found this topic really helpful im off out there in 11 days and i was worried about how much spends to take between the 2 of us!
A lot of Hotels etc, even In Summer, are not as busy now, and neither are the bars.
I suppose you could still find the odd location where prices were a lot cheaper than Cyprus.......... but I, for one, would rather pay more money for a classy Holiday
Great Island, lovely scenery and places to visit, lovely people, lovely food and drink......... who could ask
for more
Amen to that cookie........totally agree
Hi tatty- try the Anatolia up on the main road. Go up to the Sphinx bar at the top of the strip and turn right - not far along is the Anatolia. Always busy, which is a great recommendation in itself. Great service and huge choice of food, very reasonably priced. Nice fresh rose for the ladies after the meal!. My first time there last week, but I thought it was great; we had a really nice evening, and there were obviously lots of repeat visitors.
Thanks a lot Meerkat will definatley try there! 8 more sleeps
Just got back from Rising Star Self Catering for 2 weeks with myself, hubby & 2 kiddies (32,31,3 & 2) and we took £900 for the 2 weeks and came home with £100. We bought stacks of wine home and pressies home. We hired sunloungers and a brolly on the beach everyday, bought the kids at least 2 icecreams each eveyday and their beach essentials (buckets spades etc..). Bought food from the local supermarket for breakfasts (cereals & fry-ups) and sandwiches (cheese, ham, salad etc) doughnuts too, and stuff to feed the kids in every night (chips, pasta, nuggets etc) and then ate out late at the restaurant with them snoring in their buggies every night! Having a main course, sometimes pudding and a couple of drinks each it wasn't cheap but was reasonable the menu varied from CYP4.50 for the basics to CYP8.50 for fillet steak etc! Plus we hired a little motor boat thingy which was CYP15. I guess what I'm saying is we certainly didn't hold back on our spending and we came home with money! Claire
Claire,
How did you find it at the Rising Star Claire. We're staying there at the end of July. Have you posted a review?
Still trying to compile my review of the apartments as we only got back Wednesday night; I will do it soon though! They were brilliant but please make sure you ask to be in the main block as we booked a 2 bedroomed apartment and were put in the old block but I asked to be moved as in the older block it is accessed through a rear door and tiny lift or an external spiral staircase. plus the apartment gave the impression of just being an old place tarted up rather than the new blocks carpeted floors and new 'everthing'. We had to go in a one bedroomed as there are only 2 two beroomed apartments and they are both in the old block. The new block is lovely and the staff are nice and very helpful. The pool is lovely and the beach right outside, its perfect. We didn't eat at the restaurant as we went to the Yianna Marie restaurant every evening and the food was lovely and the staff fantastic. They even presented us with a bottle of wine on our last night to say thanks for eating there the whole 2 weeks. If you have a pool/beach view you get the morning sun and a field view gets you the afternoon and evening sun; my parents had a pool view and we had the field view and I personnally preferred our view as you could still look out over the sea and you had the evening sun for drying out towels etc.. This is turning into an essay so I'll do my revioew later and get it all on there. Please ask if you need any other info on prices etc.. Thanks, Claire
I can ask my brother-in-law to pop in and see if he can get us a good room, he lives just down the road from Ayia Napa and been down to take aome pics for us. He speaks Greek so I'm sure he can help us.
just posed my review so stacks of info on there, thanks, Claire
Thanks Claire
Excellent review Claire
Thanks I thought it was turning into a bit of an essay!! There are one bedroomed rooms in the old block too. It may be an idea to get your brother to pop in or alternatively you could email the manager there he was helpful in moving us. His name is Alex Alexandrou and his email is reservations@yiannamarie.com I'd certainly holiday there again and plan to book for next May but I'll make sure I email a couple of weeks before I go and ask for a room in the new block overlooking the fields for the evening Sun and a high floor to avoid bin noise! Our one bedroomed apartment was great and we were in 415 and my parents had 416 overlooking the pool and that was lovely too. I'd mention it to your tour operator too as that way you have all angles covered. Hope you have a great time there! I'd love to be there now instead of being stuck here in the rain!! Claire
8 weeks tomorrow and I'll be there
Have a great time & have a Keo for me!!!
we are going back to the rising star in october this year, we were there last october, do you happen to remember the names of the entertainment team this year ??
thanks
It was Ben 'Apple', Janine 'Jellybean' & 'Oi Oi' Andrea if my memory is still intact following the litres of wine I consumed throughout my 2 weeks there!
Just found it. They have a thing on MSN for people to keep in touch and they post emails on there. It also shows photos of them etc..
