We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .
Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

Sunny Beach is a fantastic resort and this is the third time we have been and we would not hesitate to go back. All the people are very friendly and helpful and the resort is nice and clean. In the three years we have been going we have never seen any trouble and that is a big possitive. There is plenty to do and you will be sure to pick up some great bargains in the many shops and stalls.

THE resort was lovely and always clean.
There was always plenty of entertainment for kids and adults in the resort.
The beach was lovely
I would stay in this resort again but in a different hotel.

Towards the end we stayed in the Hotel to eat and gave up trying to find a really good restaurant. One evening we went to "Happy" restaurant and Jenny ordered steak, they never asked, how she wanted it cooked, looked at us as if we had two heads when we asked for a steak knife and put 1.60 on the end of the bill, for ketchup.
I had heard about this, but didn't believe it, but I saw it with my own eyes. I saw approx 14 or 15 people being robbed of everything they had. There were 4 or 5 hookers working the street outside our hotel. When they would pick up a punter they would take them down to the darkness of the beach to do the deed. However with military timing, a number of heavies would follow down and rob the punters of everything they have. One managed to get away, but they chased him, what happen next is unbelievable...
he ran from the beach being chased by these heavies, to escape he ran into our hotel, they caught him and started to hit him and then shoot or prod him with stun guns. The lad then managed to scramble to his feet and jump into the pool. He was surrounded by the heavies, even one that was security in our hotel and another heavy which I hadn,t seen earlier. This lead me to believe that there is an organisation of bouncers-thugs all working together. They started throwing chairs at him in the pool. At this stage about 100 people had gathered on the street outside and lots of guests had come to their balconies. Some residents then went down and rescued the young lad. Even with all the people watching, these people didn't care, they were angry and violent,
Another man came back up, hid in the grounds of our hotel and waited for one of the heavies to return. He then approached one of these heavies who had robbed him. The heavy gave him a punch in the stomach and promptly put the victim on his way. The next night I asked jenny to walk behind me to see if one of these so called hookers would approach me, I was curious to see how much they were asking for and how the managed to snare so many victims. They asked for 20 Lev (€10).
Another con that was widespread is the changing of currency into Lev. The crown exchanges are excellent. Don’t go anywhere else. I get a little confused about this myself, the crown advertise the “buy” rate which is correct, the others advertise a better rate, but this is the “sell” rate. You will actually end up with much less that you would get from the crown exchanges. Possibly as much as €25 per hundred. It may be the other way round with the buy sell thing, but just go to the crown, they are everywhere.
While walking the prom one night Jenny felt someone at her handbag, when she turned around a girl of about 10/11 years old pulled her hand away from the bag and ran to her family which had a shop nearby.
There are these rickshaw type bikes that the locals pedal that you use as a taxi. We met two girls from Ireland on their first night who just threw their bags into their hotel room as they arrived late in the day, ran out of the hotel, hopped into one of these taxi’s and asked to be brought to the Irish pub, which was about 1.5km away. When they got there he charged them €75 each. They put up a bit of a fight, but still ended up paying €75 for the two of them. Agree a price before you set off. I’m told the real taxi’s do the same, so agree a price with them as well.
In the week we were there we only saw 2 policemen. I believe that the place is corrupt, which is a pity because it is a beautiful resort. This place has a lot going for it and if you can avoid people trying to relieve you of your dough then you will have a great time. I think for the first time I came home with money, though may have something to do with the fact that I,m off the cigs and didn’t bring back 3000 of the lousy things. Some really good value to be had.
Sorry, but we didn’t come across any restaurants to recommend. Except the kebab kiosk opposite the Chaika hotel do really nice baked potatoes and chicken wraps. We tried Jdanny’s (or something like that) as it was recommended and had a queue outside. Sorry…….It may be the best in sunny beach but that doesn’t say much for the standard of eateries.
The food in Turkey is 10 times better.
I will never return and support such a scandalous economy.

Sunny Beach is brilliant, the beach is clean there is so much going on there is something for everyone ,it`s dirt cheap for food ,drinks, cigarettes and clothes, I would go back there in a minute,we are going again next June can`t wait.

Sunny beach has become a young and lively resort mores the pity (lager louts etc etc )If you keep to the market side you can still enjoy the old bulgaria which is wonderful. The resort is clean as is the beach (If people would only put their rubbish in bins provided) and the entertainment varies from bar to bar.

there are lots of places around the resort though and it is so close to all the main attractions and food. The highstreet is crammed full of lots of bars, clubs, restaurants and shops. Night time is when this all gets started though. There is alot of variety with the food so you dont have to worry about being stuck eating things that you wont like. I would definatly recommend Vagabonds which is a little walk along the beach or Fat Cats which is a little bit further away but definatly worth the walk, they do the best bangers and mash i have tasted with apple pie to finish off with.
Places to stay away from: Mc Donalds, they are over priced and will almost always over charge you unless you quote how much it says on the menu. (The problem with that is the menu is so far away you cant really read it!) Amazon steak house again they are over prices, even if you receive a 15% off wristband and the atmosphere is so loud you cant think!
The excursions we went on were ok,
The bar crawl wasnt worth the money that you paid for it as you only got 4 shots in 4 bars and spent more time standing around while the reps tried to organise 30 people. We saw far bigger and better bar crawls but they were all scandinavian so we could join.
The lazy day cruise was really good and alot of fun i wont spoil any of the surprises for you but you will definaly enjoy it, plus you get free food and drink!
Perfect for hen do/stag dos, groups of friends going away, clubbing holidays. Families should beware that some material found on the highstreet and around there can be quite explicit so not exactly perfect for children of a young age.

On the first night the resort does look very nice and lots to do. But it is very similar to blackpool, with a bit more sun. We did the same walk along the front which was stalls selling clothes and the likes and bars full of drunks. I found when trying to buy items they ask where you are from if you say England they charge you more for your stuff (b careful).
The beach was very nice but just too full, chairs packed together and not a relaxing place.
The clubs are very dated, and the attitude of the people living there are some what to be desired. But there are some lovely bars to sit in.
Another thing porn is big over there, nearly all the bars have half naked girls dancing where your trying to put your drink. Even the mall (which is not a mall in my opinion) has a half naked girl avertising it.
over all the bad parts over weighed the good.

Plenty of entertainment in sunny beach , graet water sports, beach is outstanding, old nessebar, burgas and old pomoriea are well worth a visit.
My son went on the jeep safari trip and the lazy day cruise and would recommend them to other tourists.
My grandson loved the aqua park in Nessebar and you can get a free bus to it from the main road at the Arda hotel.
