bazza31,
Your flight is showing as being operated with an Airbus A321-211 (G-OOAE) which have 4 rows of premium seats at the front. They aren't up to the full star class spec, but you'll still have 32" seat pitch and a couple of compimentory drinks etc. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Have a great holiday,
Darren
thanks for info darren. we hope to have a great holiday, back to the same apartment in lagos for the 3rd time. cheers mate from barry.
flying to Sharm on Thursday from Manchester, does anyone know what film they might be showing? Thanks
Can anyone tell me which plane will be taking us to the Dom Rep on 6th August from Manchester.Have upgraded again the whole package is worth the extra. Flew to Dom Rep last August the extra comforts made the time pass really quickly.
jo03,
2 questions if I may?!
1. Why was the Cancun flight 3 hours late leaving LGW last week? (FCA074 on Tue 8th).
2. Baggage:
We booked under the old regs and have 30kg each.
Does this mean we can take 3x 20kg, or do we have to have upto 30kg each??? Have asked FCA and the shop and get a different answer out of everyone? (I know its max 23kg per individual bag).
Thanks.
does anyone know if FCA have any offers on tabacco (eg 400 for 15quid) My mum is flying to Lanzarote in 2 weeks and would like to know if she can buy on board (she is aware that you can only have bring back 200)or to buy them in duty free?
I've flown with FCA 4 times in the last 12 months, 2x long haul and 2x short haul, the last time being March. They've had the 400 cigarettes for £15 offer on all those flights so I assume it'll still be on offer now.
Darren
We fly on Thursday to Sharm - a friend has asked us to bring back ciggies for them. Do they many different brands on the plane? never taken any notice before. Thanks
They normally stock B&H, Embassy No1, Silk Cut, Marlboro Lights, Superkings, Regal King Size, Lambert & Butler, Hamlet, and Golden Virginia.
Darren
Don`t suppose you know what films they are showing at the moment do you.
Also are they sticklers for the 23kg weight per case - we are so used to lumping 2 x 20kg and splitting between 2 cases.
Thanks
I'm not sure what the film is at the moment, they've probably changed since I last flew with them. Given the new rules FCA have imposed, I'm sure they are more strict than they used to be. An odd kg probably won't make any difference, but 2 or 3 probably will.
Darren
Thanks.
I have just booked a holiday to Egypt departing 28/04/08 and have been charged £15 each for what FCA class as a Mid Haul flight meal.
After checking Short Haul destinations the charge for those meals is £12.
After several email to customer services I have finaly been told the Mid Haul and Short Haul meals are identical and the price increase is for the extra fuel required to transport them.
I know its only a fraction of the total holiday cost but you would think FCA could hide this £3 in a better place as it seems a lot extra to explain away on fuel.
Geoff
Id only ever heard of Short Haul and Long Haul Previously.
Maybe someone thought this one up to make a bit of money.
Three quid each doesn't really bother us (even with five of us) as our holiday is such a good price and you can always exclude them if you wish when you book.
Maybe the new rate is for any flights over two and a half hours, as we are flying to Thessalonika in North Greece.(3 hrs 30mins)
People are always thinking up Ideas to make money unfortunatley.
I remember years ago when under occupancy supplements for rooms had only high and low season, then they thought up mid season which used to mean June until July school hols, then they decided to add May school hols out of low season and put this in mid too.
Luckily we book our hols last minute for great prices and don't pay any of these under occupancy supplements!
Mid-haul (or short haul plus) are generally flights over 3 hours
Long haul are flights out of europe.
They probably argue its the extra cost of trasporting meals, extra fuel but in my view, its just a way of getting a couple more £££ out of passengers.
Darren
Now that's a bit naughty. I've just checked my final invoice and we too have been charged for meals (flight to Sharm). This is a new charge, there was no mention of it at the time of booking and when we went two years ago the meals were free
Just returned to Manchester from Mexico this morning flying FCA Star Class Premier. The flight was good on both the outbound and inbound, however i would not choose the premier service again. The Star Class looked just as good and talking to other passengers in Star Class they were very happy. I did not feel it was worth the extra 600 pounds for my partner and my self. I am not saying any part of the service was not good, it was excellent, but so was Star Class. I did not feel that the extra gave me much more than what i could have had in Star Class. 5 pound would have upgraded my tv, and we did not drink 400 pounds worth of drink !!!. I booked a premier holiday that gave me the extra luggage allowance, meals are included in the price, and the sitting together included extra as part of the premier hotel holiday choice. The priority luggage first off the plane and priority boarding didnt really work in mexico, however in manchester this morning we were first off the plane, and we did get our luggage very fast. I think FCA are excellent and they will be my first choice on the long haul holidays i take, but it will be Star Class in future and not the Premier Service.
That would be an extra 1500 for my family which is more than our holiday!
I wouldn't Pay it.
Anyway first class/Premier are Air Bag for Economy you know!

600 pounds is a lot of bucks indeed.............
It's a shame that prices for upgrade do differ that much - I payed 300 pounds extra for premium upgrade, in- and outbound for 2 persons....
Heard of upgrade even for free offered to some people when FC called them by phone........
So in my opinion it would be more fair to fix the price for premium upgrade.
Cheers !!!
