Please can someone tell me what weather I am likely to experience when I'm in Cancun from 27th Aug - 10th Sept 2007? I have asked so many peole but I've never had a reply from any website I've been on. Surely someone has been there around the same time of year as when I'm going. Please - help me with this - anyone!!!!

I've been to Cozumel a couple of times in August- it was in the high 80's to low 90's. I've been all over the Caribbean in summer. Tropical weather- well, that late in the summer it gets pretty humid and it's not unusual for it to start off as a normal hot sunny day- late in the day it gets oppressively hot and sticky, a storm brews up,the sky changes in a few minutes then it PELTS down and then.... its all over. Cools things down a lot and clears the air.
Most of the time your temperature will be high 80's- Mexico's weather is pretty constant as is most of the Western Caribbean. You are going in peak tropical storm and Hurricane season, but don't let that put you off. 2005 was awful for storms (Katrina etc) but there were none in 2006.
It's now the end of July and there haven't been any serious ones this year.

Goodie - the hotter the better! I've usually got a very dark tan within 4 days in Cyprus, so imagine what i'll be like in Cancun eh? We're back in Ayia Napa nextyear, Cancun is a treat as AI.I. Its back to cheap and cheerful next year S.C.!! Only 4 weeks til we go to Cancun, I'll let everyone know how the holiday goes. Cheers for your help with the weather. :D :D

I went 10yrs ago in July and it rained twice for about 30mins each time but still very hot is it similar still now as i see Aug is rainiest time of year, dont want to book if it is going to be wet all the time.

Barbados sounds like an ideal location. I heard RNB singer, Rihanna's from that place. I heard in an interview that it's probably one of the best Caribbean tours anyone can have.

Hi there, been to bucerias in July 1998 and other family members went in august and september of 2000 and 2001 and the weather was always the same. VERY, VERY HOT!! You will usually get blue skies until about 5 p.m. then with the very high humidity it usually sets off a couple of thunderstorms. The real storms usually occur in the early hours when we were woken up (even after several tequilas too many!) by enormous claps of thunder and heavy rain. This happened every night, but by breakfast time the skies had usually cleared again. This weather pattern also occured when the other members of our family visited so it must be very typical for this time of year, after all, it is the rainy season. One thing you can guarantee is a good time, if you are staying in the Decameron complex in Bucerias. We had always wanted to return and as our daughter is now old enough for the long flight we are considering returning next july. Hope you have a good time.

Hi Shazzer

I'd be grateful if you'd post a review HERE when you return (I'm assuming that's the correct hotel?! :D ) as the current reviews are looking rather sparse!

Have a great holiday!

Thanks.

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone has recently returned from The Dom Rep could tell me what kind of weather they had? I have been watching a weather website over the last months & I am worrying myself silly about our coming holiday (We are going to Punta Cana on Oct 18th) There seems to have been very little Sun just showers & T-storms! Is this correct? I know you can't control the weather but was hoping for some nice weather.
Thanks in advance

we flew home friday and it was 95 but felt like 105! it was about the same temperature the whole 2 weeks we were there...in fact it always is. ignore the forecasts. yes it does rain we had 2 showers and torrential down pour but that was it and yes it can be cloudy but its not constant. i came back the colour of a local (as they say) and i was using spf 30!
