oh no. We really dont know what to do. Go (Or should do ) on 28th June, there are 8 of us. I was feeling positive, now having read your comments !!!
Think we are having a holiday meeting this afternoon!!!
just priced it up amd its now £600.00 cheaper so am not happy with that either.
One problem after the other.

all we can really do is wait and see we people that are going on the 24th will be the first to know so im going to sit and wait cant really do anything else we had to sign to agree the flight change so cant sat that its a major change so no way out unless fc cancel our holiday keeping my fingers crossed it will be ok as there is 15 of and we will never find a hotel on this short notice
Yeah I know, your situation is worse. I think FC are making it worse by giving no word. We too have been looking elsewhere but not doing anything yet.
1 - watersports -ringos- banana boats etc have been withdrawn
2- horse riding withdrawn
3- regrading of hotel to 3*
4 - they are still taking bookings in june / july
they have agreed that i am not getting what i am paying for and therefore can offer me an alternative holiday with no incurring charge. i have stated that i am not paying the remainder of the bill (under the trade descriptions act) until i have been fully satisfied and the have agreed that i should not do this.
i have gone onto them stating that i have arranged other things re this holiday such as kennelling for pets etc. and do not want to change my dates etc
only customer services (which do not work sundays!!) can do this change , amend my bill and give me a full update on the hotels condition. however they will ring me in the morning. lets live in hope.
can i just query anyone who had their holiday cancelled by fc who were due to fly before 24rth when did you find out, how many weeks notice did you get?
I was a cancelled person. We have not been contacted by FC BUT we called them on 31 March when Debora said she had been cancelled (she was 10 May departure) and not opening until 24th. We rang FC and they confirmed that this was correct.
FC then asked us if we wanted refund (we had paid in full when booked in MAY 2005) or alternative holiday. We searched the brochures, checked if available online and then rang FC back and told them what we wanted.
We are now in 5* hotel, still AI, hotel has hotel kids-club and full ents programme and we also have sea view and balcony and inter-connecting room (we had no sea view at Kos ABC). Should have cost c£500 more but FC paying the difference.
One thing I would state with regards to the * rating of the hotel is when we booked online last year it did show as 3*+ and not 4*, so we could not argue with them on that point.
While really disappointed I'm not going to Kos ABC I'm trying to look forward to my holiday - so if any of you fancy jumping ship, we're at the Titanic Hotel in Lara Beach Turkey.
Think Debora was called by FC to tell her cancelled.
Has anyone been informed of the no watersports? I havent what a suprise FC not communicating again??
Getting more peed off by the minute and I am not generally a negative person.
Sam
I feel really let down by FC though because of the lack of communication, different stories etc. I did not mind the horseriding being cancelled or the clubs rebranding - but over the whole late opening thing they have been pants!
FSDSS we also go on the 28th June and have decided to sit tight and wait for FC to either cancel or see if the people going on the 24th May get there. So if you do decide to stay with your booking for the 28th and we get there and it is totally unsatisfactory, then you will not be on your own. I suggest if this is the case that we group together and make our complaints heard. Still feel positive though, because by hook or by crook i will be going for two weeks in the sum somewhere
How old are your children?
Mine are 2 boys aged 12 and 7 so really need all the stuff for them not us happy kids make for happy parents after all.
The other thing we are thinking of is asking to tranfer the holiday to 22 july although its quite a bit more expensive we can both get the time off work and the kids have finished school, and also there will be proper reviews by then too.
So going to hopefully sweet talk travel agent tomorrow.
Sam x
i am just complaining to FC now so that its documented to back up any potential further compliant in the future
my children are 1 & 4
Thanks for that info mrs gaz. will let you know how i get on tomorrow!! your new hotel sounds lovely, never been to turkey before but i am up for anything. If my 11year old is happy we to will be happy as she chose the abc in the first place.
For those going later in the season it should be great though. Those going on 24th should try not to worry. Honest. (easy for me to say!)
ill let you know what the result of this is, i admire all those who are hanging on to the hope this will all be built and set up in time
I just re priced up same hol but going from gatwick not Bristol on 22nd july for 2 weeks and the difference is £600.00 so thats the option I am hoping for rather than moving to hotel i didnt orginally choose also will give us more time to save extra spends.
Trying not to get too used to the idea as I have to get FC to agree first, which could be difficult but I think I am being reasonable its a lot of hassle to change dates what with hol insurance and the airport parking we have already paid for and cost loads more at gatwick then Bristol plus the flight times are not as good flying at 9pm rather than 6pm which mens arriving in the middle of the night.
But I am getting my case together and giving Fc plenty of options with us.
Just going to price up the holiday village costa del sol and the titanic resort now too.

Michelle, so your post on thinking of cancelling, my advice would be to wait for the letter from FC telling you there cancelling, that way you get all your money back plus 20 each for them cancelling if its less than six weeks to go, you only have a leg to stand on really when you have paid up and something goes wrong on there behalf, think they have egg on their faces at mo and have to move quick so they dont lose too big, but hang in there and let them do all the work, dont worry about finding new accommodation let them worry. Mat at our local shop told us when FC cancelled us that aswell as giving us compo and there was 16 of us they were also willing to pay the extra towards a new hol if the difference was greater, I priced Mexico but we couldnt go on the dates that were available 24 May so good look but thats what happened to us.
They did not dither over the difference at all, and she actually priced to include sea view and balcony and said that they would still fund the difference (as we had no sea view at Kos ABC).
We also priced the week after which was c £950 more than original holiday and in that case FC said they would fund £650 and we would have to pay £300 - so seems £650 MAY be the limit. (This is of course just what happened in my case so don't anyone assume that it is the case!!!!). I'm quite happy if any of you out there want to us me as an example as to what was funded. I also did not have to pay the charge for changing the booking - I would have resisted that anyway as I had no choice but to change the booking.
The girl I spoke to (Louise) was really the most helpful person I have spoken to at FC - but then it was on 31 March when the news broker and she said most folk were being trully horrid to her and her colleagues.
While we are 'happy' about the outcome and a 'better' holiday I am still disappointed, as we all are, the the holiday we all originally booked is turning into a farce with bookings being cancelled by FC and big changes made.
Good luck to anyone changing holiday and stand by your guns!
I will be asking them to pay that too, they prob won't but you can but try!
Right I am going to attempt to leave this computer now, but everytime I try there is another posting lol.
sam
I was told last week that FC have a reserve fund that is available for situations like this, they know they are going to have to use it for us guests and are just trying to delay paying it out, at the end of the day they have my money right now for a holiday that was advertised as being fabulous not some rushed complex that will be full of teething problems.
We are also looking at Costa del sol holiday village - as I spoke with people on holiday last year in Lanza who had been there and they said it was out of this world fab for kids. we also have a couple in crete, 1 in halkidiki and 1 in fueteventura all of these are between 800 and 1200 more than what we paid, (remember 1 booked day brochures came out last year so got 1st edition prices and my holiday for Kos included free child, red of 3rd adult, free insurance, £250 off holiday) so they better take that into consideration when changing us over.
