Looking through the travel brochures, the rainfall in the Dominican Republic in January is pretty low. But after reading many reviews from last year, it seems there are many days with rain. Could anybody please advise before we book. Thanks.

Does anyone know what the weather will be like in the Eastern Caribbean end Feb/beginning March? On a Princess cruise to Antigua, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts to name a few of the islands we will visit and would be interested to know if weather will be good. Hope so as really looking forward to it now, never been to Caribbean before.

We are going to the Dom Rep for the first time on 3 March 2007.

The misses would like to know what the temperatures are like in the evening/night time? ie. should she pack strappy little dresses or trousers and cardy?

Hi Experts!

I'm thinking of going to Cuba but have changed the date to June instead of October.

Can anyone tell me if this time will be good for weather? The last thing I want to do is have 2 weeks of rain!

June is the start of the Hurricane season, but we have been to Cuba twice in June and the weather was great we did have rain a couple of times it but never lasted that long, didn't even bother getting out the pool sometimes. by the time you pack everything up it had stopped.

Hi Everyone,

We are trying to decide on our holiday this year, its either Punta Cana, Dom Rep or somewhere in Mexico. We are planning on going around 18th Oct for two weeks. Where are we more likely to get the best weather?

Many thanks 8)

Hi Stevie2006

I've just got back from the Riviera Maya and it was HOT :sun - very hot during the day and also very warm in the evenings - no need for cardigans or jackets - humidity was low throughout our stay and we saw no rain at all. The wind did tend to be strong on some days by the coast and we did see the red flag on a few days. However, the wind is warm and is a welcome relief at midday when it is really hot.
The sun is very strong and you must wear high factor SPF, even in the shade you can get burnt if not careful.

To check the weather, google cancun weather and a host of information will appear - I found the 5 day forcast on wunderground to be good, although it was a lot hotter in reality than on any of the websites we looked at before we travelled

Have a lovely holiday and take care in the sun :glynis

Can anyone give me some advise on what the weather is really like in the Caribbean in July. I know its the hurricane season but does that mean it due to rain all the time?

I've been to florida twice in July and the first time the weather was really sunny with just a short sharp burst mid afternoon for about 5 mins but the second time it was really dull, very humid and had lots of rain.

Should I be comparing the caribbean with Florida or are the climates nothing alike?

thanks in advance.

The main thing is that the weather will be unpredictable. YOu coudl be lucky or you could have rain all the time. It comes over quicly and clears up quickly in the Dom Rep and I beleive most other carrabean places are the same.

Thank you for that.

The Caribbean is a huge area. Look at the weather forecast and trends for the specific area you are interested in.
I have been down to the W and E Caribbean many times in July and the weather is HOT- mostly blue skies, but if you have a lot of humid days then thunderstorms pop up and soon move through. Hurricane season technically takes up half the year- May to November, but fortunately last year there were none.

Hi there. My name is scott and i am looking to travel to the domincan on the 1st june. however i have read so many conflicting ideas towards what the weather will be like in june as this is the rainy season.

Basically, could anyone tell me what the weather will be like then? myself and my girlfriend love the sun, so this is a must. If necessary we would consider another location, however we have had our hearts set on the domincan for some time.
