Hi Katie,

I got married in Paphos last Sept and used http://www.freetimetours.com Michele is the wedding co-ordinator and arranged everything for us. The flowers, cake, hair, cars, reception, table decorations photos etc... You name it, she does it. Her fee is very reasonable too. We had our reception at the Atlantida beach restaurant which was gorgeous. Take a look at the website (we're actually on the pics for the Atlantida!) drop her an email, she really is very helpful. :D

Good luck!

Thankyou everyone! I'm really looking forward to it now, we only just noticed today that our insurance was wrong as they had it starting from the 1st september instead of the 30th aug, So we've just been in the travel agents to sort that out. it's a good job we checked.

I'll speak to you all when i get back & I'll give you a full report of what happened.

Is the affridaviat the one you get when you've been divorced or is the one i've had to get just to confirm i'm single which is the staturatory declaration (spelling) if it's the one i've got then ours was £5 each if it's the other one i haven't got a clue. Sorry i might not be much help.

Hi stacey06

Yes its just the one to say you are single, my partner just asked for affidavit, thats prob why is £70. Which solicitor did yo use, a local or national one? Will get him to ring other solicitors for quotes.

Furball
Its a letter signed by a solicitor basically saying you are both free and single to marry. Its a legal document which is required for people marrying in cyprus.

Has anyone else had one done yet? and how much did you pay?

Hi
We had ours done by a local solicitor and were charged £10 each. You need to have a solicitor with a stamp actually saying Solicitor on it - sounds strange but there is only one solicitor in Liverpool with this, so make sure you check this out.
Hope this helps

Hi shartley

It was just a local solicitor that did it, come to think of it i think it was £10 each not £5. I would also let everybody know that when i was getting this letter because my middle name was on the letter & on my birth certifacate but it's not on my passport i had to get another letter off the solictor stating that i am the person that's on the passport, the travel agent said they wouldn't accept it in cyprus because my middle name wasn't on my passport so just make sure your name exactly the same on all documents.

Well i'm getting picked up in an hour to go the airport so i'll speak to you all soon.

My wife and i got married 3 years ago in ayia napa in the monastry with first choice holidays. They were great and it was the best time ever getting married in the morning then nissi beach in the afternoon before hitting ayia napa in the evening. I can recomend it 100% 8)

i had my statutory dec but my solictors office did not have a stamp that said 'solicitor', i spoke to thomsons and they said as long as it was on company headed paper that would be fine, does that sound ok to you everyone? ( how strict are those rules ? )
(their company stamp which is on there only says 'legal services')

anyone who has been out there to get married get in touch asap please as i am quite worried about it now !
