Cheers Luci.
Can't be too long before the Riviera goes the same way. I just don't want Vegas to end up as a collection of high spec, corporate hotels, like any other city. They're already de-theming Luxor, I think it's taking away from the uniqueness of Vegas. :(

Speaking about the Riviera, I read that they have an offer at the moment of 2 nights free if you show a player's card from any other casino. However even free wouldn't make me want to stay there.

We used to go to the Comedy Club at the Riviera, but not for a few years now. We even saw Rich Hall there one time. We also used to go to the Comedy Stop at the Trop (now Sahara) and no longer go to that either. We did enjoy the new one at the Tropicana though, however more expensive than the Comedy Stop. With all the refurb etc, places are generally upping their prices. I hope Vegas doesn't become generally expensive. I love how you can have a cheap night or choose to go somewhere really nice if you want.

Lesley, we enjoyed Brad Garret's comedy club at the Trop.

We have just over a week to go before our next trip. Have just got the bags out of the loft and started the packing ritual. I'm really not feeling that excited yet. I think I peaked too soon.

I'm sure I'll get my mojo back before next week.

Netflights have a sale on at the moment, Vegas for as little as £429 with Delta. Best I've seen for a while. That's for flights in May.

I can't believe I am saying this but we have just booked to go back to Las Vegas over New Year. We had our BA redemption voucher to use so are going First Class again :D Although there was availability for us to book 7 nights I knew that would be too long for me. So we go on the 30th and arrive early evening and leave on the 4th( evening)

US Airways currently have flights for £425 Glasgow to Vegas on 25th May this year! I can't help but wonder if they struggled to sell the seats at the higher prices this year!

Hi All,
Long time no hear eh..... ;)

Looking at September but want to keep flights and hotel costs down as just back from an amazing trip to the Pacific Northwest. Continental have return flights on 3rd September for £700pp, with good flight times. An alternative is a combined flight and hotel through eBookers. For example I can get 6 nights (3-9 September) and Continental flights for £1400 for two of us after the 6.36% cashback on TCB. This is staying at the Excalibur. Not ideal but not the end of the world as we have stayed there before.

The last time we went in September Vegas flights were expensive so we opted for Virgin to LAX and then a Southwest internal but that option doesn't look as though it will save much this time.

What have you been paying for Vegas flights this year and specifically anybody going in September?

How is everybody? :cheers

Hi Ju

Yes, long time no hear!!!

We're going in September, flights were around £650, just the way it is this year I'm afraid. We fly from Glasgow on the 5th.

We've booked the Rio at $30 per night for 5-9th, then Platinum 4 nts (booked with flight on Expedia), and then Rio $45, $45, $45, $75 for 13-17th. last night being a friday hence the rate jump. Some good hotel deals out there. TI for $49, Venetian $109. Not bad at all. I'm still on the look out, but I only changed the Rio reservation the other night from a $35 to a $30 rate for those first 4 nights. We won't do better than that I doubt. Rates go up on the 9th onwards (not very good deals for the following week, which is normal at that time).

Where was your recent trip? Just being nosey - sounds like you had a good time, just wondering where you were.

Hi Lesley,
Glad to hear you still have the love for Vegas!

We went to the Pacific Northwest USA, flew in and out of Seattle and a road trip from Seattle to Portland, Portland to Hood River through the Columbia River Gorge, then over to the Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach, Tillamook, Seaside and Astoria) and finally a lengthy drive through and around Olympic National Park with the highlight for me being driving through the clouds to the top of Hurricane Ridge and being level with snow peaks. Awesome! My Wife would say her highlight was seeing the Twilight sights (or the Goonies house in Astoria) and although Forks is pretty miserable as a whole, the beaches of Rialto, Ruby and La Push really are rather stunning. You can forgive the locals for cashing in on the Twilight craze when there is beauty like those three places.

Anyway, :offtop

Flight prices have dropped for Vegas! My Wife is hesitant but she is away on a 4 week course in Northampton so it is understandable. Continental (we would have enough for an upgrade I believe) have returns for around £610-£630 and some good flight arrival times into Vegas as well on the 3rd. I would love to try and convince her by saying the Kings of Leon are playing Mandalay on the Saturday night but she hates them, if only it was the Killers, the flights would be booked by now...!!!
I know she would prefer a cheapo to Spain (or the like) in September and then maybe Vegas in November but I don't think I can wait. Once the flights are booked (please) I need to do some serious investigation into hotels as I am very rusty. Our friends are over in Aria at the moment, and I am mightily jealous despite only being back from the USA 3 weeks.....

We're off to Vegas in late September. :cheers
Got Premium Eco flights with Virgin (hope they don't strike)! Paid £1002 using a few miles plus money. Have two weeks at the Signature booked through 'Blue Chip Vegas' on VRBO. Managed to saved something like $600 by booking through them and not MGM. Can't wait!! :sun2 :tup

TeeCee, we'll be there from the 27th Sep. Give us a PM closer to the time.

We haven't decided on all our hotels yet.

Ok, I need the Las Vegas 2012 thread to materialise...... :rofl

I have made a compromise with my Wife. It is probably too soon after our Pacific Northwest trip to contemplate another USA trip especially to Vegas in September, so cheapo to Spain wins. On the positive side (not that a holiday to Spain isn't positive of course), we have shook (married life is so cool) on a definite trip to Vegas in April. :tup

This then gives us ample opportunity to save the pennies and aim for a better class of accommodation and of course allows us to have an even better time whilst over there. 2012 will be my 40th year, so what better place to start than Vegas!!!

Never been to Vegas this early though, am hoping the pools will be open? Temps should be more bearable which will help no end.

Roll on September (for Spain) and then of course next April. Vegas here we come.......
