Hi All,
we are going out next thursday, can't wait. I have been keeping an eye on the weather through Acu weather web site, the temperature in the day seems to be between 34-36 and when I checked last night the temperature at ten pm was 30 degrees! so I don't think we will need cardi's.

I would be really interested as well in the plugs, are they european or worldwide?
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it, I'm about to loose control and I think I'll like it!

From cluster 9 we could hear the evening entertainment untill 10 30/ 11 pm which was not a problem. However a disco then began straight after which if you were in cluster 5/6 and maybe other clusters in that area i would of thought it would be quite loud as the bar around there was open till 3am i think x

Cheers everyone.

Thanks for the info will email the hotel to make sure we are not near the disco as should still beup by 11.00 but not at 3.00am

My tickets arrived yesterday, they were rather posh too with printed luggage labels in our names. So we are all set to go now. Next week is gonna go so slowly.

Hi NiceNic.

I email directly to a guy called Ehab. grandazure@tropicanahotels.com
he usually replies within a day. I shall send my email to him now I think and let you know.

Just to confirm on the times of the shows and where they take place and the disco:

The main show at the ampitheatre starts at 10.00pm - 11.00pm roughly some times finishes a bit earlier. Then they move over to the terrace bar for the disco from 11-00pm-12.00am after that the terrace bar closes and the only places left to drink are the billiard bar which normally has music but is not too loud and stays open until 2.00am. The lobby bar stays open till 3.00am but is only free until 2.00am unless you have upgraded.

Hope this helps.

thanks for that info. Useful to know what times the bars are open so basically you have to do a pub crawl!

Thats correct but try to remember that you will no doubt be spending some time in the shade due to it being so hot (that was my excuse anyway) so where else is there to spend it than at one of the three swim up bars, the beach bar or the terrace bar during the day

In reply to your question about the plugs its is the standard round 2 pin european one that you need. My girlfriend advised me of this and for all you girls out there her straightners worked fine.

sounds brill.
Swim-up bar it is then.

the swim up bar definitely does sound brill, just enough exercise getting to it to warrant an alcoholic reward! i'm so jealous of you folk that are going quite soon. is there nobody else logged in yet that's going in september?

kkazz,
Have you had any joy with your travel agent? We have had the same thing with First Choice, we booked a Family Room but have now been told it is a double plus 2 children and that the rooms are virtually identical!!I'm not sure that I believe that!

hi dsj 37

thats interesting! No we havent heard any thing yet, but according to the lti website double rooms are 48 mtrs square and family & junior suites are 60 mtrs square, thats one of the reasons we opted for this hotel as we didnt want to feel like sardines or putting up and down camp beds. when we booked 12months ago the family rooms were definately available, so we are going to stand firm on this one for either the family rooms or suites. :x :x :x when youve paid all that money you want what youve ordered. I will keep you posted.
5 weeks 6 days!

Hi kkazz,
I have spoken to First Choice tonight who tell me that there are no Family Rooms available when we are going but I have checked through Thomsons website and there are albeit at a somewhat higher price. I have emailed the hotel to see if we can upgrade direct, but I am going to perserve with First Choice. They did tell me that they had Junior Suites available, but only ones that slept 3!!
Good Luck

hi kazz /dsj37
i have got the same problem as you ,booked this holiday over a year ago for three family rooms . first choice have just told me that i am now booked into three double rooms and there are no family rooms left !
how can they possibly make such a big mistake like this with todays technology .
hoping to get a refund or free upgrade , but i won't be building my hopes up !
but like kazz says you want what you have paid for dont you ?
my wife says at least we have rooms , but thats still not the point is it !
not a happy bunny !
i thought it was just us but i see it's otherpeople aswell ! it's good to know we are not the only ones( in a laughable sort of way .)
i am thinking about taking my 8 berth family tent and pitching it on the beach it's big enough for all of us !
so kazz and dsj 37 if you fancy this let me know and i will pack it in my suitcase and see you on the beach !
will keep you all posted on the rooms ! six weeks to go yippee !!!!!!!!
see you all soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (you too marg )
ps: the beach bar is going to get some hammer ( so is the gym )

kkazz/skully,
Did either of you book online or did you book through an agent? First Choice are trying to say that we booked the wrong room when I know that we did not. Maybe we should join forces to get them to do something about it!!

hi dsj37/skully

the plot thickens, this seems to be happening more and more. :bhead We booked ours through a travel agent, how did you book yours skully?
when do you go dsj37?
dont suppose your tent is air conditioned skully ,as there is 10 of us it might be a bit cramped and sweaty as the temps in the evening are still in the 70's. :ghug :ghug

kkazz,
We are due to go out on 8th August. We have emailed First Choice and complained, but no response so far  . I plan to keep on at them and I will let you know if I get a reply.
Has anyone else booked through First Choice? If so, did you book Family Rooms or Double Rooms :?: ?
