We came back in October 06 and the sun cream lady was there I think she came 3 times a week.

We used glasses in the evening for our drinks but as Kaz says keep hold of them or they will try and collect them off you.

Hi, We leave in 2 weeks and have just recieved our tickets, they have changed our flights so we will be landing at 8.15 does anyone have any idea how long the journey is to the hotel and if there will be food available when we arrive? I know its all inclusive but sometimes when they say snacks served after dinner you are lucky if its edible. I will be travelling with my wife and 2 year old so would like to know that there will be food available when we arrive. Many thanx

Hi,

We've just got back - I'll post a review over the weekend. We had a fantastic time though.

It's about 15 mins from the airport, so depending on the time you get through baggage etc you should be there for about 9.30?? The main restaurant (buffet) serves until 9, not sure if you could ask the hotel to leave a packed food bag of some sort - they do that for lunch if you're going out. They'll give you a map of the site which is useful as it's quite a big site, there are maps at various points on the site too. In the showbar in 'C' area, where the entertainment is, they serve food during the time when the restaurant is closed, till quite late at night - it's fine depends what you're expecting though! Don't expect gormet cos it's a 3 * hotel. They serve burgers/cheeseburger/hot dogs/chips/toasted sandwiches and hot or cold drinks and the bar of course!

Hope you have a lovely time!

Thanks Lisa, cant wait to read your review. Wont be expecting too much with the food, we go all in every year and we know what to expect, its just sometimes the snacks are left overs from mid morning snacks! What you mentioned sounds fine with the little one and the misses expecting both will be wanting food, me.... i will be happy with the bar!

Just got back last night - will write a full review when I can keep my eyes open
Overall, had a good time, although some of the facilities in the brochure (Chinese restaurant, Irish bar, adult/disco bar) were not open during our stay. Apparently this was due to a combination of staff shortages and the complex being about two thirds empty even though it was school holidays.
We had no problems with the food, didn't hear of any break-ins and everywhere was very clean.
We didn't get our Kids Den, First Choice had overbooked them, so Turicomplex put us in two seperate apartments with a connecting door (C19 & 20) which was great because we had two bathrooms, two TVs etc :D
The First Choice entertainment reps were fantastic! They made it a great holiday and they deserve to earn twice the money they're on.
2-3 days before we left, a really nasty large family group arrived and spoilt the holiday for most of us for a couple of days. They were given a final warning and then behaved themselves but only after a couple of nice families, who were so upset by them, had to move hotels.

Full review to follow soon

I can't find anything listed on Hotel Reviews for the Club Caletta Dorada. Neither can I find anything for Costa Caletta. I have never been to Fuerteventura. I have a 7 year old grandson and this place looks good for entertaining him. I would be grateful for advice and also details of the area or if anyone can tell me of a better place - not noisy!! I'm too old for noisy drunks!!

I have just noticed a post on what I believe to be these apartments/bungalows. Is Costa Caletta the same resort as Caletta de Fuste? I am getting confused - mind you it doesn't take much to confuse me these days! :(

can anybody tell me do these bungalows have safety deposit boxes in rooms, as bit worried about the burglaries i have been reading about.

Hi

Yes they do have safety boxes - although they are not screwed down (usually in the wardrobes). We were there for 2 weeks last August & used ours - had no problems with break ins. But lots of people heard about someone who had heard about someone - if you know how it goes!!!

Hi allie :D We have just come back from the Caleta Dorada. The safe is 12€ a week plus 5€ refundable deposit for the key. The safes are quite small - we were lucky to have two separate apartments so I paid for both safes for all our stuff - two camcorders, three digital cameras, a PSP and several games, a wallet of PS2 games, three mobile phones, three iPods... and of course the obvious tickets, passports, money, house keys etc, we needed two safes for all that lot!
Didn't hear of any break-ins or security problems while we were there. Our apartment had some marks on the window frame indicating a previous break-in (or possible attempt) but the window was actually fastened with a large screw through the bottom - we never bothered opening it, we never spent enough time in the apartments to need the windows open
You'll have a great time - we've been home a week now and I'd go back tomorrow. I'm currently in a state of post-holiday depression :(

Hi all, We are off next wed any last words of wisdom? Hope its nice and hot!!

any last words of wisdom?

Take your own tea bags if a cuppa is important to you (their own tea is a bit nasty) there is a kettle in the apartment, or if you're all-inclusive you can help yourself to hot drinks - use your preferred UK tea bags either way
Be prepared for a freezing cold pool - it really is as cold as everyone says - if you're using the C Pool you can take a stroll through the Splash Park before you get in the pool, it takes the edge off the icy coldness...
Take comfy shoes - it's a large complex and you'll be trekking between the restaurant, apartment, pool, bar etc several times a day, and it's quite a hike down to the main resort too!
It may still be a bit chilly in the evenings (it was bloomin freezing for a good few nights while we were there over Easter) so take a light jacket or cardigan.
Enjoy!!!
