Flew back from Ibiza yesterday to Liverpool - I would guess that there were less than a dozen with priority and they had to get the same coach as the first bunch of non-priority !

Must have been a civilised bunch - flight maybe 80% full and everbody seemed to get seats they were satisfied with without a fight !

Cancelling a Ryanair flight.
Hope someone can help me here.
I received an email from Ryanair moving outr return flight from Malaga to BHX from 20:00 to 22:00
They say in the email:
"As your flight times have changed significantly (more than 2 hours before or after the original scheduled departure times), you may apply either for a Travel Credit for the unused flight sector(s) on your booking or a full refund of all monies paid."

Now with a 7 year old, the return flight is far too late now, so i have gone to the Ryanair web site and cancelled the flights and requested a refund.

the concern I have is that the drop down reason for cancellation gives "flight moved +/- 3 hours" as the reason.
This goes against the email section above.
Am I going to have a problem getting my refund?
Where does the law stand in this?

Many thanks in advance

Denny Crane,

If it's let you request the refund, you should get it.

Thanks darren, yes, it has accepted my refund application, so i'm halfway there I suppose. :-)

Denny,

A friend of mine had a similar situation and like you accepted the refund option. He assumed that the refund would then be automatic and monies credited to his original account but I recollect it wasn't that simple, he is currently on his way back from Spain (with EasyJet !) so I will ask him tomorrow what the detail was with regard to his experience and post again.

It could be that things have changed since his refund.

In Ryanairs defence (I can't believe I've written that!!) - if they allow refunds for changes of more than 3 (or 2) hours then you're doing well, some airlines say more than 12. The catch will be is it really "all monies paid" - including all the taxes, credit card payments, baggage fees etc etc.

flew to malaga, with ryanair,on monday april 20th,from liverpool & returned last night.
the flight going, was probably half empty,we had 6 seats, between 3 of us,so no complaints there.the flight was on time & boarding was really civilised.i have never flown with them before, but would definately use them again.as long as you stick,to the rules & regulations set out,you should have no problems.i have never used them before, but knew the baggage allowance & stuck to it.the lady,in the next queue, was arguing, because her case was 23kg & they were making her pay :que
coming back, the flight was full, but again on time.a couple of stag parties boarded, but you never heard them, the whole of the flight!
no complaints here

As you say Tracey abiding by the rules is the key to travelling with Ryanair, I have never had a problem.
the final price is what counts never mind the add-ons.

I recently flew with Ryanair, Bournemouth to Reus. The flights only had around 50 people on each and were fantastic, we got the extra leg room seats next to the emergency exits both ways. The whole flight was really enjoyable and both on time if not early! Although i guess most of this was down to the amount of people on board the flight.

Has anyone noticed a very significant increase in actual fares over the past couple of days.

Today I checked some flights I booked and for later this month a return to Spain which cost £20 a few weeks ago would now set us back £239 - yes £239 ! Throughout the summer fares have also seen a marked increase and in Oct to Tenerife (one way) we paid £105 only a few weeks ago and the same oneway flight is now £215 !

I then went to the Monach website and a flight to Tenerife in Oct coming back in Nov for the two of us (with only ONE suitcase and some extra legroom - well we must travel in some comfort !) would be £610 !!!

Whats going on ?

On a slightly different subject but to continue the cost issue - those who travel to Spain frequently and hire a car will also note a massive increase in carhire charges from all carhire companies from Feb09, thankfully we prebooked all of our late last year prior to the increase. The costs now show a 50-60% increase on those we booked.

ps I was lucky enough to go to Spain in Feb09 with a friend and back for 4p - including all taxes etc, maybe we have been spoiled !

Sadly just the laws of supply and demand and a very clever calculation on the part of ****air.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help?
Have booked flights with ryanair to go to Tenerife later this month. I am going with hubby and son, Originally I only booked to take two suitcases between us. Have now decided to take an extra case, so we all have one each. Have been on website and paid to do this, but nothing came up to say wether i wanted on line or airport check in. Have looked at receipt and it only says online check in for 2 of us (which i did pay for in the first place, did'nt get son suitcase, thought we would manage with small case to carry on for him) so therefore didn't need to pay anything for checkin.
Do you think we will be able to check him on lone with us?
Hope this makes sense.
Many thanks.

Don't think you should have a problem - sounds just the same a wheatcrunchie did on the previous page of this forum.

Just had my first flight on one of their mobile phone enabled planes and couldn't resist the temptation to turn my phone on and pretty soon I received a text from my service provider (o2) informing me that I was connected to the plane's onboard mobile network and what the cost of calls would be, though At £1.99 a minute I managed to resist the temptation to make a call and start shouting down the phone ;)
Although I can see that this service could become a nightmare with some passengers having little or no regard for those around them, it is an advantage to be able to send a text or two to people meeting me at the airport. I may grow to like this service.

Anyone know if Ryanair have installed any self service checkin points / Baggage drop at East Midlands yet, ie similar to those at Stansted ?

Thanks Chris

They hadn't when I flew with them at the end of March.
