I noticed that also.

I thought I would find out how much a 2nd holiday to Goa in November next year would cost (first one in February) and I notice I could not get a price for any holidays with a Thursday departure only Saturday (arriving Sunday) departures.

I wonder if First Choice are cutting down on the number of flights to Goa from November 2007.

Thanks BEfree. and again to Dazbo.

I will watch the flights with interest this Wed & Thu on LGW departures & arrivals.

Also, I was looking at airlinemeals.net yesterday and I thought I may take photos of the meals and post a report.

I assume you are talking about gatwick departures 'cos as far as I know there has only ever been one a week ex Manchester with first choice.

I did notice that there was a flight from East Midlands for 2007/08 but can't remember who with, probably Thomsons. (in which case they will probably cancel it)

But it was the reduction in the extra weight that annoyed me, makes it more of an expensive option when you are only being allowed 3 kilos more than cattle class. Not sure that I can drink an extra 7 kilos worth of alcohol to make up for it :D

Hi, we booked early for Easter 2008, for Florida. I noticed as well that the weight has been reduced! Less to bring back? Also within 1 hour of booking it, when I went to print off the details for the other people going with us, I noticed the price had come down by £300. It shows that it doesn't always pay to book early!!!

The reduction in Weight limit has yet to be fully confirmed but the whole charter industry is being shaken up at the moment and i expect to see this as standard across Thomson, Excel and First Choice.

The current problem is people get 30 KGS but pack 35 for example, so the idea would be to state 23 and possibly go to something like 25 or 26 without charges. But like i said the whole thing has got to be confirmed.

Hi, just after a little ifo if possible.

Flying 3rd December Gatwick-Puerto Plata FCA 030, what route will we take.
Thanks :)

jostle3,

There are two possible routes. You'll either head south-west for a direct flight, passing over the Azores, or you'll head out over Ireland towards Nova Scotia crossing the Atlantic, then follow the eastern Coast of America to the Behamas, then turn south-east towards the Dom Rep. I've been on both routes so it depends on which one is assigned for your flight. I'd say the first one is most likely from LGW.

You'll be flying on one of FCA's excellent Boeing 767-300ER's. Providing the skymap is working, you'll be able to follow your progress on the seat back IFE.

Have a safe flight,

Jostle, Daz isn't far out with his route guidance. As an air traffic controller who gets to position traffic for the North Atlantic tracks (NAT tracks) they change on a daily basis depending on the forecast wind in the upper air. In essence you exit UK airspace at a point on 10W from as far north as 61N (just south of Iceland) or as South as 49N (south of Lands End). Quite often traffic out of Heathrow / Gatwick transatlantic has to route right up the spine of the UK and start its crossing well to the North.

There are about a dozen different routes.

Your route for the 3rd will be notified approx midday before you depart to all the airlines.

I have noticed over the last few days that First Choice have removed there info on what films and tv they are showing onboard there flights. I thought maybe this was for updating as its been the same for the last 2 months now but its still not there.

Does anyone know if they have moved this to another part of there web site or if any other site gives this information ?

Nice find "MKGuy" lets hope December's is a bit different as i've seen most of these movies.

15 days and 12 hours until going to Cuba to get married......yeehaaaa.

I think the films/tv programmes will be the same for December. Usually they change every two months. My movies on my return journey were different from my outbound journey in August!!

That is actually wrong.....the website is still quoting October's films as being shown in November when they are not.

I haven't got the whole list to hand, but you will have, amongst others, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, The Devil Wears Prada and Cars. If I can find it, I'll come back and let you know.

Thnx everyone for the replies. I had noticed that nothing had changed from October to November, just thought that they changed them once every 2 months. Been staying away from watching films for the last 2 months so im not stuck for something to watch on the flight. 10 hours with nothing to watch could feel like 20.

hi all.
first time posting on this site. 4 of us are flying star class premier to puerto vallarta, mexico on 6th december and we are soooooooooooo excited :D . being that there are two 14 year olds travelling with us and that we booked star class premier in june, what are the odds that we will be seated together as one of them is a slightly nervous passenger? do you think we will be flying on a boeing 767 and is this type of aircraft a good one? what is in the pampering pack and will the air therapist be on board?
sorry for all the questions but we are getting quite giddy now!
we really look forward to replies.
best wishes,
mark and claire.

foxynchick,

You'll be travelling on one of FCA's Boeing 767-300ER's since thats the only aircraft they use for long haul flights. These are excellent as an aircraft, not quite as quiet as the Airbus equivelent (or as British!), but still a very nice airframe. The star Class interiors are simply the best in the skies as far as charter airlines go. Seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis so get to check-in 2 hours before your departure time and you should get seats together. Seating is arranged 2-3-2 so you'll either be sperated by an isle, or behind each each.

Unless its a recent introduction, FCA don't have extras such as air therapists aboard thier flights (and I doubt they ever will). This is the realm of schedule opperators such as Virgin. I'm nut sure what the pampering pack contains exactly, I've only been in star class and I'm sure you get a few extra bits and pieces in premier. I should imagine it will be the usual things, toothepast and brush, each plugs, blindfold, socks etc. It may have the headphones in, but you get to use noise cancelling ones in premier (can't keep them though!).

Have a safe journey,

Darren
