We had to pay a 'booking fee' to use the a la cartes at our hotel in Turkey this year (Belcekic Beach, in Olu D), I'm pretty sure you have to in Lykia World as well. So you might find its more common in 5* AI's in Turkey.
What is really bad, is that you should have been told before you booked not after It means you are being confined to the buffet unless you pay. Great if the foods good, but not so if it isn't
This year the food in the buffet was really excellent and we would happily have eaten there every night. At EUR7 per head for the a la carte I think it is still worth it - although exceedingly annoying when it was included in the price you paid for the holiday. What about asking the tour operator if they'll be giving you vouchers as is an amendment to the holiday? Just a thought and may not get anywhere...
according to first choice, it's 7.00 euro per person each time you dine a la carte. fc did say you could change holidays free of charge, but we are going to stick with Titanic as we are only there for a week. I was wondering if children have to pay as well. Our daughter is 2.
accommodation only sites - since we booked flights last year (see previous posts).
I'm looking to book soon - so any pointers would be most welcome !
Also interested to hear any new reports on the place if anone stayed at the end of last year?
Thanks !
Now we are into the New Year ...just wondering if anyone has seen any good deals for the Titanic on I'm looking to book soon - so any pointers would be most welcome !
Also interested to hear any new reports on the place if anone stayed at the end of last year?
Thanks !
I too have been scouring the web for new reviews of the titanic. We are going in May. Didn't see a review from JP the red who was going in Sept 06??
We are still none the wiser on the a la carte fee. Cosmos didn't seem to know anything about it.I noticed the mention of a chinese a la carte on some websites?? maybe it's new?
I have now spoken to someone at cosmos regarding charges for the a la carte restaurants. I was told that the hotel have to honour the all inclusive package we were sold, so no extra charge. We have also found out that they have changed our flight times to really civilised times.....result!!
we are going to the titanic at lara beach at th beginning of april. can anyone tell me what the weather should be like during the day and evening? are there any excursion firms operating at lara beach resort or is it best to book with you holiday firm? what currency is the best to use in shops markets and public transport. looking forward to your replies.
Finding accommodation only sites that do this hotel a real problem
There's quite a number that do it...(Travel Republic, Wintersunshine holidays, DIY Travel etc) but for some reason they all give prices and availability for 2 adults..... but if you try adding children it just comes up with no availability.. which is nonsense this time of year
I have contacted the hotel directly - they have given me prices but they are on the expensive side...I'm very reluctant to book with them because in all my DIY holidays, I've never found going to the hotel direct the cheapest option (always much cheaper going through an accommodation only website).
Any ideas where I can look ? I wonder why this is happening - the accommodation only sites don't seem to know why they have no allocation for families, so no help there
Eventually managed to get our accommodation only booked through a website called DIY Travel ..but even they had to ring their supplier for a quote to include the kids (thank you Ben ). Anyway, it was £350 less than the hotel wanted if we'd booked direct ..so I am WELL happy !!
Total cost of holiday (exc transfers) 2A/ 2C October 14th (for 7 nights from MAN) :
£776 - flights (day time flights !!!)
£680 - accommodation (couldn't get my cheaper quote from last year)
= £1456 - it may not be the cheapest option but I got my day time flights !
Can't wait to go now !
Ps Just need to get the transfers sorted - any ideas anyone ?

It is only a short journey to lara about 20 minutes and the titantic is one of the first hotels on the strip so I would think taxis would be cheap option
Thanks for that violet123 - could you give me a rough idea of cost ?
i realise we are 20 mins from antalya, but is there amarket place there?
went to a large very popular one not far from turgetreise which was fantastic last summer.Haggled loads of bargains!! loads of fun!
if no one is sure let us know when you lot all return, pleasssssssseeee
Click Here to add or read our reviews of this hotel.
we enjoyed the titanic hotel so much last year we are going back this year at the end of june. There is a market in antalaya its not realy big but theres plenty of stalls the taxies outside the hotel take you on a return journey for a few euros. cant wait to enjoy this quality hotel again.
Airport to Hotel in a Taxi will cost around 10 / 12 GBP's and yes it does take around 20 Minutes. If you do all your transactions in YTL ( New Turkish Lira ) it is better.Euro's and Dollars are taken but you do not get a good rate. There are Markets every day in Antalya but the best one's are the Wednesday and Saturday one's. Taxi Drivers know where they are. There is now a Bus service from outside the Hotel into Antalya Centre, cost 1.15 YTL each.Takes around 25 /30 minutes but much more interesting than a Taxi.Very hot during the day, but when the sun goes, you will need a sweater.Have a good holiday.
Just wondering if anyone can add any more hotel reviews for this place, or hints & advice ?
We are really looking forward to going in October, despite the fact our flight is now leaving a little later than planned (just what we wanted to avoid - oh, well )
Just phoned cosmos again to check the situation regarding charging for the a la carte restaurants. Last time I phoned they reassured me that the hotel would have to honour the booking conditions. This time they were deeply unhelpful and said basically....tough. They have reluctantly agreed to contact the hotel to clarify. Does anyone know any more about this? There haven't been many new reviews. Thanks.
Does anyone have any pictures of the kids facilities and playground if there is one? Also whats in the childrens games room as its mentioned you have to pay for this. They claim they are ultra all inclusive but seam to be charging quite a lot for other stuff.
Thanks
I posted a link which had loads of pictures of this resort on page 3 of this post.
Have you tried DIY Travel.com for a quote ???..they were loads cheaper than anyone else I could find at the time (you may need to ring them as child places weren't showing on their website) - perhaps they will price beat if not ..they seemed like nice people.
As for the transfers..we are just going to grab a cab at the airport and make sure we haggle to somewhere near the £15 mark..no more !!!!
