Hi Steve,
Pretty much all tastes catered for - I get the feeling he'd rustle up anything you ask for to be honest. You won't be disappointed.
yes - when I said "out of the way" I meant that the new coastal path has deterred people from doing the traditional Pernera/Protaras walk, and that its on neither resort's doorstep.
I do agree zivania is a "man's drink". My wife abhors the stuff. Even so a couple of swifties after the meal does no harm - in fact another great asset of zivania is it settles the stomach. But as people have said it has numerous other uses - but I just think its a shame to waste it on the windows!
Also, best drunk straight from the freezer - and tbh the "knock it back in one" is partly a macho thing which Cyprus seems to bring out in me! Now - I still have a bottle in my freezer at home - have to re-introduce myself to it tonight!
Step away from the Zivania We will be trying the bars that have been recommended buy you and other members. The super s will be getting a visit as one of my children is a fussy easter and eats mainly plain food he does't know what he's missing not trying authentic local dishes- you just cant tell kids!!!
Can i ask if there are any beach type shops near our hotel (tsokkos gardens) that we can buy lilos floatys etc? I would rather buy them out there than pack them in the case and take up valuble weight that i could use for shoes
Many thanks

If you want to go on a bus to Pernera or Ayia napa, or even as far as the water park which is really good, catch it from windmills, it only costs a quid or so and the bus is virtually empty by the time it leave Pernera, but gets full up quick on route. For water parks visit

For cheaper tickets there are several little shops selling trips, so you can have a pass for any day you wish to go, either by bus, car or taxis.
It isn't far from Pernera to go.
I love Pernera, this June will be my 5th time, having stayed at the following places ....
Golden Coast hotel
LIVAS apartments
Pernera beach hotel (this year will be my 3rd time)
Its one of the friendliest places to visit.
Are the Livas ok im off in september
Thanks derwentrocker for your reply. Looks like we have choose a great part of cyprus to holiday in
Iallen, the Livas isn't new and isn't 5 star but its he best place we've stayed and are returning for the 3rd time in May... very well run by one family and a few good friends...
Yes the livas are spacious especially if you want to cook yourself. Out the door walk thru a hotel and you are on the beach, cannot remember the hotel we walk through, but Steve i bet knows The pool is a decent size and the family that own it are really friendly.
Also back at the Livas in May. Might see some of you there!
Forgot to say that you can walk straight to the beach from the Livas via a path running through a newly built hosing estate to the back of the hotel. You can also walk through the Domniki Hotel to get to the beach.
anyway.. the path that leads out from the Livas towards the beach
This is with you back to the Livas
and this is on the path facing back to the Livas (the Livas is the one right at the back on line with the path)
this is where you come out to the beach
and now looking back to the path end... (it seems a bit like walking up through someones garden to me... the path is at the back edge of the grass on the left, look for the white fence line)
How do all you Pernera regulars feel, seeing less and less land every time you go??
Dav, we first went in 2004 when the opposite side of the road from Noufaro just had a badly fenced off pond with ducks in it.. Every year something has changed... something added, sometimes taken away.. to be honest I just love the place.. can't complain as if it wasn't for tourists going then most of it wouldn't be there etc.. it still feels like Pernera felt the first time we went...
I remember the duck pond too,I think 2000 was our first year so probably seen less development in the area then.I assume it's no longer there due to the new Polyxenia complex?
Hopefully the rise in properties has led to more people eating and drinking in the many good restaurants and bars in the area.
Is the Steak and Ale restaurant still there?
