To pick up your other query, the card scheme providers understand the ATOL system and will advise customers to wait for their refund - I am not aware of any problem there.

Ali, that is interesting feedback, I will change the format of the postal receipt. You can check your booking on the Travelrepublic website in the Manage Your Booking section is what it means, but doesnt quite say does it!

Just a quick question! I have booked flyglobespan flights with TR who are a ticketless airline. Will TR send me the reservation code on my flight voucher or will flyglobepspan send me something direct? we don't fly until June but just checking!
Tell me if you dont. Our system restricts email receipt dispatch if a supplier booking ref is not present in the booking with all sorts of alarms going for our ops team to fix, so hopefully it will be there!

I used eBookers and wouldn't recommend them - they told me that baggage was included in the flights I booker through them, turned out it wasn't and cost me nearly an extra £100.00. They were no help and refused to help towards this.
have used travel republic many times ...........when things go well they are great ........."BUT"...when things go wrong they are a nightmare to deal with...........the choice is yours.............

we do have the booking reference number on the email. I just have to ask though it says to reconfirm my flights before departure and coming home...who do i reconfirm flights with. It just says online? on travel republic or on flyglobespan? Im just alittle unsure and dont want to miss my flight

I have booked return flights quite often through travel republic and they are fine
They've been around for some time and have won many awards over the years.
Not used them myself, but will probably give them a go this year as my usual provider, WSH Travel, have sadly gone to the wall.

Hi i booked my holiday with them online got a call the next day to tell me the price had gone up by £130. i told them i did not want to go ahead with the booking and i will re search another holiday
I booked a hotel with them in turkey last year but changed my mind when a better one came availiable through them. They were great and transferred over the deposit id paid onto the new hotel booking so I even ended up saving money. the email replies can be a bit slow coming back you may do better to phone them - the 020 number is a london one i think and so not too expensive. I have always found them to be really good - am on my 5th holiday booked through them,

PS some of the reviews on hotels I have found are full of moans and when you get there yourself you are pleasently surprised - maybe it wont be as bad as you think!!??
I booked flights with travel republic then accomodation to go with them 2 days later. Was advised to go down the credit card route when the flights were cancelled (XL) my credit card did refund me but have since decided they dont want to pay, they are taking the money back again in 6 weeks. In the mean time I have put in a clain with the CAA but they havnt even looked at it yet. Am I covered????

When your credit card wrote to you saying they were taking the money back, what justification did they give you for being able to do this ?
I thought that provided you paid over 100 pounds on your CC, you safe if things go wrong.
Just want to know as many of the regulars on here always advise people to book using CC's as a form of safeguard and from what you are saying, this hasn't worked for you.

they said that although they were giving me a refund they may take it back if they felt it was not their responsibility. there was a lot of jargon but that was the gist of the letter. they say I am covered by atol????
I just wanted my refund - I thought id done the right thing - booking using a credit card via a atol covered travel agant....feel very upset now.
the cc pay outs for xl flights have been discussed at length here and in the xl flight forum. There is a lot of confusion. Apparently it depends if your flights were with freedom flights or not. I originally put a claim in with my CC company as well as the CAA as I was getting conflicting info. At first it seemed as though the CC co. was going to refund me, then after quite some time they asked me if I'd chased it with the CAA and what did the CAA say? In the meantime, after a lot of telephone calls from me, the CAA gave me a claim number and so I'm led to believe that they're dealing with it. My Credit card company have however said that I needn't pay the amount off the CC yet, as the amount is in dispute. What a shame they decided this after I'd paid the bill
I'm still waiting for a refund 5 months after putting in the claims. It's a shambles!!!
