Don't worry they'll have a great time. The resort is very secure and they will be able to wander around on their own. There's tennis and table tennis as well as the usual beach sports. They can also visit the patisserie for cakes and ice-cream and there's a wide variety of restaurants to keep them happy. There's a show each night too which mine always enjoyed, the turkish sense of humour is odd/funny to say the least - beware the comedy shows, they are a little riske lol.

We always enjoy taking aboat trip. The kids love to jump off into the sea and swim with the fish (take snorkels with you) there was a trip that included swimming through some caves and also a short camel ride so several stops which included lunch on the boat - lovely.

I remember you going on that boat trip. Don't think he got good reviews did he - the man that came around the swimming pools in the day time asking people to go on his dolphin trip? Seen a few reviews on here about it !!
Our favourite was getting the little dolmus bus outside the hotel to Bodrum - when you got off, straight facing was the dolmus to Bitez. It was very nice there and each bar had its own beach space with free sun loungers - we used to go to the first one (straight off the bus to the bottom on your left) called 'seaside' or something like that. Nice lad ran it and did brill english breakfasts for not very much money - put our towels on the beds while we were having breakie and brought drinks to us all day - wish I was there now !! x

pamplemousse that boat trip sounds lovely but mine are not very strong swimmers so dont think they would jump in (sounds fun though) I have not long thrown their snorkels away ( why oh why do i always do that lol) I remember using a snorkel when we went to cala dor as there were alot of fish in the sea but i just couldnt seem to get my head around the fact that i could breath underwater it was a strange sensation lol. Forget the caves trip as i am terrified of caves dont ask me why but i just cant go in them.

Suemog i have read afew of the reviews about the dolphin trip myself and i think that would upset me if i was to see that so thats a no no for us, I take it you didnt bother either.
Thanks for the info about the bars with the English brekkie ( might be nice to have one while there) To be honest its more the hubby that wants to get out and about a bit, me i would just be happy to stay at the hotel and graze all day lol. Oooooooo i feel a very long diet coming on for me when i get home lol.

Hi all only me again Can someone tell me what the Turkish breakfast consists of? I have seen a pic of it and it looks scrummy and while i can make out fruit and bit more but would like to know properly and also what peoples thoughts are that have had it. And how to book it plz. Thanks

Breakfasts like most hotels have all the juices and cereals. Cooked breakies are eggs - fried or scrambled, boiled or omlettes.
They have sort of like turkey or chicken sausages which aren't too bad, beans and other things in the containers which not really sure what they are and don't really appeal to me at breakfast. Their bacon stand in was like a sort of ham looking and quite spicey.
As you go in to the restaurant though they do all the pancakes with syrups and lots of fruit. The bread displayed is better than any
you will see in a bakery with all the jams etc and that is just in the main restaurant - not sure what the others do. And if all this doesn't impress you can go into town for the odd english breakfast. As well as our trips to Bitez, Bodrum itself has some good bars that do good breakies. I recommend the Sports Bar right on the sea front. He does a good big breakie and is a very nice chap!!
Feeling hungry now - going for some porridge - oh I think they may do that as well !!

Hi suemog thanks for the info we will defo try the bar on the beach for the breakie at least once if only to keep the 14yr old happy cos you should have seen the face on him when he was told there is NO bacon at the hotel ha ha priceless! Or is that all over Turkey? He thought it was a crime.....Boys!

Sorry i meant the traditional turkish breakfast that i think you have to book. Do you know how to book it or if you have to and what that consists of.

A traditional Turkish breakfast (kahvalti) normally consists of tea or coffee, white cheese, boiled eggs, green or black olives, Turkish sausage, helva, pekmez (like grape or mulberry jam), tomatoes, cucumbers, honey, jam, a type of omelette (menemen) and bread. Many of these are set out in a buffet in hotels as part of the standard 'international' breakfasts.

Never booked one at the voyage so don't know. There was that much food about in that complex that
we never thought about it to be honest. Sick of the site of food by the time we got home - LOL.
No bacon in any hotels tell your son as it is a muslim country but plenty do english breakfasts with
proper bacon and sausages - even heinz beanz.....

The traditional Turkish breakfast is situated at the Fish a la carte restaurant overlooking the sea and is bookable at Guest relations. We didn't try it but there was a film showing it on the TV in the room and it had a frying pan where eggs or a type of omelete were cooked on the table and salad with Turkish tea.

You may fancy it for a change but there is far more choice in the buffet restaurant.

Thanks pamplemousse, yeah i was thinking we have got to try it once when in Rome and all that jazz lol. We never really venture out of our comfort zone food wise when SC but when you have the buffets you can try alittle of something and if you like it then you can get more and if not get something else.

Only me again Is there a games room at the Voyage Torba? Arcade games, computer games? If so is there a charge for this and is it in Euro or TL. Do they have computers that you can get onto the web? And is there a charge for these ?? Thanks in advance

There is a games room which is chargeable but I don't know what they took as e didn't use them, sorry. There is table tennis which is free, bats and balls available from the animation kiosk on the beach. No computers but wi-fi available near reception if you have a laptop.

One little place I haven't mentioned for you to look at - at night when it has gone dark - step out onto the edge of the adult beach. They have lighting under the decking and you can see all the fish. Sometimes they forget to switch it on but keep having a look.
Don't forget all your white clobber for white night..........

Oh that sounds lovely I knew i had something to else to ask and you have just reminded me suemog. The White Night, now although it wont be a problem for me to wear white but i really dont think my boys or even hubby will like the thought of it, or even be able to find the boys anything white apart from a t-shirt. Now i know they sound like complete misery guts but they only like to wear tracksuit bottoms with t-shirts or shorts ect. My question is, do you have to wear white to be allowed to attend or will a white T-shirt do? As i said its not a problem for us ladies but i wouldnt know were to start for the rest of the family

hi alsbaby - no you don't have to wear white to get in you can wear anything - they just like people to wear it as all the lasers react to the white more than colours. The laser show is fantastic they are going all night and you don't know where to look to watch different goings on - music wasn't really my taste as it is very Ibiza-ish but the lights make up for it and you may know more of the songs if you are only young !! (the games room is at the side of the the sky bar so if the kids get bored they may drift off in there).

The Turkish Breakfast is superb, and is situated in the Halikarnas Restaurant, which doubles in the evening as the Fish a la Carte, you get a pot of Turkish Tea or strong coffee (or both should you want) Freshly made Balloon bread (lavash) honeycomb,selection of meats,salad,cheese,walnuts,fresh omelette, all served to you by waiters. It is a wonderful taste of Turkey, and is well worth the visit. This a la carte must be booked a day in advance, (all others the day you want to sample the restaurant) phone from your room between 10 and 14.00 hours.
There is a games area near the sky disco, although this could have moved as there have been renovations over the winter to the main hotel area. It now has a covered Reception and new relax furniture.

There is also the specialist a la carte, (Tepanyakki) which opens about the 3rd week of May, it is approx 13 euros per person, and is a pure delight.You book this one at guest relations, and pay there and then for your party. 2 sittings are available, the second sitting is the better of the 2, as there is no rush to leave your table, and you can enjoy your meal at a much slower pace.................Fabulous.

We stayed here twice last year, and on our second visit where lucky enough to book one of the new villas, they are on their own outside the main hotel, and have their own a la carte, only available to villa guests, which really is sensational, and the food is amazing............You can only book these villas thru the hotel, and there is a hefty surcharge, although worth every penny. These villas are open all year round, unlike the main hotel which closes end of October, so if you get the chance, please give them a try, well worth the extra, and the service is second to none.

Outside the hotel (Adult Beach end) there is the Alara Restaurant, which offers little boat trips 4 or 5 times a week, Book with Captain Teo, and you get lunch and a glass of wine included in the price. Approx £15 pp. Lovely and peaceful day out.

Enjoy this hotel, it is a lovely place. Torba has lots of charm and tranquility, and it is worth every penny just for the views alone.
