That's certainly not the uniform I've been looking at for 9 hours earlier today!
They were wearing beige trousers / skirts and light blue shirts.
They looked very casual once the ties and jackets came off.
Thanks Darren
Although the picture hides it they are wearing blue shirts/blouses, you can just see it around the dark blue tie on the male CC.
Jamaica is notorious for a particular problem... of the herbal variety, although we mustn't "assume", I don't think we would be a million miles away from the truth...
And to answer XYSTER's question about width of the seat, the premium seats are noticeably wider.
Just checked with the wife - don't remember blokes wearing ties and the ladies certainly didn't have their scarves on for the whole flight - sounds a little impractible for 9 hours.
One thing I noticed about the premium seats - they don't half rock back and forth during take off / turbulence etc. - whilst our seats looked completely rigid!!
...as for the beige trousers/skirts - I wonder how long those will last after a few galley trolleys rubbed up against them...back to navy blue after one season?
Hiya
Hello iansaunderson,
As z.j.c. mentions, your flights are operated by a Boeing 737-800 (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? thread.
Darren
Iam flying from Manchester to Male next March, flight numbers are TOM 116 & 117. Do you have any idea what aircraft they use on this route also seating configuration, they advertise 33" or an upgrade to 36" (premium), Iam 6'2" tall and not sure how i will cope with the leg room, is it worth the extra to upgrade to premium or is that money best spent on the holiday?
Thanks in advance, Colin.
You will be on a Thomson Airways Boeing 767-300/ER (More info on our what aircraft? thread)
I have always found the 33" seat pitch to be enough and the money is normally better spent on something else, when on holiday eg a hotel room upgrade, as you will be in that for more time than you will be on the flight
Gower
I will repeat myself by stressing how narrow the ex-Thom seats are though!!! - wasn't helped by the armrest being right up against the gap between 2 windows to no dip in the side for me to lean into (if that makes sense).
Were flying to Larnaca on the 757-200 from M/cr, think its an old First Choice plane, would it be worth getting extra legroom seats? or can anyone let me know the best seats to ask for if I don't buy them
Seat pitch is 28" on this flight, all the seats are the same, so if you wanted extra legroom you would have to book that, and then you will be given the exit seats
Gower
Thanks.
Just as an addition, TOM116/7 are operated by a former First Choice aircraft. It'll all make sense when you look at the What Aircraft? thread Gower mentions.
Darren
Im going to Turkey, Bodrum on the 9th of July from Newcaste, is there any chance I could be flying on a First Choice aircraft??
Thanks!!
NCL-BJV-NCL (TOM764/5) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. It's normally a former Thomsonfly aircraft but they sway and change them all the time. 1 of the last 4 flights has been a former First Choice aircraft. It makes little difference really as they're pretty much the same inside other than the former Thomsonfly aircraft have the Boeing Enhanced Interior with slimline Recaro seats (giving you slightly more knee room).
Darren
Thanks for all the info, I will take the advice and put the money towards a room upgrade
Thanjs!
Can anyone of the Mods. please tell me who operates to Sharm el Shiekh, is it Thomsonfly or First Choice. We are flying out on the 30 Sept from Glasgow. I get a bit anorakish when it comes to planes. I remember we had Thomson flight to Majorca in 2003 and there seemed to be more legroom in the Boeing767. First Choice who we have flown with for the last 5years does seem a little more cramped . So the that was my final question, do you know what plane or model they use?. Thanks in advance, Stix,s hubby
