Hi lillyflipflop and cool username by the way, it gave me a chuckle :rofl Well done on your 5st weight lose thats amazing! :bow Aahhhhh the dreaded christmas, the dieters hell lol. I must admit i didnt really eat that much over christmas for a change but what i did eat was wrong, I was to scared that food would interfere with my drinking :cheers lol. I still have a tin of roses in my kitchen and i dont ever touch chocolate until i am dieting and then i want it, must be because i know i cant just have it when i want......Typical! I think you have around 11-12 weeks until June so i think you will have no problem losing that stone. Well done on your 3lb weight loss so far and if you be extra good lol you will get there. You have done fantsastic! What plan you doing??

Irene alot of my friends do Zumba and they seem to enjoy it. I hate excercise and i know full well i will never stick to it but i am thinking i may have to bite the bullet myself because i dont seem to have a waist anymore. Goodluck with the bum wiggling ( power walk ) :rofl I do try to walk everywhere when i can but i am not energetic enough for power walking lol. You go girl!

I had a good day today cos guess what........I got 2 pairs of size 12 jeans and they both fit :yipee ( have trouble believing am a 12 but 2 pair cant lie can they lol)

Hi girls how you all doing?
I thought i would come on and fill you all in on the lovely meal i had tonight. It was king prawns with chilli and garlic,leek, beansprouts and rice noodles. Oh it was sooooo tasty and all home made ( well rice noodles from Asda ) it was massive too and all for only 390 cals YUMMY. i will defo be having this again this week.

How is everyone getting on? Are you all looking forward to weigh day? I have a starbar and some thins for my supper but the fat in the starbar is really high so i am abit paranoid about it eating it even though its still within my calories. Oh well think i my just have half :D

Hi alsbaby. Not doing well at all; in fact havent started dieting yet!! Had chinese takeaway for supper, few glasses of wine and an ouzo and lemonade :) . Tomorrow though I start the Dukan diet (again) so I will let you know how much I lose in 5 days (last time it was about 5 lbs) and I wasnt hungry just bored with the food (no veg, salad, fruit or booze allowed :( ). Your meal sounds delicious; could you send the receipe please? We must be twins lol I absolutely adore starbars (and curly wurlys). How many calories are starbars (I've never looked just devoured it). Gx

After a couple of 'naughty' days this week, I had a good day yesterday (last nights indian meal was a SW), used flexible syns for the nibbles, l x glass of wine and 1 toffee crisp bite) :really
Made 2 lots of soups yesterday (Lentil and Carrot and also a Curried squash soup) - will be organised this week for lunches at work. The key for me is planning ahead.
Have just had eggy bread for breakfast.
Tuesday is my weigh in day so let you know how I get on.

Hi all.

Im so glad i decided to join the dreaded "summer diet" thread. Ive got up today filled with detemination that i wont eat "forbidden food" ie chocolate :rofl then i remembered i brought chocolate cheesecake for pudding after dinner :duh Oh well this will test my will power!!!

Alsbaby-thanks for the support, i havent really done a "plan" as such. I was quite overweight at the begining . When i first started to lose weight i was unwell then as i got better and people were telling how good i was looking since losing weight i carried on and followed "weight watchers" but really i just used it as a guide lines,(i loaned my friends WW books to give me an incentive) I knew that if i wanted to lose weight i needed to reduce my food intake quite alot, comfort eating, eating when bored and just eating cos i love food are my downfalls :rofl I dont really drink as such, just girly drinks very occasionally on holidays so i think all the more chocolate but thats what helped me gain a stone so must stop that way of thinking :D

Im trying calorie counting again, if i look at the calories and they are horrendous it makes me think twice about eating it (well sometimes!!)

Keep up the good work girles, who knows we will all be "elle macphersons" on the beach this year :rofl

Hi all :wave: Hope today went well. I was really busy today and forgot to eat so ended up having a roast with the family ( a good one though) I had my roastie's done with frylight and chicken breast the veg i dont count apart from my pea's, It amazes me how pe's are 80cals for 100grms its veg after all lol. And of cause my gravy oh and 2 yorkshire pud. I had my WW dessert after it and to be honest i feel really bloated and ill now, that will teach me to eat through the day so i dont have to eat all my cals in one sitting lol.

G the starbars are 270 cals i was so paranoid about the fat i only had half cos i wanted some thins too and they are 101 cals. have you tried thins?? They are a rice cracker and i get them out of home bargin, the sweet chilli are my fav. Yum.
The chilli and garlic prawn meal i had goes as follows ( oh i get raw king prawns from the chinese supermarket they are massive but i think cooked will do if you cant get raw)

200grms king prawns ( raw weight) Or just weigh cooked ones to whatever your allowed)
Half packet rice noodles (Asda)
As much leek and onion as you like.
Chilli powder, You can use fresh but i always have powder in my cupboard.
2 cloves of garlic ( i probably stink today ha)
Beansprouts ( again as much as you like)
1 tsp fish sauce ( optional) and good pinch of MSG (flavour enhancer from chinese supermarket)

Marinade prawns and onion with chilli powder, frylight, garlic and 1tsp of fish sauce ( use the water from prawns in the marinade too)Spray your wok with lots of frylight and fry your noodles until you get the texture you like add a good pinch of MSG and then add beansprouts and leek when heated through place on a plate and put in mic. More frylight in wok and put your prawn mixture in ( if raw prawns they will take longer but if cooked then your only heating through) When prawn mixure is nearly cooked reheat chow mein in the mic and when hot add it to the prawns and toss till covered in the sauce. Enjoy. Think i will have this again tomorrow YUMMY.

Hi Irene couple of naughty days not gonna kill you, Hey if we cant have a couple of days off then whats the point.....Am i right :tup forget about it now and stick to plan and you will see a loss when you step on them bloody THINGS on tueday lol. Soup is a good idea cos it fills you up and is full of vitamins ( maybe not wonton which is my fav lol) Hmmmmmm could just go some wonton soup right now! So much for me feeling sick cos of being bloated lol. Goodluck for Tuesday.

Hi Lilly your welcome for support cos i get it back from yourself and everyone else on here :tup you sound just like me with the eating when bored or when am sad or when am happy or just if someone does my head in :rofl every emotion really lol. I think thats why i never went back to SW because i knew i could have free food and found myself just grazing through the day because i could. Dont get me wrong it did work but i am doing ok CC its hard but am getting there. My friend does WW and she has lost 2.5 st but she doesnt do the new one ( pro points) she is sticking to the old one cos it works for her. When a choc attack happens have you tried options or highlights choc drink, 40 cals, maybe that would take the edge off the craving,or maybe a fredo ( about 95 cals) or crunchie 185 cals now that does take sweetie craving away for me. I lovely my ww chocolate brownie dessert its 149 cals and sooooooo chocolatey or the double choc brownie is 163 cals. They always sort my sweet tooth out :tup

8 weeks in and I've lost a stone, got my sticker last week. Weighed again tomorrow night.......don't know how I've done as it was hubbies 50th last week so we went to a cantonese and I've had a lot of birthday cake.... :que

caz-well done on your weight loss. Dont feel guilty for eating some of your hubbys birthday cake-it would have been rude not too :D

Well i did resist the chocolate cheesecake and had grapes instead, i felt so pleased with myself!!!

Alsbaby- i can use any excuse to eat, i am an emotional eater but hey it could be worse, chocolate always seems to help :rofl thats until i come to get on the scales and it tells me one foot at a time please :D Boredom is my biggest enemy where food is concerned, if i feel a weak moment coming on i do try and busy myself if im at home.

Im feeling positive again today, i did do ok yesterday so hopefully i can carry on but who knows when a chocolate craving is gonna strike!!! But as a women i am prepared-a whole tin of celebrations are waiting in the wings to be devoured :tongue

CazzMicknTom :wow well done you on your 1st weight loss, it a fab feeling when you get targets isnt it. I used to love getting my stickers and sticking them on my book , thats something i do miss about not going to class. As Lilly said dont worry about the meal and cake, You cant stick to a diet on birthdays its just NOT done. I think you have done fab cos it was your hubbies big 50th and you could have done alot worse. To me it doesnt seem to matter if its not my birthday i just go for it all guns blazing lol. Lilly :yipee good on you girl by not being tempted by the dreaded cheese cake and i bet you were soooooo proud of yourself for eating the grapes instead and made you feel really good about yourself too. I think that sometimes when we manage something that we think is impossible sometimes it really does drive you on.

P I used to make my soup ( depending on what day ) No matter what i used pot herbs ( the ready chopped veg) It normally has cabbage,leek,carot and swede and thats always my base. I also use chicken bovril ( i can only find the chicken one in Sainsbury's) cos its free instead of a stock cube 1-2 syns depending on which you use. Green days i use potatoes or rice in it too. Red days i used chicken with the veg. Oh also garlic for both days and of cause pepper to taste, you dont need salt as the bovril has salt in it. Or you could use one B and have chicken and do yourself a chicken noodle egg drop. Roast your chicken breast in tin foil and chop or shred ( save the juices and put into the bovril later ) make up your chicken borvil and bring to the boil then snap some spagetti into it and simmer until spag is cooked. Add the juice from your chicken. Mix one egg in bowl and then with a fork whisk into the bovril and add chicken. There you go chicken noodle egg drop of only 1B section. The egg is optional. Enjoy! :tup

Wish me luck cos i am gonna be on tablets from the doc's and i took them on my hols a few years ago and gained 10lb in two weeks :yikes Yes i admit i was an absolute oink but still 10lb, so i do think the tabs added to that weight gain. I started them today so i will probably be on here next week in tears but here's hoping i dont need to be. My weigh in is tomorrow i will let you all know how i get on.

Cazz our posts must have crossed. Half a lb is not to bad, i know it can be really disheartening when you cant have a day off with out gaining but it could have been worse, it could have been 1lb lol. Dont let it get you down and just keep thinking to yourself it will be off next week and then some. Goodluck and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} Keep your chin up x

alsbaby. Yes i was proud not having the cheesecake, but i have a confession-i did stick my finger in the cheesecake and then licked the chocolate off my finger :yikes i know its scandolous but so nice :rofl .

Ive had a good day again today but i do feel a chocolatey moment in the offing :really

Hi als. Thanks for the recipes; I will make some soup tomorrow cost I've got loads of veg. Will try the chicken noodle thing as well. Also going to try king prawns and chilli recipe you mentioned (my friend is coming for supper on Thursday so might do it then).
Lily, you are doing well! It's not chocolate that gets me; it's wine. In fact I've just been to my friend's house and on the way back, called in the shop and bought a 500 ml bottle which I know I will drink tonight :( .
Caz. half a pound isnt that bad. I daren't get on the scales!
Irene. How are you going with the Zumba class? Me and my friend said we might try it!!

Parga (gail) chocolate is a real temptation for me :sulk i just love the flippiing stuff. Wine dosent tempt me at all, just as well cos then i would be totally sunk :D Let us know if you try the zumba classes, ive been thinking i would like to try it myself.

Hi Lily. Got loads of chocolate in the house but it doesn't really bother me (although I do like Starbars and Curly Wurlys). In between Christmas and New Year 2010 I really went off wine (got really drunk on it) and I managed to lose a stone and a half (included giving up cheese and crisps which are my downfall too lol) but just cant seem to get out of the habit of having a drink while I'm watching tv or on the computer! My cousin does the Zumba classes so I will ask her what it's like. I work 5 days a week and used to walk for an hour 4 days a week and that really kept my weight off but since my walking partner left work last July I dont bother. Will try and get back into that next week. Wish me luck. Gail

Lovely reading all your posts.
I went to class last night and maintained - happy as I had only given it about 75%. :que Why because I hd not been focussed or done any planning - well I have now. Made 2 batches of soup - spicy lentil and curied butternut squash also there is now moussaka and spag bol in the freezer.
On a good note I won the raffle - huge shopping bag full of potatoes, carrot, parsnips, onions, satsumas, plums and pears. :D
Off to Zumba tonight - will let you know how it goes?
