Hi Mandyk
Congratulations on booking your wedding. I havent booked anything yet as not getting married til May 2009 but still planning everything already. The apartments you are staying at sound great, the reviews are amazing. Who did you book those with as I had a look on Thomson and Thomas Cook and couldn't find them on their websites. The apartments sound great for kids too. Our daughter will be 5 when we go so now thinking of maybe staying in apartments for first week and upgrading to a hotel for our honeymoon.

I was having a read through one of the discussion forums about weather and how busy Ayia Napa will be in May. It's the 2nd we fly out and get married on the 9th. Will the weather be warm enough to sunbath, swim in the pool etc ? And will all the bars be open ? My family are coming out to but there staying in Protaras (The Brillant Apartments), will all the bars etc be in open there ? My Dad has concerns that Cyprus is going to be expensive for eating and drinking out, they usually go to Turkey and i would be very surprised if Cyrpus is as expensive as there, although it has been 6 years since we were last there. Can anyone advise ?
Vicky
Any one got any good idea's for things to do after the wedding and the meal, any places worth going to, we don't want a meal as we are having one after the wedding and as we are going to be in our glad rags a book trip is a no, thanks
We booked the rising star through direct holidays, i know you can book through airtours as well but we found these more expensive and they are excatly the same flights etc as direct...book early though as they get booked up very quickly. Your wedding will come round quickly, mine has!!
My children will be 11, 4 1/2 and 3 1/2 and they sound really good for all of them.

Can anyone recommend a lovely resturant on the beach to hold 60 people, need reasonably priced and good food!
Also i am looking for a photographer, flowers, and evening pub that will do a disco or something....
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks
Kerry

I am getting married on 12th June 2007 - (something like 10 weeks i think). In Paralimni Town Hall. We are staying in the Malama Holiday Village. I have booked the wedding through Olympic Weddings.
Does anyone have any experience of Olympic Weddings ? We dont know whether to have our meal after the wedding at the Malama or at a local resturant ?
Vic24 asked in an earlier post about the weather and whether the bars etc will be open - did you get any answers coz i would also like to know.
I am so excited now !
Mandy
I have done a few weddings with Olympic & found them quite good the reps work really hard Yvonne / Natalie & Karen.
Paralimni Town Hall is very nice & big inside

Congrats on your forthcoming marriages!
I am a wedding co-ordinator in Cyprus (Ayia Napa) I use to work for first Choice, Libra and Weddings in Style - and know all the wedding companies and coordinators on this side of the island!!
If you need any assistance or advice, even if its just about colour coordination - I've seen them all!!! I have plenty of pictures of wedding couples, wedding and reception venues, flowers, cakes and transport, so if I can help to put your minds at rest, please do not hesitate to ask
Good luck

Not been on here for ages, wedding plans full steam ahead, 8 weeks today to the big day.
I am also a Capo Bay bride to be, 1st June 2007 @ 17:45 is our wedding date and time.
Just finished sorting out favors and had my first dress fitting. Still not sorted out suit for HTB we have set a deadline of next weekend to get it all booked.
Will the temperature have dropped by 17:45 or will it still be blazing sunshine? Not sure of the sunset times in Cyprus so any advise greatly appreciated as all the men are panicking about whether to wear jackets.
Better get back to work, these chat sites are addictive.......
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, sorry can't help you out with your questions. I am planning to get married in May 2009 considering Capo Bay too as we have not booked anything yet, hope you will write a report on your day when you get back to help us B2b's with our planning. Good luck and Best Wishes with everything.
Janine
1 June 2006 - it gives a good idea of temperature variance durinf the day and sunrise/sunset etc.
You can play around with dates, daily/weekly/monthly etc.
HTH, Marion
Welly, here's the weather stats for Larnaca for You can play around with dates, daily/weekly/monthly etc.
HTH, Marion
Think it is going to still be very hot by 17:45 looking at those stats, I thought the temp would have cooled more than that by 6pm.......
but we can't wait, most people i wanted can come and are all really excited, cyprus sounds fantastic and jenny has sent me loads of pictures as i went a bit bridezilla for a while and wanted to know everything that was planned. all looks fab and professional, my only worry is the heat with dress etc. boys are hiring suits specifically for weddings abroad, really light fabric, probably just wear them for photos!!
what favors have you decided on, have you picked to have a dj or anything and will you/bridesmaids be doing your own hair or make up on the day?
I am having a hair trial over here on 18th April and will take loads of photos with me for a hairdresser over their to do.
For favours we are having Miniature perfumes and after shaves, mini love hearts and a scratch card in some really nice little bags I found on the internet (they are meant to be cake bags but we have used them for our favours.
the price for our guests is also more expensive as it is Spring bank Holiday half term week but we have a few guests that wanted to come that worked in schools plus both our nephews are at a tricky age to take out of school outside school holidays.
We haven't decided on the disco yet as we have been told they have to stop playing at 10pm as there are rooms over the location we are having our reception (the pavillion was taken so we are having the Bay View Terrace we can stay on terrace until 11pm) as we aren't getting married until 17:45 it will be 7 before we start eating and probably nearly 9 before we finish so not sure if it is worth the money for an hours dancing???
No bridesmaids so not got that to worry about.
Where are you hiring suits from? We have not done this yet and are going to sort it this weekend.
Any more question setc please pm me as I am sure we are boring everyone else on this post with too many details.. :-)
I am leaving in 6 weeks time and getting married at St Georges Chapel, i was thinking about having my reception at the Avanti but cant find many reviews!
help please
We didn't have our wedding meal there we had it at a restaurant but after our meal we actually went over the to the hotel & spent the rest of the day & evening there, there was another wedding there aswell & a singer on so we had a really good time.
Sorry i couldn't give you any info on the wedding meal i just wanted to let you know that it was a nice hotel & the food was nice in the hotel. good luck. I wish it was us all over again.

Piped at a wedding at the Avanti Hotel last year & was invited for the sit down meal. The ceremony was outside at the rear of the hotel in a Gazebo & the meal was setup outside as well absolutely brilliant, the surroundings was great as well as the food service spoton

hold off any bookings for the capo bay.
has anyone else been sent the new updated photos of the outdoor wedding venue at the capo bay.they have got greedy and gone and plonked a whole load of sun beds all around the venue. we will have to walk past complete strangers topless, half naked etc and a load of noisy kids!!
am furious ,hopefully some complaints from clients and cancelations of bookings might get them to reconsider this move and re-create the picturesque wedding setting promised and received by previous clients.
they have a sunbed reservation system which means that some poor sods will witness nearly twenty weddings in their 2 week stay!!
