no more thomas cook premium then? oooh-errrr, sounds like a big decision, i am sure alot of peeps will be a bit disappointed by this if true, i don't rate them as wonderful after my last holiday, but i can see why its the best choice for many travellers, especially those who want a bit of peace and quiet...it's a shame really for those who rely on it being available when they choose their holiday-i wonder if it's just the premium service they will pull or will they actually start moving seats aorund too? i also wonder how many long haul holiday-ers will choose thomson/firstchoice now because of this, certainly food for thought...
pansypotter beat me to it then-sounds like good news then for you
I have just spoken to T. Cooks helpline regarding premium seats for next summer and she says they will be available but it is too early to book them as they have not been downloaded yet. She said I could phone T. Cook Airlines and ask them when they will be out. Have tried this but I can't get through it keeps saying they are very busy and just cuts off.
Strange isnt it how they have always been available at brochure launch in previous years.
It isn't true that Thomas Cook are removing the premium cabins from their aircraft. They are too much of a revenue earner for that! Because the summer 2011 flights and holidays have only been released this week, they just aren't available to book for the moment.
Thanks Darren. Knew I could rely on you.
just rang that number and spoke to the very pleasant lady who said she will deal with my query personally
got a call back in about 20 minutes and we are now all sorted
thanks again
Thanks Darren, I am going to hang fire and wait. I don't suppose there is any rush to book yet.
Thanks Darren. Knew I could rely on you.
I was only going on information from thomas cook itself, confirming that tc premium wouldnt be available next summer, dont shoot the messenger.
Hi Darren - we're flying Manchester - Kephalonia in August - flight no TCX914K. Which plane is it & what's the seat configuration please? Any ide of the film - not asing for much am I Thanks in advance for the reply
Apparently not but many thanks for trying. Still can't get through to TCA but they are still selling flights on the Tuesday so might be OK.
Cheers

For a Thomas Cook flight from Gatwick to Punta Cana is enough for me to come at the airport two and a half hours before? If I have places reserved in advance (I hope to take its until September)!
I've just tried to look at the seats available for my flight to Kephalonia in August. I go to the "your seats your choice" and enter all the information that is asked for. My flights then show up, but there's nothing there for me to book my seats. It just says that API cannot be entered until 28 days before. Does this mean that I can't book seats until I can fill in the API details?

If you enter with your name and the reservation number, add flight numbers and then continue, the pictures of airplane seats will appear!
My story is longer - it's in the previous pages. I book the trip from Travelrepublic and Thomas Cook do not recognize the payment already made (at travelrepublic, of course, for your site your choice)!!!
Yes Irina - that's where I've been trying to do it. I can't get any seats up at all - but it does show all my flight details. I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks
There actually , contrary to what others may think, a slim possibility that PREM could be pulled. It is not a mega money earner, passengers don't want to pay more now...passenger duty tax has shot through the roof (the reason why Canadian Affair asked TCX to put 30 seats BACK IN 3 x a330s this summer) , so more seats equals more revenue.
It could happen!!
and there is info on the net about TCX35K a charter flight flying tuesdays from glasgow to puerto plata in dominican republic....
also a flight from glasgow to orlando which is TCX25K..........says Glasgow Orlando TCX25K++P....could there have been a typing error.....though when I to check this out got details of it beimg on a saturday at 12.15................thomson have a flight sat as well at 10.30

things arent adding up they dont make sense .......tweetie
have edited to update.......if you go on the thomascook holiday web site.....the info you give runs true .....there are 66 holidays to sanford orlando with that flight time on tue 31st aug....so if anythings not right there will be a lot of people in the same boat.....if you click alternative dates the chart also gives a sat flight
same info for flight only from skyscanner...states its a charter and reads as below
Tue 31 Aug 2010
10:30
14:35 GLA Glasgow International
SFB Orlando Sanford flythomascook.com charter
9h 05 TCX35
MAN-KEF-MAN (TCX914K/L) are operated by a Boeing 757-200 normally. You'll find the link to TCX's inflight magazines on our What Aircraft? Guide (link below) that includes IFE information for the current quarter.

The recommended check-in time for long haul flights is 3 hours in order to have enough time to check-in, pass through security, do your shopping, have refreshments etc. If you are travelling at a busy time of year, I would advise you stick to the recommended times. However if it's a quieter time with smaller exptect queues, then 2.5 hours would be fine.
Darren
Many thanks for going to so much trouble, much appreciated. I only checked TC's & FlyTC's websites and they were only saying Saturday flight and no mention of a Tuesday one.
I checked Glasgow Airports website as they provide both Scheduled & Charter flight timetables but again both said Saturday only.
I feel a lot better after you managed to find so many holidays and mention of the flight on other websites so I think I will be OK.
My big concern was that they were speculating that the flight would fill up but if it didn't they would just shift us to the Saturday one which doesn't suit our booked accommodation.
Again many thanks for putting my mind at ease.
Robbie
