Hi all,
Vicky,
Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding, the documentation you need is:
Passports - Full 10 year British passport
Birth Certificate - Originals are required
Statutory Declarations - (Also known as Affidavit) These must be stamped by a notary stating your single status. The Affidavit must be typed, dated and stamped by a registered solicitor. The stamp must include the word "Solicitor" or accompanied by a business card. These documents will be kept by the Town Hall.
Decree Absolute - If Applicable
Death Certificate - If Applicable
Adoption Certificate - If Applicable
Change of Name Documents - If Applicable
If you are a resident of Scotland or Wales, this Statutory Declaration will be replaced with a form called a Certificate of no impediment which is available from your local registry office.
If from Ireland, you will need a "Nula Osta", this is also a Freedom to marry certificate and can be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The best time to get married is around 4pm. Regardless of the time, Cyprus is hot!! Getting married later on in the day gives you more time to get ready and most of the sunbathers, will be going back to their rooms the get changed for the evening, so hardly any watchers!!! Plus the staff have more time to give, rather than running around organising the next wedding.
Sunset photos will be taken around 6.45/7pm. Depending on how long the photographer takes, some take an hour, some take 2, he/she will come back to do these. Do you know who your having?? Which wedding company are you using?? I might be able to tell you roughly how long things will take.
With regards to music, you can have what ever you choose, many have a tune to walk down the aisle to and another for signing the wedding certificate.
Dont worry about a thing, everything will be perfect. If I can help further just let me know.
Kerry x
Rocket1971,
Sounds lovely, I love Penera. I live in Kokkines, its on the hill overlooking Ayia Napa, I've been living in Cyprus for 6 years now and haven't looked back since - I've worked for several tour companies doing weddings and now set up my own wedding company, its a job I adore, every wedding is different - I'm living the life so to speak!!
Good luck with your move, I'm sure you will be very happy.
