Barneydog don't give up! It is worth it. The very fact that people took the time to save the vouchers in the first place showed that people who bought the newspaper had faith in the company. Doubtless a great many people will still be buying it regardless of the fiasco.
Not to be forgotten are those people who are non HT members too. No doubt a lot of other people will still be waiting for their cruises and are wondering just what to do about it or maybe they have given up waiting.....Maybe an advert in a National paper might bring those people out into the open and could join forces with the others.

Hi Marcus. I have an outstanding Med Cruise offer and the 'holding' letter from DE last August.
Please add me to your list. I am very interested in hearing the result of your Legal Action against The Daily Express. If you are successful I will certainly do the same and would appreciate any tips.
Even if you are not, can you please share the outcome and learning here, as it will help many others prepare their case.

i havent been following for a week or so ,i see a few more cruisers in waiting are on the site,i hope your persistance pays off you all deserve your cruise.i cant understand why every one gets fobbed off with{as soon as] they must know it only gets everyones back up,some real info would help you all its no way to handle people.

heres another to add to the list , the last i heard was last february when they were going to get back to me within 48hours , i was suppose to be on the libya june 2005 cruise.
I have been watching the site with interest. I too was allocated a carribbean cruise for Sept 05, but then heard nothing. I have been writing, ringing and writing again, but had no reply from the Express team at all. I have logged my name with Watchdog. I hope something comes of the Court action, good luck

Please add my name to any legal action that may be taken against the DE. I was allocated a cruise to South America on 10th Aug 2004 which I accepted. In Oct 2004 I received notice that the cruise would be with Costa Cruises departing on 19th Feb 2005 from Santos (Brazil). Like others I was contacted by phone at the end of Oct 2004 saying that the cruise was not available and that I would be sent vouchers. Told the handling company that this was not acceptable,however I received vouchers which i sent back by return. How the company could allocate this cruise in the first place I do'nt know as on Costa Cruise web site the cruise I was allocated did not have single cabins.
I am on the list for 2006, but after several enquiries I have not had any replies.

Hi again. I would also like to be added to the list. Just an idea, but could a letter template be added to this site to write to the DE. I think more people would be more likely to send a letter if they could just print off a template and fill in their relevant details...
Also, does anyone know who I should contact with a change of address. I would hate a new cruise offer to go to my old address!!!

I wonder how many people would consider spending a day outside the DE's office with a placard if it's not been done. I live up in Yorkshire but would be willing to take a day off and catch the train down to London. I have good contacts within ITV news if the the London regional news were persuaded to cover the story it might make the DE do something it certainly did for those people who appeared on Watchdog.
I had a cruise to Lybia offered in April 2005 and a friend had one to Canary Isles same time like most of the posters we've had the calls the vouchers which we sent back but nothing now for months despite emails and calls.

Redo - I live in Yorkshire too & would try & suport a DE protest. However, I think that we are better off waiting till we hear of the outcomes of the two members here who have legal actions against DE pending, with hearings mid February I think.
Should they get a positive result then we can commence similar proceedings with certainty of winning. With costs and fees it will cost the DE a lot more in the end, as potentially there are thousands out there still waiting. Many I expect look at this site for news. If a step by step guide to successful legal action is given here, or on a Blog, maybe the DE Board will be prompted to take pre-emptive action and agree to honour their £10 Cruise Promotion.
So I think we are at a major point now in this whole debacle - Litigants please share your news soonest
