I was still trying to work it out to reply when you posted again!
Having booked flights to Goa in December and March on the strength that My Travel were supposed to be upgrading their long haul aircraft, to give a minimum seat pitch of 31 inches. I was more than a bit gutted to receive word from Airtours, who own My Travel, to say that the upgrade will not now happen. Has anyone else heard this?
Thinking of booking for Goa in jan 2007 through Portland. Can anyone please tell me which airline they use and do you get off the plane during the stop in Abu Dhabi?
If you are arranging your own flights this year, Check your prices carefully, I have been on the bargain sites, and found what is considered a good price, then I have gone onto the actual site of the air company involved, the same flights, are some times hundreds of pounds cheaper, at the moment Virgin is really good 222.00, plus air port taxes, yet for the same flight it was 435.00 on a bargain flight site. The actual airport taxes are around 111.00 some companies are actuall adding on over 300 pounds for airport taxes, so check and double check.

Thanx Lin, thats a good time 05.30 last time I arived at 12.30am and had to wait 12 hours plus for a connection, never again!! Some time ago there was a suggestion of moving the Wednesday night meets to Candolim as most folk seemed to be from that area, I think Annapurna Bar was one of the suggestions? Apologies for mixing topics up but has anyone had any more thoughts on this?

Have you tried finding a flight via Dubai?
could do indian airlines to dubai/bahrain and then another flight into sharm/cairo etc.
Im really torn,as we are flying to Goa at Xmas we thought it would be nice to treat ourselves to a little more comfort. But an extra £400 If its really really really worth it then we will.
Also they have told me to ring back 7 Days before flight date to do the upgrade
My travel are not too bad in economy, The upgrade seems rather expensive, we upgraded about a year ago for £90 each, save your money and buy a nice bit of bling with it when you arrive.
The 'ring back 7 days before' didnt really make sense to me. I know a couple that are flying with MT to Dabolim in november and upgraded to premier at the time of booking with their TA.
