Hope those off next have a wonderful time. We will all be thinking of you and those of us who've already been will be joining you in spirit.
It was good to hear that watchdog haven't forgotten about those without a cruise. Hopefully their questions will keep the pressure on the Daily Express.
Hear, hear Craig....but there does seem to be a deadly silence from those supposedly administering the promotion aka DE. Perhaps there should be a cut off point whereby if satisfacton has not been forthcoming, then action should be taken. Heck, I've had my fantastic cruise and certainly can't complain but still feel aggrieved for those who have been fobbed off.
As the DE presumably know about this site, it would be useful if they posted on here to give us an update as to what is happening. R*** actually posted a couple of times in the dim and distant past, before they threw their dummies out of the pram, so why can't the DE?
Good point aslemma, lets all keep up the pressure by contacting DE to let them know we won't be forgotten. A cut off point would at least give something to work towards. Instead of .
Nice idea, but I don't think the Express will ever post on here. As the saga becomes ever longer, the number of people just giving up will no doubt increase. In the scale of things, the number of members of this site still waiting compared to the total throughout UK must be quite small so they will no doubt continue to choose to ignore HT. Personally I know of two people who just can't be bothered with the hassle any longer and just accept they will never have a cruise and don't even seem concerned about any compensation!
However, hopefully with Watchdog back on board there will be a flurry of interest again and the fighting spirit will resurface!
To those still waiting - keep up the pressure, we are all behind you!!

Please be assured that the cruise offer that ran in the Daily Express is a genuine (and very good) promotion.
Readers should have received their allocation letter and returned it to Rise Travel - if you have done so then that's exactly the stage you should be at because as stated throughout the promotion we said that you would get full details by October 31, 2004.
In the meantime, Rise Travel, are writing to all applicants to remind them of this as readers seem to be expecting to hear quicker than we stated in the paper.
We are aware that at certain peak times the helpline has taken a high volume of calls (very popular promotion) but we tested the phoneline this morning at 10am and it was answered in 35 seconds. (Posted by PUMP)
That reply from PUMP was in the days when everything seemed to going OK . Now the whole things gone pear-shaped, I think the DE are too ashamed to come on here and defend their corner.
Besides the members of this site there were a greater number of others who had not heard of this site so there is hope for you. Hopefully the DE will get their act together soon.
Good luck
I`m still waiting but have definitely not given up! I`m trying to eat healthily so I can live long enough to get my cruise. In the meantime I have e-mailed Watchdog to add my name to list.
Have you got the email address for watchdog please so I can add my carribean cruise to the list?

Just recieved a letter from the DE I have two cruises to choose from Colourful Coasts or Red Sea Magic and four dates to pick from in dececber and january! I'm over the moon. The letter thanks me for my patience and appologises for the delay. So all I have to do is decide where to go and when.
its really good to hear that they might be allocating trips again.it will encourage all those still waiting .
maggsy, good to se you back on line you have been missed!!!!!!!!
i wonder how phil is getting on!!!!!!!!

Lilly that is brill news, are they direct from DE? If so you must be one of the first allocated and prehaps we are seeing light at the end of our long long tunnel . You'll have to give us all the details of your offer so we can drooll in anticipation!.
The letter was from DE but I'm to phone The Cruise Store to make the booking. I don't have to pay the £10 I've got to pay £30 mandatory fuel charge and no flight supplements from Manchester. They have given me an option of £99 all inclusive drinks package, is this worth it? Think I'll go for the Red Sea option always wanted to see the pyramids and Sharm El Sheikh it also stops at Jordan and Port Suez. Going to have a look through the cruise reviews to see what people say about the ship it's the Thomson Spirit.
Absolutely wonderful news Lilly and I'm thrilled for you - both good itineraries and a really good price. If the DE have now started allocating let's hope others hear soon. I think quite a lot of us who've already had our cruises didn't bother with the drinks package as the drinks on board weren't particularly expensive, but you just have to consider how often you're going get thirsty
