Hey Ladies,

Right i could really do with your help, pleeeaaassseee!!!!! As most of you know im getting married in May 2009, im getting a bit nervous about using Thomas Cook now. How many of you have used one of the wedding companies based in Lindos and if you dont mind me asking how much has it cost you? Im seriously considering cancelling the wedding package and using one of the lindos based companies.
I dont know if im just stressing for nothing or if i have reason to be stressed!!

Hello Claire,

I got married last October at St Pauls Bay and my wedding was arranged by the fantastic Lindos Weddings. The package deal last year was £650 but I believe its gone up slightly this year.

I can hounestly say its well worth it. Lindos Weddings were the first wedding planners in Rhodes and have many reliable contacts who are also friends. Nothing was a bother to them...they were amazing and I had the most amazing wedding day ever!

We had our reception at memories Hotel. Lindos Weddings organised a Greek band and dancers and we had an absolute ball! Everyone still talks about my wedding and say its the best they've ever been too :)
The problem with the tour operators is that they dont have long term reliable contacts to guarantee you orders. Lindos Weddings also gagve us our wedding date a year in advance...the tour operators cant do this.

Id be happy to answer any of your questions. Good luck.

PS to anyone worries about the recent earthquake...this is very common in Greece and the locals dont bat an eyelid. Lindos was not affected at all. x

hi claire..i have booked with first choice..now i have to say yes it was a very reasonable £239.00 for the package but you dont get alot in that. they are ok at taking the booking and giving "some info" but they arnt wedding planners..after reading alot of what other brides have said a wedding planner in rhodes seems to be the best thing to go for. what is it that is making you feel uneasy about thomas cook? it is really hard when you cant be in greece to organise it yourself isnt it....i have to say though that i am happy with what i have booked with my travel agents but it isnt for everyone. i am going to book extras when i get there now these are probably in the price of a company in rhodes so will probably amount to the same. i know that when we get there we have a wedding planner from first choice to discuss all the wedding plans...for me this is good as i have lots of things still to do and say on arrival ...better than doing it via email which is what i have been doing....i hope you figure out what you are going to do...good luck chick, love sue :)

Hi Claire
I agree with Sue, I have booked with first choice too which is ok for what we paid but i had to wait for my date and the time is not brilliant. I think you get a better deal if you book with a planner based in Lindos there detail seems to be alot better.
I have managed to book some things over the internet myself which saved me some money but i still have lots to sort out when i arrive in Lindos.
I wouldnt worry too much though i am sure closer to the date you will see how everything comes together.
Hope this helps

oh my god sue i bet your' soooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!! woweeee! not long!

im so envious. can i come?

i remember nearly bursting with excitement when i had only a few weeks to go. i was counting the hours almost hee hee!

Trowlands, hi hun. i didnt go down to the place. i posted my documents. they only took a week to come back. i was so relieved when they came back saf and sound. that was something that i was really worrying about. but it was easy , i just sent them recorded delivery and they were fine.

to the lady who is just starting to book..... i cant rcommend my wedding planners enough 'lindosweddings'. im always going on about them because i was so amazed at the srvice we recieved from them. they did so many little extras which they didnt need to do, just to make the day that bit more special. and they kept buying us loooooooooads of champagne. bless them! (we were so tipsy by the time we had our meal) lol.
they really were second to none. they charge more for the initial basic package because all the add ons trhat thy offer are so mch cheaper than elsewhere and the service is personal (they come to the uk to meet you in the winter).
honestly i cld go on and on. (you can tell i was impressed eh!, lol) just google em or pm me and ill give you thier numbers.

anyway girlies. hope all is going well with your plans. married life is treating me very well. i still get goosebumps when i say my husband. i love it! cant believe weve been married for 2 months already!

will come on and have a nosey again soon. and will do a countdown with you miss p. wow!, 4 weeks eh.

Hey Sue,

It my parents in law to be that have a house in France, its in a little place called Monteneuf in Brittany. Just found out that were going back again in September, not looking forward to working though, lol.

Ive calmed down now about Thomas Cook, me and h2b have had a chat this weekend and i realise im just stressing for nothing. Think its because nothing can be arranged till we get there plus waiting for the date. I just wanna know NOW!! lol. I have decided to change my colour scheme though for about the 500000th time, he he, im thinking ivory, silver and aqua blue what do you think??

hi claire...your parents house sounds so lovely...so lucky to live in france....i think your colour schemes sound great...aqua blue is beautiful...and silver always tones well with blue...the ivory will work brilliant with the two together.im glad you're feeling better about everythin....i know its a worry...the not knowing, but honestly...it all comes together.i had some "stressy do's" and thought i had made a mistake in going through a travel agents but everything is fantastic. you can book things over the internet and the advice that you get here is second to none...honestly chick...we have all been there and everything will be great when your day comes around...and believe me it gets here really quick!!!
hi tracy...how are the plans coming along...hope everything ok

Hi everyone
Well you have all been very busy just lately. Hi Sue yes my plans are coming along great, i am more excited for you at the moment i cant wait to hear how everything went. A question for you Sue as i picked up on the fact that you are a florist. I am wearing an ivory dress and my girls are wearing ivory bodices with champagne coloured skirts. My partner and the boys have an champagne coloured pattern running through their waistcoats. What colour flowers would go with this colour scheme i no their will be plenty to choose from out their but any suggestions will be appreciated.
A big hello to pebbles its always so nice to read your comments and its great that you still come on and check out how we are all getting closer to our big day.
I had another horrible thought after reading someones post about their wedding being quite late in the year, mine is not til October what if it rains. I have read other posts which said the weather was usually nice at the beginning of October but last night it hit me it could possibly rain then what would we do ?
Ye i no i am of again and it will probably be ok.

Speak to you all again soon

hi tracy...dont worry....i would be very suprised if it rained in rhodes, lindos especially.im sure you'll agree that if you have ever been abroad and it does rain it tends to be mid afternoon and only for a short time....a bit of rain can be a blessing to cool things down.ive been to spain loads at that time of year and its always gorgeous weather so rhodes should still be glorious as it is the hottest greek island...your wedding theme is lovely...the ivory and champagne is such a simple yet tasteful choice. i am a v contemporary florist but cover through tothe more classical style too. i suppose it does depend also on what styles you like and what your dress is like.you also want the flowers to reflect your personality!!!when you go to see your florist i would recommend taking a picture of your dress and have all the colour schemes to hand..ie pictures or swatches if you have them. i seem to think that you get a portfolio to choose flowers from...i persoanlly think something very simple and understated but elegant. if you want some colour in the flowers as the florist what she thinks will work with your dres. i use lots of beads and thread wire inmy work but not all florists do this...some gold or even silver would be nice or even some beads or diamante to add some sparkle would be fab...especially in the sun!!!! i could go on and on but dont want to cram your head with this. maybe cut out a few pictures of things that you like in terms of bouquets...the more info you have the better job the florist will do......well....you did ask!!!! good luck chick, speak soon luv sue

hi bubs,i dont thinki have met you on here although i know you have posted on before...it was around the time that i was having a "breakdown" so sorry if it appeared ignorant of me. 8 weeks will fly by...i hope you are all ready and prepared...says me....3 weeks to go and still making lists of lists bla bla bla....its a really exciting time for all of us....just think when i get back you will be were i am at now and i will be wanting to jump in your suitcase to do it all again. take care, luv sue :)
