Hi Sagres
Do you know what they charge to Lagos
Thanks
Ruth
ruth,
I've been quoted €115 return for September.

We will be staying in Albufeira for 1 week (29th July 2007 to 5th Aug 2007) before moving on to Lagos (5th Aug 2007 to 12th Aug 2007). We will be flying in from Manchester to Faro and was wondering the best way of going about this 2 centre stay holiday in regards to transfers to and from Faro?
In summary we need to get from Faro to Albufeira, Albufeira to Lagos and lastly from Lagos to Faro.
Many thanks,
DDM.

Would you drive Dogdogman? As the roads in the Algarve are never busy and are good. You could hire a car for probably a similar amount to paying for 3 taxi's.
I would definitely consider hiring a car but surely I would have to hire it for the full two weeks wouldn't I? Would there be any way of hiring a car on the days of each transfer i.e. Faro Airport to Albufeira, Albufeira to Lagos and finally Lagos to Faro Airport. I have never heard of any car rental companies doing this sort of thing; has anybody else?
Thanks,
DDM.

You can do a pick up and drop off but I would suggest maybe a taxi to Alb on arrival then a hire car to take you to Lagos. You could even keep the car for the week and drive it back to Faro. There are so many lovely places along the West coast that you could visit during your second week.
Have just returned from a long weekend in Albufiera. Used a transfer company http://www.viagensconforto.com. Cost 28 euros each way for a private transfer in a minibus for 2 of us. Very friendly, courteous drivers with good English. Much cheaper than anything else we could find. Would highly recommend.
Dogdogman,
Although I have never used him myself, Alan Sutton seems to be highly recommended. I mentioned it to someone else who was going from Faro to Cabanas, Cabanas to Carvoeiro then back to Faro and she says she got a good deal. Might be worth a try and mention HT.

Many thanks for your replies. Hiring a car seems like a good idea for the last week in Lagos. Didn't think of that! Also I will see how much it would cost for transfers to and from the resorts via Alan Sutton.
I am thinking about hiring a car to take me from Albufeira to Lagos and then from Lagos back to Faro airport. Would you recommend booking it on the internet (now or next year) or waiting until I get to Albufeira and renting one there?
TIA,
DDM.

We've hired a car on our 2 visits to Algarve this year. First time with Pat's recommendation and the 2nd time one I chose of the internet as it seemed cheaper.
When we go back next year we are going to use economycarhire again as everything is included - no hidden extra's. We left €50 deposit for the half tank of petrol and received it back in cash as we returned the car to Faro. No hassle.

All booked Sagres
Full marks to Sul Travel for our transfers on our recent holiday. The price quoted-€115 return Faro-Lagos-was the most competetive I could find and the service was first class.A friendly,English-speaking driver was waiting at the airport with a board clearly showing my name, and we were taken directly and safely to our hotel in a modern and clean mini-bus.For the return trip, the minibus was at the hotel 15 minutes early and at no time was I allowed to lift our luggage. All in all, an excellent service which I will be using again in the future.
I also used Sul Travel for our transfers to Albufeira, it cost 58 euros / £42 for 4 of us and the service was excellent. Have booked them again for xmas.
We get our transfers from the airport pre booked with villaplus but the company they use are bravo tur, very good company well worth a look, not sure on prices though.
edit: Just found the price out of their website, from Faro Airport to Albufeira is 52.50 euros each way, not bad really.

€52:50 each way seems pricey. How many people?
Last Christmas we were charged €22:50 one way from Albufeira to Faro.
Last Christmas we were charged €22:50 one way from Albufeira to Faro.
52:50 is for 8 people, we get charged £53 each way from villa plus and they use bravo tur!
8 people - well that explains the difference, then.
Can anyone please tell me if there is a bus service from Faro airport, going along the coast to Monte Gordo, as I am on a flight only, I would like to find the cheapest cost to get there, and if there is no bus sevice, can anyone give me the latest taxi price. Jxk8.
