Hiya
We are considering having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Grecian Bay Hotel and was wondering if anyone has been and seen a wedding, attended a wedding there? If so what was it like?
I seen one hotel where the wedding ceremony is outside but there are lots of sunbeds surrounding the venue (Capo Bay)!! I want the ceremony and meal to be quite private without people sunbathing round about us!! The girl at the Grecian Bay has sent a picture of the ceremony venue and it looks lovely but it's difficult to tell sometimes from a picture I think. Also no picture of where the meal and party would be held.
Thanks
Lillian
lillian - we got married and had our reception at the G Sands hotel on 19th july 2006. the G Bay hotel is about 3 hotels away from each other. we never did get to see what the G Bay hotel looks like, but our wedding and reception meal was the best we could ask for. we had it in the little chaple about 5pm, and then a meal on the 1st floor at 7.30pm while the sun was going down. as we had the chaple wedding we saw no sun bathers as the chaple is out the front of the hotel, if you had your wedding on the sea view deck there will be people around watching. but look into the G Sands hotle, could not fault it and the manager really looks after you
how is everyone getting on with their planning?
I'm getting married at Grecian Park Hotel on 22nd September....not long now.
My Mum is staying in the Protaras area, just wondered whether anyone knows of a good hairdressers in Protara....that would just blow-dry and put a tiara feather style hair accessory in.
If anyone knows of any one that would be great.

Just wanted to ask what everybody is thinking of doing for reception. I can't seem to make my mind up I don't think I want a sit down meal (bit too formal). I like the idea of a bbq or something in the hotel gardens, but don't know how you go about it. We are staying at the Athena Beach, if anyone has any tips, we would really appreciate them.
Cheers

And does anyone have any pictures.
only 3 day's to go and we are off we get married on the 12th, can't wait
On the subject off stat dec's, our solicitor did'nt have a stamp either, we had ours typed up on their headed paper, and our planner said that was ok as long as it says the words solicitor/s on it. I e-mailed copies across to her and she said that they were perfect.
hope this helps
bye for now will post when we get back

Good luck with your wedding, they are all coming round so quickly. 7 weeks to ours.
How much did your stat dec cost to be typed on headed paper? we have been quoted £70 each plus vat, but £10 if not on headed paper. Have emailed town hall as argo holidays who we have booked through are insistant that we need head paper but everywhere else i have looked says not, even solicitors we have contacted say they do several a week and have not done any on headed paper, oh the joys!!! will be glad when all sorted.
Hi everyone 6 weeks to my wedding and still have loads to do. Time does fly mines come round so quick.
£70 is a bit steep ,
we paid £10 for both of ours, we went down and were sworn in, and we signed everything, but as i said they had no stamp, so they stapled a business card to them. When i sent them to our planner jenny, she said they were not acceptable. We went back and asked them to type them up again, on headed paper, they did that and a few days later we went back to resign. They only charged us £10 no VAT or anything.
If i were you i would have a look around.
good luck with everything,
xxx
Ours came to £15 all stamped and on headed paper. Look around as that sounds far too steep, you will find it cheaper than that. Good luck and im sure everything will go well, as said we got married in october in the monastry in aya nappa and had a really great time and all went smoothly. Yours will be fine, just double check everything in plenty of time before you go and enjoy it when you get out there.
has anyone used the aphrodite wedding services marriages in cyprus, they have a wedding package, aphrodite 3 which includes everything she would have wished for, it is my daughters wedding in october 2007'it includes all flowers, transport ,fees, outside wedding overlookong the sea, dvd, decorations ,photos and many extras, approx £2000

I have just come back from my friends wedding in Golden coast pernera, really lovely, i went to a hair dressers on the main road to ayia napa, called the cutting house hair studio(cape greco avenue), 4 of us went, and only 1 of us liked our hair, we didnt think she was particular helpful. the place where my friend went, 3 went there, and they did a really good job, it is on the main street running through protaras opposite bells pub, it was a tattoo studio as well,im getting married next year in May and i am going to that hairdressers, sorry cant remember the name, hope this helps.
also i need pictures of hair photos, all the uk bridal magazines and ive not seen any nice up hairdos, obviously im going to have to take my ideas or print them off for cdw to do for my wedding.
thanks furball
I have been to my local hairdressers for some trials and i took pictures so i will take them out with me.
As for flowers i still dont have a clue maybe drop in some flower shops in Paphos before the day to give me some idea.
Happy planning Tracey.
