Well Good Morning from the Balcony

I suggest you take the mallet out of the hand of the icon and bash a head or two at the D/Express - or contact 'Working Lunch' See link above. Or join the protest movement that may/may not take off.
If none of the above appeals to you, go into the local labour exchange and make use of the FREE telephone and ring the D/E every day, two or three times a day if you can. Do not accept the recorded message ring the receptiion and ask for the promotions dept. just a tip that may get up their noses a wee bit.
There again depending on where you live you could aways visit the D/E offices.

Just shows how much notice I take of the site I just noticed someone has swiped all our stars

Hi Tonyathome - I think Phils suggestion that you bombard the DE is your only hope and if you do live near their offices then I would suggest you pay them a visit. There was a really nice lady on my cruise called Pat. She said that the only reason she got her cruise was because she actually went to their Head Office and wouldn't leave or be fobbed off until she got a cruise sorted out. I think she actually went twice. So maybe that's the thing to do?!
A lady called Mary came onto Three Counties Radio this morning saying that she had received a letter from **** (not the Express!) back in April asking her to be patient and saying that she would be contacted by the end of November with a cruise offer. She hasn't heard anything form either party in this promotion, not even the standard letter from the DE. The radio station are getting some more details from her and have promised to chase it up.
we mihgt get more info later this week. carol
thats good news isnt it Carol It seems that all is not completely lost Just so long as the plight of would-be cruisers is kept firmly in the limelight!
Before I forget -
Number 1 has been round today, as the Kids broke up from school. So she had the excuse to come and help me ??? with the house work (in other words find the presents) she had no chance I hid them in my neighbours (she was late number 2 was here eariler in the week). only trouble is now they have both been here I can find nothing
You were first atwales, so allow to wish everyone a Happy 2006 and a cruise to all those still awaiting
By for now

some will understand
What a lovely sunny day it is - have I miised christmas, it must have been the cruise.
Talking of cruises, are kaye and Lilly back yet (perhaps on looking at those names I've got um wrong - then I was thinking that Chris on our cruise was Craig and I never could figure out if it was Jean or Joan that was married to Bill (I hope he did not get confused and take the wrong one home)
Anyway our favourate Company (who shall remain namesless) - are now involved with Tesco, I received an email from Tesco this morning offering me a "Free Flight to any of 7 European Destinations" if I bought their travel insurance, I wonder if I should reply to the spam email and direct Tesco to this site, only as a referance I might add.
With food for thought
It's time for lunch
Bye for now

ps just corrected the names, I think
Three Counties Radio talked to Mary again this morning (see above). The Radio station have tried contacting the DE but all they got was the recorded announcement (which they played over the air). They have advised Mary to write to the Express, enclosing copies of all the paperwork she has, to try and push this forward. So even the radio programme seems to be coming up against a brick wall.
Well I am back from a cruise of a lifetime. But I am still swaying, even though I left the ship when I started my journey home from Galveston at 8am yesterday morning. I finally reached home in Cornwall at 4pm this afternoon.
But the ship itself, Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas, was beautiful. Everything about it was first class, and I loved being in the Caribbean sunshine. I am so, so lucky.
Didn't come across any other £10 cruisers, or perhaps they were keeping quiet like me. In fact, I only came across one other solo traveller. A good job we actually became best of friends on the cruise, otherwise it would have been very lonely.
Just one small gripe concerning the money I was asked to pay upfront to the travel compnay dealing with my booking. They insisted that I pay £80 for prepaid gratuities, which I did, but my onboard account was only credited with the usual $68.25, which is what Royal Caribbean suggest. Quite a difference hey? This randomness of extra money paid by £10 Cruisers has ben ongoing throughout this forum.
Anyway, I will post up some pictures when I am rested.
I am SO happy to have had my cruise at last, and having seen all the damage done by the hurricanes, I was perhaps fortunate that the original cruise date of November 5th was pushed on till December 4th.
Love to all
Andy's Kay x
Hi Andy's Kay, it's good to hear that you had such a great cruise after all this time. Thanks for letting us know how you got on.
Thanks Andy's Kay! Your cruise sounded fabulous! Look forward to the photos too. I think it very important that people post here once they have had their cruise. It keeps the whole sorry saga in people's minds and gives hope to those still waiting
Well come home and thanks for bothering to put a note on the site about your cruise, it will certainly, I'm sure, will give heart to those still waiting for the magical £10 cruise.
I only wish everyone who had had a cruise had responded by writing a brief note of encouragement to otherswho are still waiting for their cruise, but; 'thats life' as they say.
Have a speedy recovery and then lets see the photo's. (I never found that bit easy, putting the photos up on the site). I still have a load more to put on the site yet - but wonder about the libal laws; after all they do say a picture speaks volumes.
Bye for now

Hi Andy's Kay and thanks for posting so soon after returning, it is much appreciated. Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your cruise.
Yes, thank you so much for posting and giving hope to those still waiting. I'm so glad you had a fabulous time and am really looking forward to seeing the photos. I think all those of us who have been lucky enough to get our cruises will say that it was worth it in the end, wherever we have been. The added bonus is that we've met so many nice people on here.
Have you stopped swaying yet? It took me days after the first one, then I was fine the next time. Strange feeling, isn't it?
Interesting that even after you being on Watchdog the pricing on the tips was still random
As Aslemma says, I hope those who are still waiting are comforted to know that virtually everyone who's been has had a fabulous time, eventually!
