Just to let you all know that my camera has ceased to function after more than 3 years of service. It will be a couple of weeks before I can sort out a new one.

Meanwhile I will update my blog every few days, hoping that mere words will keep everyone informed.

Hello cubsur, just had a look at the updated pic's from the 2nd June, it is looking a bit slow still. Can you go down and tell them to get there fingers out as we only have just over 3 weeks to go. Also can't make out what they are doing to the old fish market, why have they taken the roof of it?

The roof tiles will be replaced. The metal plllars ared beign repaired and repainted. This afternoon work was continuing laying those nice smooth marble paving slabs under and around it. I await with interest the first rainy day or even someone coming off the beach in wet flip-flops!

There were hordes working - the stone steps to the beach are still off limits and the only access to the beach in that area is the narrow wooden staircase at A Ruina.

I'm doing a European tour for 3 weeks now so by the time I get back I hope to see that area finished at last!

I think 25 Abril looks rather smart now part of it is pedestrianised, the large flower pots and the pavement cafes look really nice.I think they have done really well and the end is near. Hopefully they will get the new roof tiles on the canopy soon it looks rather bare without them. Cheers Jayjan

Hello all, with cubsur gone on holiday and no reports about the road works going on in Albufeira has anybody just come back who can give any up dates to how it is going?
We will be going next week and was hoping it would all be finished.

Along the sea front by Snoopys is finished, the old square is done, Av 25 de Abril is coming along very quickly with lots of activity going on but not quite finished yet. They are doing the steps outside Wild Bills today but the rest of the area by the old car park is still some way off from being finished
