Looking at renewing our family annual holiday insurance.
My daughter is now 18 and still in full time education.
I remember a policy last year that included her as a child up to 21 as long as she lived with us and was still in full time education.
Trouble is I can't remember which policy it was.
Anyone know of any policies that include the above.
Thanks

I've had a Nationwide annual policy for years. I know that I could get it cheaper elsewhere, but I am happy with the cover and they also cover various pre-existing conditions so I'll stick with them.
Never had to make a claim yet and that's when you really know how good your insurance is.

The following is from Children are defined as those up to the age of 22. Children over the age of 15 must be in full time education. Our family annual multi-trip policies cover children for independent travel on trips organised by schools or recognised organisations when supervised by adults. For full terms and conditions please refer to the policy document.

Good price too.
We are off to Belgium and Holland next week, and I need to purchase european breakdown insurance for the car and obviously personal insurance for us as a family.
£61.40 is what i have been quoted for a combined package, and that's with directline.
Is that a reasonable amount, or does anyone have any other recommendations please. Want a good deal of course .....
Thanks
I couldn't say whether that is a reasonable amount, as I have no recent experience of European breakdown cover. But have you tried any of the motoring organisations (RAC or AA) as they certainly used to be the specialists in this sort of cover ? In fact I have known the AA to undercut Direct Line quotes, and vice versa.
you could also try Green Flag for europe, for holiday insurance a list of members recomended providers is on page 1 of this thread
Just to say I have arranged holiday insurance for our forthcoming cruise with M&S. I have today informed them of a change in health of my daughter .She will need an op when we get back and they say, as the problem surfaced after we took out the policy ,she is totally covered for this condition.whilst we are away. I thought we would have to pay an additional premium so I am well pleased it's all sorted and bona fide re cover.
That's wonderful news hbrac. I'm sorry your daughter has a stay in hospital to look forward to when you get back but I'm sure the cruise will do her good and help to take her mind off it. Please give her all my good wishes for a speedy recovery and I hope you have a really lovely time.
Thanks so much Aslemma. Knowing her, she will ensure she enjoys herself whatever it takes !!!!!
they do instant quotes on the internet including the medical questions on line rather than having to phone.
Annual after 71 years, and my husband is nearly 72.
Today I have got a quote from AA Travel Insurance fo £160.36.
I am quite satisfied with this what do others think please?

Rob and I went to Gozo scuba diving..have all the insurance from DAN and PADI associated with diving as Rob is professionally qualified and it is a legal requirement but our holiday insurance was through the post office. We have house insurance through LLoyds and part of that covers sports equipment.
Whilst there, at a diving school in Xlendi, the safety rope holding the BCD's and cylinders snapped and Rob's went crashing to the ground, smashing both his mask and dive computer that were perched with his BCD. We had to buy another mask, costing 28LM ( which works out at approx £45) as hecan't dive without one and another dive computer which cost 124LM (approx £215).
I would like to claim for this but i am unsure as to whether to claim through our holiday insurance or not. As far as I can read, we are covered for sports equipment but obviously there is an excess of £50 to pay. I can produce reciepts for the equipment we had to buy out there and I can prove what I paid for the damaged equipment when it was bought over here, even though i no longer have the reciepts.
Can anyone advise me please?
Many thanks.
Ps.the diving school never even apologised for it's lack of safety or for the fact that Rob's equipment ended up broken.
We are 61 Mrs Newman and 67 Me, and for the last two years have purchased an annual policy from Money Supermarket for about £57, which appears extraordinary good value, we have never had a claim and as they say the policy is only any good when you have a claim. I would be pleased if you would have a look on Money supermarket and let me know how that policy compares to yours, we have insured with others ie Atlas but they discontinued insuring us oldies.
Hope to hear your comments, I have just had another look and it is now £62 with Elect Travel Insurance on that site.
Regards,
Dave
Can someone please advise if we are covered. We have a world wide annual policy which runs out April 2008 and we have just booked a holiday for Florida August 2008. Does our policy cover us for Florida until we renew the policy in April or do we need to take out a new one now that covers August 2008.
Call the travel insurance company and ask as every policy is different. I was covered for cancellation in similar circumstances with a policy from the Natiowide when I called them to check.

Looking at my travel insurance policy I was wondering if a couple of the general exclusions are standard for all companies:
"Any claim resulting from the tour operator, airline or any other company, firm or person becoming insolvent, or being unable or unwilling to fulfil any part of their obligation."
So if the holiday company, hotel or whatever goes bust I can't claim anything? Even if the holiday is cancelled or if I find myself stranded somewhere or without accommodation? Or does this exclusion actually mean something else?
"We shall not be liable under this insurance for any claims in any way caused or contributed to:
a The failure of
b The fear of the failure of
c The inability of
Any equipment or any computer programme to recognise, interpret correctly or process any date as its true calendar date, or to continue to function correctly beyond that date."
I presume this was introduced due to the millennium bug, but I wonder if it could be used as a get-out for any computer system or operator error involving dates?
I want the best cover, what should I be looking at cover wise, ie medical expenses, hospital benefit, legal protection etc.
Ive just had a quote for £70 for the whole family and that has £5.000 cancellation/curtailment, £10,000,000 medical and other expenses, £25 per day hospital benefit and £25,000 legal protection.
Ive never travelled long haul before but want the best cover.
any advice is appreciated,
thanks
Wendy
the one recomended by Which is netcover direct an internet provider,
Can anyone recommend any insurance companies which would cover her condition. She has never been abroad before and has only taken out cover for UK holidays and has got cover for everything except the coeliac, obviously we can't take a chance with USA though.
Many thanks.
