We had room 209 apart from having to hold shower spray and not use hairdryer the room was okay. Great Italian if you head towards the house go thru the little side road you have lotus to your right food nice you will come to Chinese, steak house which is good food (don't know about Chinese) Italian is opposite. If you can find Marbella just down road from trakia hotel can highly recommend.

Seemingly one of the best restaurants was the steakhouse next door to the Marvel, which closed up for the end of season two days after we arrived so didn't get to try it, top tip for the Marvel would be to put their staff on a course to learn how to be polite and engage with holiday makers, at the end of the day it's us who pay their wages!!!
They just didn't care.
We went all inclusive .we found beer half litre glass 1.50 lev what is around 40p at lots of bars we also ate out a lot because the food was so cheap , food at hotel was good also microwave if u want to have your food red hot .

No never they need to take more notice of there guest than sit talking to each other pool bar you had to pay for drinks and 5 minute walk to get another drink in a plastic cup even when to stayed in the lobby
Keep away please.

I visited Sunny Beach a year ago and loved it! Just back again after spending a week there. We noticed a big difference in a year. Although we still had a great time the resort is getting more commercialised than last year.
The speed that the hotels have gone up is amazing, possibly cramming too many in to get the tourists. Sunny Beach is nice and clean, with many great bars and restaurants. Bulgaria is still a lovely place to go for a holiday but for how much longer?!

This is the 2nd consecutive year weve visited Sunny Beach.
We would recommend any first timers to go and sample the culture.
Positives for us were the friendly locals, the cheap beer food and kiddie entertainment like the various amusement parks ,water parks etc.. bunjee jumps for kids also.
Downside is the regualr hassles you get with any tourist resort from peddlars, resaurant bars etc.. prices on the front prom are more expensive but on the back steets absolutely dirt cheap.
Saw a recommended posting on the Windmill restaurant ( behind the Fiesta beach / Helena sands hotels up a small hilly walk). We would thoroughly recommend the Windmill. Good food and good entertainment thrown in for absolutly very little money. 100 lev bill for 4 of us 3 course meal. 2 x bottles of wine, several vodkas numerous soft drinks etc.
To all the negative posters on Sunny beach I would say embrace the place and the people with an open mind.
Yes there are beggars, seedy bars, ladies of the night etc
but you get these in any UK city ! Sunny Beach is no different. Bulgaria is still coming to terms with western ways.
Enjoy the Experience. Our only grumble is with Balkan holidays . We flew from Humberside this year. Only to find on receiving our flight tickets that we would divert Via Glasgow !!! their letter stated that we would return back to direct to Humberside .
What did we find when airborne back to UK. The Glasgow passengers informed us that no you are flying to glasgow first !!. It caused no end of trouble on the plane. Scuffles with the air stewardess because of the some drunken passengers who took their complaints Too Far !!
Have written to Balkans to complain about this but understand it is now becoming more common from regional airports like Humberside.

The main beach and sea front was very clean, though waste bins and toilets were mainly lacking. Most people seem to use the facilities of the nearest Hotel.
Plenty of bars, resturants, street vendors and market stalls, although the minute you stop to look at anything you are approached by the friendly stallholder or resuranteur for your trade!
Still very sad to see the sight of a bear lead through the streets on a nose ring / chain for the sad people that seem to find it pleasurable to be photographed with it?? Likewise iguanas and snakes seem to be paraded and handled for the people who I guess never get the the chance to go to a zoo or wildlife park!!!
Thats enough of the animal rights ranting, all in all a great value for money family resort to which I would certainly return.
One other thing, though a 10Lev one way journey to Nesebar might seem fun, you can do the same thing a a bus for 60Stotinki!

Very tidy place. Small stalls selling all the same things. There is a train(2levs)which takes you to the center and you walk to the beach and have a slow walk back stopping in as many bars as you can. Vodka lemonade / cocktails (2levs)(£1). Don't forget its buy one get one free everywhere.
A very busy place loads of stalls, restaurants very cheap and very nice watch out for the snake/lizard people wanting to take photos.
There are a few children playing accordian (begging) but all they need is a good wash as they all were addias clothes. The other annoying thing was kids could hire golf buggies, electric scooters and ride up and down the walk ways someone will get hurt soon.
Beach is nice but you do have to pay 18 levs for 2 sun beds and the brolley. Sea was nice and clear you could see where you was walking it was warmer than the swimming pool at the victoria palace. Even if you want to sit on the beach with you towel you still have to pay.
I should think when it goes into the EU I think it will be very expensive and a new 18-30s place to go.
We found quite a few bar which we visited nearly every night, remember if you are drinking or eating they are staying open there is no set shutting time bars just stay open all night even the hotel bar so if you arrive at 5 am like we did there is always somewhere to get a beer.
We had loads of fun remember if you dont enjoy you holiday there is only one person you can blame (that is yourself)happy holidays.

Beach was very clean but very busy. There is no shortage of sunbeds which can be hired out. Loads of water sports. Banana boats,, pedlos, ski jets, parasending. Loads of beach bars offering very nice cocktails. 2 for the price of 1. Very nice indeed. Lots of stalls selling fake designer Denim wear. All for a good price. Levis cost about £15.

We felt the resort was good if you wanted peace and quiet without the hustle and bustle, and noise of discos etc...
Lots of broken pavements and steps, saw a few people on crutches
Taxis...walk to Royal Park as its 5 leva cheaper. Royal Park to sunny beach 20 leva each way
Royal bay to sunny beach 25 leva
Khan's tent....very good, 4 course meal (nothing for kids though)free wine and the first bottle of fanta, after that you pay, cabaret was very good
Pirate's cruise, OK sail out to the bay from Nessebar, have a salad with grilled chicken, play some silly games to win ice cream for the kids and beer for the adults, we even got caught in a storm at sea, which was quite frightening as it came from nowhere, rain was horizontal, wind was howling, boat was all over the place, sunmats flew off the roof into the sea
and then the storm was gone !
Dolphinarium/Varna shopping trip...hmmmm 2 hours on a bus to the dolphin show (which lasted 35 minutes) then back on the bus to the rock cut monastery (a monastery cut from the rock) then back on the bus to varna for a 2 hour shopping trip (was meant to be 4 hours, thank god it wasn't) shops are all boutique types and more expensive than elsewhere.
Found somewhere to eat and spent the whole meal time fending off beggars who either wanted money off you or to stick their filthy fingers in your food, in the hope you would give it to them !
Then another 2 hour bus ride back to the resort....waste of money in my opinion.
Cabrio picnic....fantastic (if you like fast cars)we thought we were going on a bus ! Spent the day zoomimng about the mountains (hills) in open topped cars, spraying the other cars with water pistols great fun..stop for a short horse ride, zoom off to a Bulgarian house for honey tasting, zoomed off in the cars to another house for wine tasting and a look round the garden, then off to a lake for fishing, shooting, and a barbecue, or sunbathing if you wish (make sure you go to the toilet at the wine tasting house..as the one at the lake is a wooden shack with just a hole in a piece of wood, then you all zoom off again back to your resorts. This was a good trip and we enjoyed it, but the drivers are very alike to "boy racers".
Would we go back to this resort.......perhaps in 10 years time once everything has caught up, lots of changes are needed here, especially the health and hygene/safety

the resort is clean and tidy, loads to do in the day as well as the night, the beach standard is very clean, but get there early for your sunbed as they go early, the nightlife is great with buy on get one free all night every night, watch out for the golf buggies they are every where, its hard to spend you money here, anyone going in the next few weeks will love it here, cont wait to go back again next year

Sunny Beach is very clean, and the beach is cleaned up nearly every night.
There is entertainment almost everywhere you go and food on the beach front in the bars is ok.
We would visit the resort again, possibly in a few years time.
