Hi,
Going to the Aquasol in mid June with 2 grandchildren, any advice please on Waterparks to keep them happy.
My neice told me it was cheaper to book her waterpark tickets from here when she went to Salou last year. Anyone know if the same would appy?
Prices plus how far/near are they to the Aquasol would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Janet
Hi Janet,
If this is the Aquasol in Palma Nova you're nearest water parks are at the back of Magaluf. If you click on the link below it's a map of Magaluf and Palma Nova.

As the map shows you are about 15 minutes walk from both Aquapark and Western Water, which are themselves only a couple of minutes walk from one another.
Unless someone wants to contradict me, the best way would to be to book your tickets in the resort a day or two before you intend to go - so that you can be sure it's forecast to be a nice day. I've known people pre-book tickets only to find that the weather is a little overcast, or occasionally raining. Also you will almost certainly get a better deal at the local "agencies" dotted around Magalluf and Palma Nova. They get about 20% commission from the parks, and often they give you some of that commission back, since they are competing with other agencies and of course the Holiday reps. I've posted this before, but I know of a family of 3 who paid €70 to their Holiday rep for Western Water, only to find that they could have got the same deal (without transport) for only €29 - the taxi would have cost them €5 maximum!
Hope this helps,
Adam
We went to Portals Nous last year during August . We planned to go to Western water park. On the day we went when we arrived at the car park there were about 24 coachs unloading people at the entrance with more arriving by the minute. I think this is because it is owned by the major tour operators & they run excursions to it from all over majorca. We decided to go to Aqualand which is over the road . This was really good ( didn't see any coachs), queues were about a max of 5mins for most of the rides & there is lots for smaller children there also. We could see the queues in western water park & they look horrendous. So if you want my advice i would go to Aqualand. There are various discounts you can get when you are over there, we used a voucher from a happy meal in Mcdonalds which gave us 15% off.
Thanks everyone, some really good info. there.
can anyone tell me if there is a waterpark in playa de palma going in july with grandchildren aged 8& 11 so hope there is one not to far away
Jeanie
In Arenal - the next resort you will find Aquacity, this would be the closest to Playa de Palma.
Does anyone know if there is a waterpark in or near Cala Millor?
There is a water park in Alcudia which may be a tad nearer but friends who went last year said it was much smaller and not nearly as good as the ones in Magaluf and Arenal. However, I only went to the Western Water Park which was fab but didn't go the one in Alcudia so couldn't personally add my own comments.
Many brilliant rides and things to do.
The heat can be a bit intense over there as well so make sure you are sorted for suncreams and everything else before you go.
It was not too busy the last time we went- the food is excellent.
One ride I would recomment is the one where you climb up the mountainside and site in a big raft.. cant remember the name sorry.
You have never known fear until you go down the tube in that ring as it does feel like you are going to go up the side and out onto the mountainside!
And I fell from the step into the shallow pool getting into the ring as well which was hillarious for the people in the queue and the watching attendant.
Still, made people a little happier....
Also had a display involving eagles;owls;etc which was a good break from the water. Also a high diving show that was good fun - you get fairly wet at the front The other waterpark close by did seem quieter, tho' I don't know why
Went there in October, the kids loved it, lots of places to eat/sunbathe, and lots of rides for kids & adults to enjoy. Beware though when choosing a sun bed as I think I am right in saying that if you move around to sunbathe in another part of the park then you may have to pay again for a sunbed as it is the sunbed itself that is marked as having been paid for, not per person (if you know what I mean)!
Would also advise to pay the small charge to have your clothes/valuables looked after in the 'locker room', its well worth it.
Have fun!
DONT go to the Aquapark in El Arenal....we got told by the reps that it was the biggest one in Majorca....NOT!! Its way too hot, way too far and queues are enormous...youll have a hard time finding the slides which are miles from each other. The best bit was the reps BBQ at the end....
Stick to Magaluf!!
Visiting Santa Ponsa in June and want to visit one of the water parks in Magaluf - which one is the best. There will be 3 of us - 2 adults and a five year old.
yes i second that kez, a great day out
Hi Carmel,we went to both waterparks last year and found the western water park by far the best, especially with you having children aswell. My little girl was five at the time and she loved it.Have a nice time
Can i also agree that Western water park is great, has something for all ages
