Hi again Emma02

When we went (not during peak time) there were always plenty of sunbeds by the pool and the beach. We were told not to put towels on the beachbeds but people still did - same as anywhere really! There are loads and loads of sunbeds and we generally went to breakfast at about 9am and then went poolside about 10-ish and got beds no problems.

Hope it helps. Looking forward to other Emma's reviews!

Thanks mrsgaz. That's good news. Can't bear the sunbed stress! Sun city in Olu Deniz was terrible, not nearly enough beds for the number of guests staying.
Cosmos have agreed to refund the difference regarding a la cartes. :D
We appreciate that all inclusive conditions change but their customer service was awful.
Roll on half term.

Well thats the Titanic off my list for 2008 if you have to pay for the al a cartes. Back to the drawing board!

It's annoying isn't it? A la cartes were top of our list. It doesn't feel like all inclusive when you have to fork out more money. The Barut Lara resort comes out top of all review sites (especially german and dutch sites). We chose Titanic because of the kids...all those slides! ...... and the a la cartes of course!

Am just back from a lovely week at the Titanic, about to do a review, please feel free to ask any questions.........................

Having problems accessing hotel review section, so will post review here.

Hotel is large and modern with good facilities, our room with clean and comfortable and all the furniture etc appeared brand new, we had a sea view room which was nice.
We used to have braekfast then head off to the beach which also had a bar on the pier, you could get a sunbed on the beach anytime of day, no probs. The childrens slide pool was very busy, we never managed to get a sunbed, tho we were never down till 9.30, elsewhere round the olympic pool or quieter pool near the vil,las you could always get a bed.
Lunch can be taken in the main restaurant, pancake tent or beach grill, we ate at the grill or main restaurant, both were good. Plenty for chilren, large playground with trampolines, and climbing frames, slides , sea saw etc, you can also hire kids electris cars for 5 euro for 30 mins. Inside the pirate ship is a small soft play area, tables for colouring, playdoh etc.
The main restaurant had a wide selection of food but did get very busy, this was the only real negetive. We ate in the italian and turkish a la carte for 7 euro per adult, kids free, they were both lovely and relaxing with good service and a choice of menu, have to book at guest relations, we never had a problem getting in.

Evenings we went to the mini disco at 9, then show at 9.45, the best were beach party with firework display and chinese acrobat show, after there was a band or entertainment at the pool bar then disco till 3am, drinks are included in the disco.

in summary, good hotel, huge pools, bit cold but worth takin the plunge! nice beach, good choice of drinks, cocktails and lots of choice in the main restaurant for all meals. entertainment team always had some sort of activity going on tho we didn't join in. Good hotel photographer, nice large picture for 6 euro each. Short tfr from airport, 15 mins, we were first drop off.

if anyone has any questions please contact me.............................go and enjoy!!

Hi,

Drinks, we drank the red and white wine and beer, not too keen on the rose, they offer a better wine at the a la carte's. never had to que for a drink, they also have a waiter walking round to bring drinks over to you. Cocktails are available from the lobby and amonia bar, they do a choice of about 10 and a daily special, also tea, coffee and fruit juice, soft drinks etc available. Also the usual gin, vodka, martini, rum, brandy etc only problem we had was asking for martini and lemonade and getting 2 seperate drinks!
Ice cream only available in the main restaurant 1pm till 2.30, then at the pool bar, 4.30 till 5.30 along with cakes.
Best buys are any fake desiger gear, jeans, tops , bags etc, Antalya has a nice harbour with restaurants, you can also get boat trips from here.
Tips...............at the beach party sit on the side nearest the sea, for the best view, children are allowed, they start with mini disco on beach then the show starts, won't give too much away! if you are going on any excursions, we didn,t there is a tour firm next to the pool bar, his prices are much cheaper, Thursday night is turkish nite with a market set up round the pool and camel rides for 5 euro.
we didn,t go to the bowling alley, they also have a games arcade near the pool bar, prices were a couple of euro's.
Take euro's everything is priced in euro's even the market wanted euro or srterling, we took no lira.

hope you all have a fun time..................wish i was there now!!

Forgot to mention, when you check in they ask you if you want towel cards, you exchange these daily at the towel desk for fresh beach towels then hand the towels back at the end of the day and your cards are returned for the next day. If you want towel cards you have to pay a deposit of 10 euros per towel card which you get back at the end of your holiday when you hand the cards back in.

One other thing, if you want to book the a la carte restaurants, you do this at guest relations, we never had a problem booking the day before and they are well worth it.

thanks for that its really helpful, also very similarto our last years holiday in bodrum.
last year we took liras and no euro but some sterling for the markets and we wish then we had the euros so we will definataly do that different.thanks to you!!!!

are the markets in antalya itself or just around the hotel? i loved going round them and bagging a few bargains!!!!

i take it that the food was spot on,so i better start that diet then!!

cheers, sallington :glynis

Hi Emma
Glad you had a good time. Was it as good as anticipated? You missed some terrible weather here. What was the temperature there?
Do you think the standard rooms will be big enough for four of us?
Was your sea view room at the front or side?
We'll be there this time next week.....can't wait.
Sorry....couple more questions....was it busy/full, many British kids?
What day is the beach party?
Thanks.

Hi

Sallington,

The market in the hotel was on Thursday night, not sure what day is market day in Antalya, when we went we just walked round the cobbled street near the harbour, lots of shops, and also there is a indoor bazaar open everyday. Also if you leave the hotel and walk right past the lares park hotel, there is a shopping centre next to the Delphin hotel.

Food was good, lots of choice, always rice, pasta, chicken, wedges or chips, large salad buffet and big selection of breads and desserts, then several dishes being cooked in woks and a different meat at the cavary. breakfast was cereals, fruit, breads, omlettes, fried and bolied eggs, pancakes, sausages, porridge etc...............i put on 4lb in a week!! If you get chance the a la carte's are lovely too, you can check the menu before you book, they also do a kids meal.

Emma,

Only a week to go, lucky you!!
We did have a lovely time, we had a standard room two twin beds that we pushed together and a bed settee that converted to a single for our daughter, we had plenty of room so you sh0uld be ok, our room was on level 5 (goes up to 8) on the side of the hotel, think the ones at the front are suites.still had a lovely view tho

The hotel was busy but it was only the kids pool with the smaller slides that were packed, you could always get a bed round the large pool and the beach always had lots of spare beds. Also the main restaurant got very busy around 8pm. Dinner was 6.30 till 9.00, we found it best to eat at 7.oo, they always had plenty of food, whatever time you ate it was just other guests not knowing how to que!

The mini club rep told us there were 5 british kids in the club, we met a few other british families but it is mainly german, russian, dutch. Our daughter played with some german kids on the beach and the language barrier didn't seem a problem!

Beach party was Wednesday, every day at breakfast you get a leaflet with that days activities, shows etc
Weather, it was about 25 most days, we had two cloudy days but it was still warm enough to swim.

Hope you both have a great time, look forward to hearing what you think!

Thanks again for all the info Emma.
Just can't wait to go. :D Work is torture this week.
Sorry to plague you with questions....but!! Were there many mossies around? I'm allergic to the little buggers. And.... did you notice any Smirnoff vodka (anasthetic for my allergic reaction, you understand!!)
Reply
Hi Emma,

We didn't use any insect repellant and didn't get bitten at all, didn't actually see any mozzies!
Not sure about the Smirnoff, didn't see any but we are not Vodka drinkers so it might be available, lobby bar had the best selection of drinks and cocktails so try there first!
You also get a mini bar restocked daily in room but this is only water, soft drinks and beer.

Enjoy

Thanks Emma. Great news about the mozzies. I got eaten alive in Olu Deniz two years ago....not a good look.
I have been looking at the weather forecast for the Antalya region and it says 19 and light rain for Friday!!! Hope it gets out of the way for next week. That must be pretty unusual for end of May.
Reply
I'm sure it'll be hotter than 19, was when we were there, we had a couple of really hot days, have you seen the new review for Titanic?
