Annette,
have you tried emailing the wedding co-ordinator at nissi beach? he has been very helpful with all enquiries i have had. or you could go back a few posts, and try to find Nick the DJ. he has emiled me a couple of times, and could probably help you? also, have you decided on a restaurant away from the hotel? we have booked the rondavel beach bar for our reception.
Jenny
Hi Jenny
i also am getting married at capo bay and i am using aphrodite weddings, if you go to their site there are photos on there of capo bay weddings.
also they have e mail addresses of people who have used their services.i got these and e mailed a few happy couples and they kindly sent me some of their wedding photos via e mail.
as i say i am using aphrodite so not sure if just anyone can get these e mail addresses.
The cyprus piper kev: i was just wondering do you live in cyprus and how do you know so much about weddings there? sorry being nosey!
Annetteplaister: i am not sure how close the olympic lagoon is from you but i have been told we are close to where you are. our restaraunt has come highly recommended and is called the garden of eden. Jenny at aphrodite is organising mine and has sent me some pics if you would like to see them then let me know i will be happy to send them to you
Margret: i am getting married at the olympic lagoon on 26th july 2007. as above i have photos of the restaraunt and i also have the menus for the hotel if you are still organising that and some photos of the hotel that jenny from aphrodite sent me. let me know if you want to take a peek? Clair
Yes I do live in Paphos, Cyprus moved out lock, stock & barrel last May (should have done it ages ago) I am also a scouser, too comical for my own good & talented.
I don't suppose there is anyone who can say they know everything & I am no exception to the rule, but I do get myself around as I play the bagpipes at weddings across the whole island. I formulate packages to suit individual Wedding Couples to make their day special. I also liase with wedding planners / Tour Reps/ Wedding Photograhers & Videomen to formulate a plan, so that we are singing from the same hymm sheet so to speak. This is evident in my home town paphos where the photographers are coming into my line of thinking & creating a day to remember. As everyone knows anyone can get married esp in Cyprus (it's like being on a conveyor belt In & Out) But it is how you get married, so my motto is Who's walking you down the Isle.
Anyway I believe talk is cheap, browse my website to see how other Couples thought
regards
Kev the scouser
Hi i wonder if anyone could help me, my other half and i want to get married in cyprus next year we would be really grateful if anyone could point us in the right direction as we're not really sure how to go about it. Also if anyone could tell us how much on average it costs,we want to get married on the east coast at the capo bay hotel unless we find anywhere else that we like and we would probably have around 25 guests. we stayed in protaras last year and saw a few weddings at the capo bay and they looked lovely, any replies you could give would be really helpful.
This reply is for those of you getting married in the Capo Bay. We have stayed there a few times in recent years. Our sunbeds were on the grassed area on a slightly lower level than the pavilion used for the wedding ceremony. The grassed area is mostly used by couples as families tend to prefer to be nearer the pool area. The pavilion itself overlooks the Med and is nicely done up with white covers on the chairs etc, don't think the presence of the holiday makers interfered with the celebrations at all, although it is in a public area and people in bathing costumes will be passing by. At one wedding one of the bridesmaids sang a beautiful song for the bride and groom and had everyone in tears both at the ceremony and on the sunbeds (even my husband), she got a large round of applause from us all. Also there are plenty of lovely places within the grounds of the hotel for wedding photographs as the landscaping is very good, also a large cascading pool full of coi carp. Don't know how to attach a photograph or I would. Also saw a couple of wedding receptions in the Pavilion Bar area which looked really nicely done up with white balloons, netting etc. One thing I would say is that when we go in August it is usually quite windy, not sure if it is like that all year round, but wherever you go in Protaras the wind would be there so dont let that influence you. There is also a hairdresser in the hotel who I believe offers a full bridal package, have not tried them so cannot say if they are good or otherwise.
I hope wherever you decide to get married you all have a wonderful day and many years of happiness ahead.
Wilma
Does anyone have any contact details or pictures of the Garden of Eden restuarant near Nissi Bay.
Annette
I am completely new to this.
My hubby and myself are eager to organise a day to remember over in Paphos. A renewal of our marriage vows after 35 years, what an achievement!!
Can anyone advise me who we can contact to arrange a small celebration for around 12 people.
Thanks for your help
Im getting married in Protaras on June 4th 07 and have booked through Olympic holidays, has anybody had any experiences with them if so I would be happy if they could share their opinions. Its getting close now and im so afraid of something going wrong. Also if somebody can please let me know about birth certificates, my partner and myself have had to get certified copies aswe had not got original, do they be accepted?
Hubby and I got married at the Golden Coast hotel in 2005, Pernera, Protaras, so if you require any information/assistance on this hotel or the surroundings, I would be happy to help.

only 4 months to go, have heard nothing but great feedback so a lot of the big worries and apprehensions are gone.
i'm now more interested in the little details.
anyone getting married in july or been in july. i'm not sure wether to hire the full suit for the men. will they be too hot in jackets. whats everyone else doing. would they survive in lighter fabric suits or should i just do waistcoat and cravat?
are your men wearing dark or light trousers/jackets? what fabric/ colours have you all chosen? i will have five suits so if i go all white will i look like i have westlife at my wedding
am hoping to decide and book this week so any feedback appreciated
Hi, my son is getting married in Protaras in May, we are having a meal afterwards, but wonder if anyone has any ideas what we can do for the evening, I thought at first a boat trip but the bride, groom etc will want to stay in their outfits, so wonder if there is any other thing else we could do, we will have children with us. We were offered a disco at £200.00 but there will only be 20 of us and we are having a party when we come back, it would be nice to do something we would all remember in the evening.
happy st patricks day to all my fellow cyprus brides to be.
how are all the plans coming along, anyone heading soon?
mines not till july but have most of the big things sorted.
anyone bringing favours over, anyone doing a free bar?
hope the posts start picking up again soon, been very quiet lately.

So glad I've found this site. We haven't booked yet but my man and I are planning to get married in Cyprus May 2009 (I know seems like a lifetime away) We will have been together 11 years by then and I'll be 26. I have been doing a bit of research over the last 6 weeks I know it is early but I want to have an idea of what I want before I book even though I can't book until next year when 09 prices are out. I've read every page on this forum and am looking forward to hearing all the reports of recently wed brides in Cyprus. Congratulations to all those already married and Best Wishes and Good luck to all of you who are nearly there. Oooh its so exciting!!!
congratulations on deciding to get married in cyprus
you may well think that 2009 is a long time off but the time soon comes round!
we are getting married june 08 at capo bay and we booked it last year with aphrodite so you can book well in advance!
we got the date and time of our choice with aphrodite, where as with some tour operators you dont get time of wedding till you get to cyprus!! check out the aphrodite site!!
That was a quick response. Great to hear from you. Congratulations on booking your wedding. You seem to have made a good choice, I have heard a lot of good feedback on this site about Aphrodite. Is Jenny your co-ordinator as I have seen her name been mentioned several times she seems to be very highly reccommended. I am thinking of using wedding planner also as its much easier and a lot less stress for us. Did you book your holiday with them too or just the wedding services? If so who have you booked your holiday with? I am going to be on this site constantly trying to find the ins and outs of everything. Another year for you to go yet then looking forward to keeping up with your plans and reading your report at the end of it all.

only got our wedding booked with jenny at moment, hoping to book our holiday next month with first choice or thomson. we are getting married at capo bay but not stopping there, we are hoping to stop at some nearby apartments, we have got 2 children 11 &16 so to stop at capo bay we would need adjoining rooms and it is very expensive to do it this way. we also have about 30-40 friends and family coming out with us who have children so to stop at apartments makes more sense.

We have a 3 year old little girl (she will be 5 when we go) and will also be having family coming with us too so would like to find somewhere not so expensive for them to stay although I have still not decided where I want to get married so can't really think about that just yet. I can't believe you have booked your wedding before even booking the holiday, never thought of doing that. How long you been booked? Do aphrodite tell you costs of everything before hand? How much do they charge for their services? Sorry to keep asking so many questions?

New to this site but have been reading all the posts and what a great site it is. I'm getting married sept 07 at capo bay and as we have 3 children we are staying at the highly recommended rising star apartments, which are also very reasonable in price to...friends and family are staying here too. We are using aphrodite and jenny has been great, she answers any questions very quickly and provides loads of information, even the date and time of your wedding which many companies can't. Can't believe how quickly it is coming round, busy tring to get all the bits sorted this end, outfits etc. Look forward to hearing from anyone who wants to let me know how their plans are going.
