hi rach 24 ncl
in reply to your question 700 was for us both and not each. god i would stay in cyprus for a month if i could save up that much per week each!!
you will absolutely love fig tree bay but make sure you go early for a bed if you are late dont worry cos the beach to the left is gorgeous too. the water was warm even in sept and you can see all the way to the bottom quite far out. you will only be a few minutes away from the main street for night life as well if you are staying near fig tree bay.
we never even went in our pool as the beach was perfect.
53 days left till i visit cant wait! not looking forward to the flight though as 11ish on the night and we were knackered last year. gonna try to lie in on the sat morning and get to newcastle airport early for good seats as they offered us extra leg room last year and it was much more comfortable.
you will love it. lindsay.x
Admittedly we do eat in a couple or 3 nights but we eat out every lunchtime and most evenings, inc beer and wine PLUS brandy sours.

I'm going to napa with the lads in August and taking between £1,100 - £1,200 for 2 weeks... That probably seems quite a lot but it only averages out at about £80 per day... Napa beer prices etc are on a par with going out over here where i can blow £60-£70 so i'm hoping i'm taking enough!...
I'm a bit shocked as I read this as I'm flying out on 10th May for 2 weeks self catering with myself, my hubby & our 2 kids age 2 & 3 and we're only taking £800 for all of us for 2 weeks! - Am I going to have to stay in loads!???
we eat out every night,in fact every morning as well..the breakfasts are good.we always come back with some money even thou im a shopoholic.mind you we do put the car hire on the plastic..we find this is best to do...
I'm taking about £700 for myself but I do spend way to much.
re- Mikes post...
It is expensive to get there, but still cheap once there!!!!
Sainsburys had Pedigree at £1.65 for a 500ml bottle last week. That's Sterling, so about CY£1.24!
Sorry!
Mark
Mark don't just tell me send some...cost a bit more in my old UK local, I recon £2.60 a pint? nope stick to Carlsberg in Ollie's £1.20 a large bottle slightly less for draught would you believe..:glynis
I'm talking about the beer prices in the centre of the square in ayia napa not some back street taverna...hence the reason why i said "Napa bar prices"..
Last year i was paying between £5-£6(CYP) depending on which bars you goto for 2 beers... Thats around £3(GBP) a beer!
People who are going on a booze/clubbing holiday to ayia napa and expect it to be cheap will be in for a shock thats all i was saying!
If you can name me some bars/clubs where i can get a pint in the centre of Napa for £1.35 then i'm there!
Mike if you wish to pay inflated prices then that up to you, we have the same kind of bars where the lager heads hang out here in Pafos, actually far more than even A/Nap, last count 680 bars, but I guess I am part of the older set and have been there and done that and to be honest wild horses would drag me into town these days never mind head banging bars...permanent holiday for me now..
Don't panic about your spending money. Your children are really only babies, and I can't see you doing the tour operator trips thing so you should be fine.
The answer is in 'self-catering'. Beleive it or not a couple of nights in the hols we get fed up with restuarant food (I know, hard to believe when you are back home!) and I buy a couple of the lovely Cyprus potatoes and a tin of corn beef and it just tastes so good. Totally different sitting on the balcony with our bottle of wine.
I'm quite sure with children so young you wont have any worries, and hey!, it's not a hanging offence if you actually make something to eat in your apartment!!!
Enjoy.
By the way, where are you staying?
Cheers,
Janet
Hi Janet, Thanks for the reassurance! We're staying in the Rising Star apartments and leave from Birmingham on Wednesday the 10th May! I just can't wait now, although this money thing is still concerning me. I'll just have to take my debit card along as a back up just in case! I think we'll live of a few meals out and some take-aways to be honest (with our kids it'll be a nightmare trying to eat out all the time!). I'm on my count down now! Are you off out there soon? Thanks for your advice its much appreciated. Claire.
If you can afford to live near Birmingham you sure will be able to live for a couple of weeks here...as long as you don't eat out at every meal don't worry.
Thanks Jim! Lets hope my money lasts! Only 6 days to go!!!....
can anyone advise on the best places to exchange money in ayia napa many thenks
No problem Claire, by all means take your debit card (in fact I pay all my spends in before I go and use my debit card all the time, much safer), but if I can go that far back all my kids wanted at that age was: ice cream, a paddling pool, ice cream, a bucket and spade, and more ice cream !!!! Oh, lets not forget the water rings....... My point here Claire, is that you aint gonna spend a fortune on the little ones either, so relax girl and just enjoy and love Cyprus as we all do on this forum.
We don't go to Protaras, but I believe you are only 10/20 minutes bus ride away from a fabulous water-park that looks really good for little children as well. We are Limassol freaks, but having said that, I have sent my family to Protaras this year as I think it's the best area and has lots more for families.
Off to Greece in 5 weeks time (chosen for the little grandaughter of 6 years) WHO decided in January she didn't want to come, and like Mrs T. 'the lady ain't for changing'. Not really looking forward to it, as I would rather have went twice to Cyprus, but hey, we're Scottish, so definately wasn't gonna lose the £350.00 already paid!
Having said that Claire, you can stop crying for me, as we hit Limassol for 4 weeks on 18th September
Have a great holiday and remember to post when you come home.
Cheers,
Janet
