Hi

My friend and I are going to Sharm in June, we are both women and a little apprehensive about the sort of reception we may get when we arrive, do not want any hassle, hope this will not be the case, and we are not exactly spring chickens.

Anyone going to be at the Conrad from 2nd June for 2 weeks ?

It will be good to meet up with other people, maybe have a few beers

I am looking forward to long sunny days on the beach

Hi Kelyny

My partner & I are travelling to the Conrad on 2nd June from Gatwick, lunchtime flight I think, for 2 weeks.

We've both never been before & don't know what to expect but I've spoken to quite a few friends at work who have been to Sharm & all had a great time. We're really looking forward to it.

Can answer a couple of your questions, not that I have been yet , just did a bit of home work. :lol:

Yes ok for your partner to wear Bikini by pool or private Beach, would not advise her to wear one on public Beach though.

Alcohol, plenty of it, so I have been informed, :glynis

Kelly... there s no problem wearing a bikini on the public beaches in Sharm ( or for that matter most of Sinai ) as usually only tourists ae about. Sharm does nt have many public beaches - most beaches are controlled by one or more hotels and do usually allow outside guests in for a small fee.

You do not need beach towels. You are issued with a voucher on arrival, which you swap for a towel at the booth on the beach. If you wish you may change it every day for a clean one.

Has anyone come back from resort recently. Do we need mossie plug???

Most hotels spray the rooms twice a week, so as long as you don't leave your door or window open too long you shouldn't have a problem. I used to live in southwest France and always had those mossie plug things in every room in the summer. They were fine, except they didn't seem to have any effect on the mossies!

If you feel happier with one, how much room does one take up in your case?

Are they bath sheet size or more hand towel size?!

Pippy, my little hamster, the only country that has small beach towels is our own! All Egyptian hotels have beach towels big enough for your perfectly formed body!

Did you book with First Choice?

If so, have you also checked to see if Eclipse (First Choice but online only and sometimes cheaper) are selling hols for Oct '06 yet?

Booked with First Choice, I'm an ex-employ so still get my discount can't say fairer than that - can you? But I did check other tour operators 1st.
