amstel,

Welcome onboard :tup
Further to BY-TOM-AMM-FCA's post, your flights are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find lots of aircraft information including seat plans, aircraft and cabin photos on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Hi Darren

Hope you are well?

I am (fingers crossed) off to Cancun on Friday from Gatwick. Can you let me know which inbound flight I should be looking out for in case of knocks on from today, or have Fridays flights not been affected yet? What do you think the chances of getting off on Friday are?

Cheers in advance

SAEAGLE,

I wouldn't like to guess to be honest. With all the disrupton with the weather down in Gatwick at the moment, the schedule is going to be all over the place with aircraft and crews likely out of position since Gatwick is SNOCLO (snow-closed) until at least 6am tomorrow (at the moment). Even then, there's going to be a backlog so the schedule won't be running as normal. There was 7 inches of snow overnight aparently that's caused the problems. Assuming no more snow (but it's forecast), things should start to get back to normal tomorrow but I would be expecting a delay. Is it the TOM062/3 you're on? It's normally an ad-hoc cruise charter flight to Montego Bay or (TOM058/9) or Barbados (TOM057/8), but I can't see one for tomorrow. Further details of effected and rescheduled flights are on Thomsons website. It might be worth contact the airline tomorrow for the latest on your flight.

Hi Darren

As Always thanks for the quick reply. I saw that there was another forecast of about 8 inches this evening, and the airport is not opening till 10am now.

Yeah thats the flight we are meant to be on, so hopefully things will start to improve. I did check with the airline but apparently they wont know till tomorrow 4pm I believe. I will be keeping everything crossed that things sort themselves out.

Cheers as always Darren.

Afternoon

Flying to Punta Cana on 20/1/10 from Manchester, returning on 3/2/10, flight Tom 104/105 refers.

This time last year, the ex Thomsonfly 763ERs were being used. Is it the same this year or will a ex FCA be used?

Cheers in advance

Fergmeister,

A former Thomsonfly 76W is operating the TOM104/5 currently, principally G-OBYJ.

Evening Darren

Our flight Tom062 (Cancun) has been listed as 4pm tomorrow, do you have any ideas which plane they will be using? Will it be the short haul one? Otherwise I noticed there was earlier one going, what do you think the chances are of getting on that one.

As always thanks in advance

SEAGLE,

I'm mobile at the moment so don't have access to things. Even so, as I mentioned above, with all the disruption and schedule changes, it's difficult to work things out. If you haven't been notified of changes, your flight should be operated by the regular aircraft. However with the disruption, aircraft may change for operational reasons, ie get passengers away and the schedule back on track. I can check in the morning for you if that's not too late. If it is, have a great holiday.

SAEAGLE,

I've had a quick look on the schedule and it would make sense that the inbound flight from Goa (TOM083) arriving at 1425 will be going on to operate your delayed service to Cancun (TOM062) at 1600. The aircraft that operated the Goa flight was G-OBYD, the short haul aircraft. That's not to say it will definately be operating your flight, but it operated the Goa.

Have a safe flight and great holiday :cheers :sun2

Hi Darren

Cheers for checking, our worst fears were confirmed at check in and we are on the short haul bird. How bad is the legroom really on it. Know there is nothing that can be done but may as well prepare myself for the cramped 11 HR flight. Though guess we should be glad that at least we are going. Do they reserve more of the plane so that we can at least stretch out.

Cheers for all info so far, and fingers crossed we get the proper plane on the way home

SAEAGLE,

It's not as bad as you imagine. I've been across the Atlantic on them a couple of times and even though it's 3" less seat pitch than the long haul, they're bearable. It's only the last 4 or so years that we've had the privilege of 33" seat pitch. This aircraft was standard prior to that. The centre seats aren't the nicest though, they do feel claustrophobic compared to the outer pairs. Given there are 328 seats on this aircraft rather than 283/258 on the long haul, there should be spare seats. I'm sure you'll have a pleasant flight and it's the bit afterwards that's the main thing. You'll normally disembark at gate 4 or 5 in CUN when you get there.

Have a great holiday and a few Corona's for us. Think of us in the subzero temperatures (-11c defrosting the car this morning!) while you're sipping cocktails on the beach :cheers

I think I may have a few cocktails and a couple of sleeping tablets before I leave. Might help me see things in a better light.

We have got 4A and B so hopefully I can stretch my legs in the aisle. I thought the seat pitch was 28 rather than 30. Here's hoping we get to experience premium on the way home.

SAEAGLE,

It's more 29-30". I've sat in 5A/B for 10 hours, you'll be fine.

Would you know which aircraft will be operating the TOM 119 Sanford to Manchester today?

Thanks.

Hi Darren,

Was just wondering if you can inform which aircraft type tomorrow Tom 132 Manchester to Barbados, also with all this silly weather do you know of any delay or equipment change,

Fantastic job on this site, kindly appreciated.

dreamweaver,

Manchester is operating pretty much to schedule at the moment as we've not had a massive amount of snow up here. There's a front due in at 1800 this evening though with a small amount of snow forecast, but nothing major. It's the temperatures that's the main problem up here, it was -11c when I was de-icing the car this morning and down to -15c in Salford! TOM132/3 are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. G-PJLO has been operating it mainly.
