The nearest is probably Hydro Park in Alcudia. By car it will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour to get there. I can give you directions if you want them.

Hi Suzanne,

Directions would be great, thank you :)

If you head out of Sa Coma in the direction of Son Severa. Once you have driven through Son Severa, follow signs for Arta. In Arta follow signs for Can Picafort and Alcudia. The road between Can Picafort and Alcudia is very long and very straight. The closer you get to Alcudia the more built up the area becomes. Hydro Park is very well sign-posted once you reach Alcudia. You will finally see a large roundabout where you need to take the last exit. Hydro Park can be found along this road on the right-hand side. It has a very large car park.

When are you going to Sa Coma? We fly out in 3 weeks time and are staying at the Vista Badia.

Good luck with my directions.

Thanks Suzanne, that's great, I will print these out for my hubby.

We are also flying out in 3 weeks but staying at the Coma Gran. This will be our 4th visit to Sa Coma, we love it but have never ventured out to the waterpark before.

Thanks again for your help, have a great holiday :fly

Anyone know if that famous Spanish fast food outlet (McD's) are giving the free tickets to Aqualand for children away again this year with their "Happy Meals" as you can save a fortune with these and seeing as in 6 weeks time I have 4 kids to keep entertained these might just save some dosh, ready to spend in the bars later at night!!!

there are two waterparks on the edge of magaluf which is less than 10 mins in a taxi from santa ponsa... western water park and aqualand, both across the road from one another. i would book from an independant outlet... in santa ponsa i used the one right beside the main roundabout... where you can get a taxi and where the buses stop. cost about 15 euro but will depend on time of season and a taxi will cost about 6 euro to the waterparks.

as for the timeshare reps i seen them around santa ponsa, the guy didnt approach me once but i think they have a radar so they can spot the tourist a mile of... fortunately i was a resident at the time (did 3 years in santa p) and had a good tan... so much so the spanish mistook me for being spanish half the time! lol!

Has anybody visited the waterpark in Alcudia from the Cala Millor/Cala Bona area? Last year I went to the waterpark at Arenal via one of the local tour companies but it is quite a long trip. Wondered if any local companies do trips to the Alcudia park or is a taxi feasible? (don't drive unfortunately  )

Can anybody advise which of the waterparks would suit family of 4 swimmers and 2 doggy paddlers? We went to Western Park last year and enjoyed it but wonder should we try Arenal or Magaluf - Aqualand or Aquacity?

Distance doesn't matter as we have a car but would love to hear of others experiences? Secondly has anyone visited the Typewriter museum at the waterpark in Arenal?

Thanks in advance

We had a fantastic day out at the western waterpark when we were there last week. Rides to suit adults, teenagers, young kids/families etc. As well as brilliant shows. You have to try to see the high divers - amazing.

Hi, we're going to Magaluf in September and fancy a day at the western water park - I'm taking my 3 year old niece though, are there enough things there that she will be able to go on? She'd be quite happy just in the pools to be honest but no doubt when she sees my nephews going on slides etc she'll want to join in.

Thanks

The one near Arenal is nice but be aware that in the high season you have to queue for an hour to get on the bigger slides. It was a fantastic park but this was a real pain...........

We were there last week with our friends. There was: one 7 yr old; one 5 yr old; one 4 yr old; one 3 yr old and a 9 monther !!

They had a ball. There is a lovely pool bit with slides just as you come into the Park which is specifically aimed for the younger kids. They spend ages playing there. There are also a couple of family rides: you get in a raft (takes up to 5 people) and go down a long windy slide (like a river). There is also a similar family ride which is enclosed like a tunnel. Even the baby was going on these rides.

The shows are good too. Plenty going on for her to see and do.

Lots for you adults too - you have to try "The Beast" - which is a very high, near vertical slide. Just don't look down. SCARY !!

The western water park is fantastic. Watch out for the rubber ring ride though. The one where two people go down the water shoot together. I ended up breaking my nose because my 18 year old (at the time) son was behind me on the rubber ring. We went down the shoot ok until we got to the bottom and then i went under the water first and he came down and hit me in the face with his foot.

The people in the park took me to see the on site doctor and fixed me up. I was back in the water within half an hour.

Skyegal - thanks for the info, sounds perfect, my nephews are 7 and 5 so sounds like we will all have a great day out. Was at waterworld in Ayia Napa a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic day so was looking for the same sort of thing in Majorca.

Thanks again

Here are the links for two of the waterparks in Majorca:

http://www.aqualand.es/magaluf/mallorca/index.php?wlang=en Magaluf

and

http://www.aqualand.es/elarenal/mallorca/index.php?lang=en Arenal

We tried the Western Waterpark but didnt rate it. Then again, it was a few years ago and had only been open a little while. We have been to the one in Arenal (although it was called Aquacity then) and thought it much better. Not been to the one in Magaluf so cant comment.
