Sorry for being pedantic Tony, but the "snippets" of info clearly appear to be you making a factual statement that MSC havnt received confirmation. As you have now stated, this is not true, its just your thoughts.

Hi Joan

I understand now! Yes, I had Phil as a bold confirmed booking until he advised that it had been cancelled. I then put "cancelled" against it, rather than just deleting it, so everyone would see what had happened.

Lets not all panic. If you have booked with Rise then as far as we have been told, its booked with cruise co. William got his, Wallecan and I have got our tickets, Jackie got a better cruise.... things are looking up! Hopefully everyone will follow suit :D

Luci and all,

I will let this go now......I am unable to draw upon any further command of the English language to explain the subtle, yet crucial difference between what is checkable and what is not.

The will to live is fading fast..........you can all draw your own conclusions as to whether any entity is to believed or not to be believed.

I shall return to being the silly Tony, for then I am loved!

Let anyone have the last word...........I give up.......Phil, pass the ding-dong I`m going in............MAN DOWN!!

:rofl
ps This is confirmed as not being an apology as I don`t think I did anything wrong for which to apologise..........or is it confirmed????.....

Tony - I think I definately know what you mean, well, I think i do :!:  :D :D :D Now, is every one being optimistic again and thinking positive  Forewarned is forearmed - let's deal with it IF it happens and not worry too much. ( I would be grateful for the occasional prompt ie will someone please remind me to follow this advice as well. At the moment, I am aspiring to be an optimistic pessimist  )

Re-Louis Cruise (March)

All I had was a booking form so that I could give them details. I only found out from this site that it was cancelled but, as no money was ever taken from my account, it was never confirmed.

I received my confirmation to-day for Melody on 30th May complete with E-tickets. It says that cruise documents will be sent 10 days before departure. As money has been taken and I have annual worldwide insurance perhaps if it is cancelled I could make a claim. I have not been asked for my passport number or details of insurance so I assume they still have it on record. However, I did have to telephone to point out that I am Mrs not Ms!

I have no cabin number as yet. It just says Category 5 inside confirmed and there is even a confirmation number. Transfers are included and I have details of these.

HI TONYW
It was my South American cruise that was cancelled, not my Thomson's one.
Everything went ok with Thomson's.They confirmed my flight and cruise.Only thing was they could not confirm my cabin. But that did not bother me.
Anyone who has a cruise with Thomson's holidays. They will give you the info you need, without any problem.

William.

Thanks William,

I know Thompson are sound.....in fact they went above and beyond the call of duty if I remember correctly.

I`m out of this conversation now, so no more replies aimed at me specifically because I will not be replying on this particular subject of confirmations.

By the way, here is a definition of dissent:

Difference of opinion or feeling; disagreement.
The refusal to conform to the authority or doctrine of an established church; nonconformity.

I plead guilty to all except the one about Church doctrine!

Hi everyone

I must be lucky because I phoned MSC cruise lines in January after having my confirmed booking and the lady who answered said that my name was booked onto the ship from rise travel. I also phoned British Airways and my name is also booked onto the flight so at the moment I feel quite confident about everything.

I have booked a cruise for later in the year through a cruise specialist travel agent in West Sussex. After initial confirmation by the agent, two to three weeks later I received a copy of the shipping line's own official confirmation. The first paragraph of the accompanying letter from the agency reads as follows:

"Even though you have purchased your cruise holiday through this agency, we are obliged by ABTA and ATOL regulations to send you a copy of the confirmation raised by the shipping line."

It would seem reasonable to suppose that **** should be bound by the same ABTA and ATOL regulations.
