We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

Would go back to Sunny Beach and this apartment complex but not at end of season, everything was closing up and by the end of holiday found it hard for finding somewhere that was open and had plenty food left.
Pavements can be a bit hazardous, this didnt help that some street lighting was not on. (Told end of season and were not getting fixed)
Very cheap for eating and drinking out not sure this will be the same next year now in EU.

The resort of sunny beach is a very misleading place... lots of people tell you its the next best thing since sliced bread. However, its far from, sunny beach is fairly clean the beach is amazing (watch for the jelly fish though) but the overall welcoming atmoshpere for the english is virtually non existant.... i totally understand that we dont need to be priority but it seemed all the english were good for is to eat steak and pay money.... The loacals were not friendly at all, infact they were quiet rude, paying to use a public convienience was the icing on the cake.... Yes this does not mean its a hightech toilet it means a toilet behind a door and a lady sat outside charging 50p, and it does not stop there this chrging happens even in restraunts when your paying for food and drink.... you will still be charged. Crime rate is rife, many a story of pickpocketing, and outright theft was common, along with prostitution. If you are going to bulgaria, please be carefull.

Cannot praise this holiday enough.
We had been to Cyprus, Turkey, Zante, Tenerife, Spain in the past but by far this holiday is the best.
We had a wonderful hotel, Laguna Park which was in a great location.
The people were very friendly and the resort was very cheap and easy to get round. We were actually amazed at how large the resort was given that we have been to other European holiday resorts and this was the largest.
We did not come across any major problems. We did encounter the gypsies with the bear and crocodile but we just walked by them and they left us alone. Our daughter started pointing to them and we expected them to come over to us but they didn't. We saw one prostitute the whole time we were there and we did stay out late on a number of nights. Again, she did not bother us.
The only negative point was the state of the roads/pavements. You could be going along fine then the next thing you have a large pot hole which you have to swerve. This was not the easiest with a buggy.
The entertainment was fantastic. You could join in with Karaoke, listen to live music, go to a nightclub, watch a magician, there was so much for everybody. During the day there was plenty to do also as a few of our days were cloudy but this did not stop us from having a good time. There is an abundance of crazy golf (some better than others), bungy jumping, 3-D cinema, ten pin bowling, golf carts and bicycles to hire, there were kiosks where you and your family could get your pictures taken in period costume. And not forgetting the many shops and stalls. Most of them sold fake D&G, Prada, Lacoste, Billabong etc. but if you like shopping you will love Sunny Beach.
We visited the waterpark which was great. Not the largest I have been to but there was certainly loads of slides and when we went in September we did not have to queue. Take a packed lunch if you can as the food is quite expensive for what you get.
We found the food to be excellent in the resort, only one bad meal the whole time we were there. Try the local dishes like Kavarma... wonderful. Don't drink imported spirits i.e. Jack Daniels, Peach Schnapps etc. if you can help it, as these will seriously dent your wallet. Opt for Bulgarian vodka, bacardi etc. Also the cocktails are worth a try as they are made with local spirits and you can get two for £2.50 during the happy hour, which is almost everywhere, all night!
Just to recap. The best holday we have been on and first with a 14 month old. People friendly, food and drink cheap, weather great and plenty of entertainment. What more can you ask for? If you are looking for churches, museums etc. visit Barcelona!

sunny beach is quite nice but we were bored after a week. there is only 1 long road to walk down with the same shops repeating over and over, all fakes! there are some bars and you can hire electric cars but there is a huge lack of entertainment in sunny beach, although we did find a bar that did bingo twice a week. the beach is very nice and quite clean. the bulgarians are very nice people and never had any hassle. i would possibly go back to bulgaria but in around 5 years when they are more established as a tourist area.

The resort itself was clean and friendly. However there wasn't much to see or do here once you'd walked round it a couple of times. Plus if the weather's bad or it's raining then there's nothing to do as if we weren't exploring Bulgaria we just lounged by the pool as there's not much entertainment, apart from loads of mini golf courses.
We did see a few locals parading snakes or dancing bears or young puppies around in order to get you to part with your cash which we didn't like too much but we just ignored them if they came upto us and they soon left us alone.
The resort however, was clean and tidy though a few un-even paving slabs.
Would recommend a trip to Nessebur which is a 10 minute boat trip from the central pier or can be walked to in about 20-30 minutes. Do this independantly and not through your tour rep as it's a lot cheaper to do it yourself. Would also recommend the lazy day cruise and the jeep safari.
We also did the 2 day trip to Istanbul, was a great trip but Istanbul itself was very dirty but the sights were amazing.
Also the entertainment in restaraunts were just singers/groups playing the same songs every night and was a bit repetitive.
If you like lounging by the pool or on the beach then Sunny Beach is for you but if you're into doing things and sight seeing then maybe think about looking somewhere else. We've been there seen it and got the T-shirt. Was a lovely relaxing holiday however but we won't be going back to Sunny Beach.

Sunnybeach was a really good resort, especially for the children. Like everywhere some things we liked, some things we didn't but the good far outweighed the bad.
The beach was great, with lots to do. The food was lovely but you could be ripped off if you weren't careful.
We always found something to do and the buses were great and cheap so we could visit other parts of Bulgaria with ease. Varna was worth a day out, as was Nesabar. We enjoyed the Gypsy night, and am told that Khans tent was just as good if not better. We enjoyed the Pirate cruise excursion and strolling around Sunny beach was lovely.
I'd definately visit Bulgaria again.

Sunny Beach is clean but watch some of the toilets they can be a bit smelly.
There is something for everyone. Good for everyone sun bathing or water sports (14 levs for 10 mins on jet skis).
Watch when crossing at the yellow lines they are ment to be zebra crossings but they very rarely stop so watch what you do.

the resort of sunny beach itself was very loud lots of banging and thumping music and pa staff were forever thrusting leaflets into your hands. there were also a lot of beggars about mothers with babies hiding under vans near our hotel and men with no legs and arms. also small children were made to play music on violins and accordians until all hours to make money. people were begging with small kittens or puppies thrusting them into your face animal in one hand and a plastic cup in the other
battery operated mopeds, pedal cars and trains are free to speed along pedestrian areas also which is dangerous.
the beach was very overcrowded with sunbeds and parasols charged at 6 lev a piece but you also got charged just to lay on the beach without a bed. the life guards were quite bossy if you went into the roped off area of the sea where the jet skis etc were.
the pavements were up and down cracked and broken slabs which was quite dangerous.also the drainage wasn't very good. if it rained it poured down leaving an ankle deep stream in the streets.
there wasn't really much entertainment in the bars or restaraunts we visited only singers singing out of date music or the odd magic act and there was a lot of erotic bars about or bars where scantilly clad women were dancing on the bar top or round poles so there wasn't a lot for families with children to do.
the happy hor drinks were good we got 8 cocktails for about £10.and it was also good to get stella lager and becks at local prices.
there are numerous shops selling exactly the same things, designer copies and fake perfume and watches although the stall selling were silver jewellery were good value for money.
apart from the fact you can drink, drink and drink again i don't think this resort has much to offer families in particular although i think it's ideal for groups of single people or couples with no children.
the hotels along the sea front are stunning.
i would not visit this resort or probably not this country again.
