Does anyone know, by the way, if or how, XL will be requesting the additional Government fuel charge? All the other airlines seem to be making requests by e-mail or advising what they will be doing, but there is nothing on the XL site.
Thanks.
Tesco is now giving £20 pp discount!
Thanks for that, Luddenturk - I've just booked with them as, using the tesco code, finally the price comes down from when I first started searching 2 weeks ago!
Argh - I shouldn't have checked - My flights to Heraklion which I booked in May last year have come done by £70 for the two of us!!!!!!!!!!
We have used XL afew times found them great,Tesco is the best promo code at present, although others i have used are Divers,Calis,Mod.

Booked our flights in December for Manchester - Dalaman, 3 Adults 1 Child £952, today same flights are showing as £1090 using TESCO promo, when I booked I used a code for £15pp discount, so I am pleased I booked early.
the last 3 days their Caribbeans have been running a day late, not good!
only other comments in flight meal nothing special..ife sound links in our row everyone was broken...still i am old enough to remember watching silent films on telly
thinking of booking 4 of us early september with flyjet through xl from manchester to dalaman, would like to know if there is any in flight entertainment and if anyone has had any problems with them ie splitting groups up etc. please reply because I don't know if to book with these or with thomas cook. Thanks
Don't book with Excel. I had a similar choice to make last summer, Excel or Thomas Cook. Excel promised better flight times, so chose them. Biggest mistake ever. Virtually nothing promised by Excel was actually delivered. Worst airline I have ever flown with. No other airline, and I have flown with a few, have ever failed as miserably as Excel.
Just typical, I've just booked with XL thinking I was doing right the flight times were better thats what has swung it and used the mod code to get a reasonable price, I won't let the wife know or else she won't want to go. Thanks
We have flown with excel x2 per year for the last 7 years and have NEVER had a problem with them, flying with them in June.
We'll just have to see, years ago when we went Bulgaria on one of the Russian aeroflot? planes air Via, now that was entertaining to say the least, never gone back since.......
As Dimrie says, we have also never had any probs with them.
Unfortunately as some complainants say they don't have the best customer service. But hey they do fly X millions of satisfied passengers per year.
Wish you a trouble free flight! Don't worry!
Last May I booked with XL for 6 of us to go to Fuerteventura in March from Birmingham. Flight at 7a.m. was being run by Air Malta. Now they have cancelled flight and we are going from East Midlands at 11.30 with Viking. I understand these other airlines do sub-contracting or something for XL. Anyway it's the first and last time I book with them. Had to change car hire in Fuerte for 2 cars. They have gone up €12 each and parking at airport has also had to be changed.

We flew from Man to Dalaman last October (2006) - we had a small delay (not of XLs making).
There were no problems regarding the flight, although there was no in flight entertainment - though there were overhead screens, we were not informed why these we not working.
Food was fine -we didn't pay for a meal, but everyone had one.
I have used XL before several times, and have never had any major complaints - they are cheaper than most airlines and I would rather have saved the £s for my holidays, than pay £40pp more just to watch a movie (that I probably wouldn't want to watch) for a couple of hours.
We have always been seated together (2A/2C) both outbound and return, though we are usually at the airport in good time.

They have appeared to put a plane on at 14:30 instead, I have received no information so have sent them an email as my detail on booking extras now say invalid.
To me it is a better flight if we are on it, but the wife is not happy as my daughter will now miss her last day at Junior school.

Sometimes when their flights 'disappear' it is because they are fully booked.........not saying its true in your case ,but don't panic just yet !
I'm not concerned myself just the wife is not happy, we booked this flight as the girls would have finished school at 3pm that day and we would have flown at night, now looks we will fly during the day.
Just need to book an extra days holiday now just in case.
If I get a confirming email I will let you know.
Dave
