Hi Darren
Just been looking on v-flyer and it seems that VA change their 747's around quite often even though they are the same aircraft - they might do Man to Orlando, Vegas and Barbados for a week or so and then fly back to gatwick. Why do they do this? Sorry this is a bit of an anorak question but don't understand why they are not based permanently at Manchest or Gatwick.
Thanks Darren
Malcolm
Malchester,
Thanks Darren
Hope you can answer this query. We are flying out of Heathrow to Dubai week on Friday - 12 August 10.00pm. Do you know where this plane comes in from prior to this flight and any liklihood of late departures on this route? We have only travelled Virgin twice and first time a 5 hour delay and second time a 4 hour delay, plus delays on the return flights. These flights were, however, MAN - MCO so not the same route.
Thanks for any advice
Jan
Please supply your flight number(s) when requesting aircraft information as there are often several flights. This ensures we get the correct information for you and saves us having the dig them out. Is it the VS400 you're on? It operates to one of several destinations before your flight, there isn't a specific flight. It's one of Shanghai (VS250/1), Tokyo (VS900/1) or Los Angeles (VS023/4).
Darren
Sorry. I meant to add the flight number. Yes, it's VS400 on Friday 12 August out of Heathrow and VS401 back from DXB to LHR on 27 August. Thanks for the information re VS400. Interesting to know.
Thanks again.

Virgin returns to profit
Virgin Atlantic is to invest £100 million in product development after reporting a strong year of trading and a return to profit.
Its full-year pre-tax profit was £18.5 million, compared to a loss of £132 million a year ago.
Meanwhile, 2010/11 revenues were up 13% to £2.7 billion with load factors of 82%.
Despite the winter closure of London Heathrow and the ash cloud crisis costing the business a combined £40 million, the airline said strong growth in business traffic and solid load factors across all cabins delivered a good recovery.
The performance of its tour operator business, Virgin Holidays, was also driven by high demand for its core Orlando and Caribbean holidays.
The operator is doubling its UK retail network to 120 stores, creating 200 jobs nationwide.
Chief executive Steve Ridgway said: "We have demonstrated the resilience of our business by weathering the toughest economic period for aviation and have now returned the business to profit.
"A sharp recovery in the first half of the year has been tempered by more challenged trading in the latter period due to increased capacity in the market and high fuel prices.
"Since the turn of the year, market conditions have become tougher with increased capacity, faltering consumer confidence and high fuel prices.
"We are also seeing softer trading in the areas that are hit hardest by the continued rises in Air Passenger Duty, particularly the Caribbean routes and Premium Economy cabins. Whilst business traffic remains strong, demand in the economy cabin is more challenged."

Anyone know if you can use Virgin Miles towards Virgin cruises....I can't find a place where you can log in on the site either
Never tried. Suggest you look at their web site or give them a ring to ask.
The rules are as follows;
Miles required: 10,000 for £50 voucher or 20,000 for £100 voucher, towards Virgin Holidays Cruise packages that include flights and accommodation. Vouchers may only be redeemed when booking directly with Virgin Holidays Cruises.
Thanks bee free.....I don't have quite enough to get £100 off but then £50 off is better than nothing

You'll need an aircraft adapter for your headphones (twin mono to stereo). You can get these in Asda and electronics outlets such as Maplin.
Darren
Thank you bought one on Ebay.
vegasone,
thanks for your help.
I'm flying VS15 (LGW-MCO) on 20 October and wondered what routing and flight number the plane will be operating prior to my flight?
Thanks, John
