Definitely worth paying the extra for the bungalows.

Ayia Napa had such a bad press I had been a little reticent about going there. There are night clubs, we did not hear any overpowering noise, unlike Salou which I thought was 'hell'. The facilites around the beaches were first rate, plenty of cafes, shops, restaurants and boat trips available, very reasonably priced and managed.

There were a few of us that went to Ayia Napa, spread in four hotels. Many of us had children and those who did say they would not come back. There is nothing for children, reminds me of Turkey in that sense.
The nightlife is brilliant! Something for all adults. Drinks are expensive in the square and mos places around Napa.some bars do a £1 pint. But you have to look for them.
If you do head up to the square be prepared. Take plenty of money. Clubs are around £10-£12 in. Take a camera, nothing can prepare you for the square! lol. You have to go its brill. your sure to see some celebrity. We saw quite a few amongst us and have pics!!

Ayia Napa is a fantastic place to visit for a wide range of people. Dont stay in the centre if you are a family - stay along Nissi Avenue, there are some nice hotels. The walk into town takes anything between 30 - 60 minutes steady in the heat, but a taxi can be encouraged to take you for 3-4c£.
Buses run every hour and cost only 80c each - normally if you tell the taxi driver you are waiting to catch the bus, they will match the price!
Lovely beaches - especially Nissi Beach and Macronissos, and most hotels have great facilities for kids. Pay the extra to stay somewhere nice, if you can - it makes a difference if you have kids relying upon the in-house entertainment. Loads of watersports to do, and take a boat trip out of the harbour - always haggle for deals - you will get a 3 hour trip for 1c£ if you ask!
The Cypriots are the most friendly people I have ever come across and make you feel so very welcome.
One final piece of advice - take advantage of the fantastic restaurants in the area - The Garden of Eden next door to the Macronissos Village is lovely, but our top three are:
1. Atlas Italian Restaurant - the best restaurant in Ayia Napa by far - food fabulous - try the Chicken Massala. It is along Nissi Avenue past Nissi Beach heading into town on your left hand side.
2. Koutouki Tavern - traditional Greek restaurant. The food is simple but good, and very reasonable, but what makes the place so fantastic is the welcome, the service and the entertainment there. Go on a Thursday or Saturday for some great Greek Live Music, dancing and glass balancing. This again is along Nissi Avenue, opposite the Sunwing Hotel if you ask the taxi driver, they will know it - they all know the owner of this place - he is a local hero!
3. The Sapporo Restaurant - Japanese, but don't worry I'm not talking sushi and noodles here! Order steak - it is cooked right in front of you in such an original entertaining way you will love it - children especially will find it facinating and they do half portions for kids. Juggling machetees (excuse my spelling!), flames 3 foot high, fabulous - need to make a reservation for this place as it books up very fast. It is in the centre of Ayia Napa - sorry don't know address of this one, but again taxi driver will know!

Absolutely mad!
Load & loads to do for all age groups. Found it a bit expensive up on the strip where all the night clubs are.
Apart from that Aiya napa is fantastic.
Make sure you visit Nissi Beach,so beautifull but very busy and can get crowded.

The resort was lovely, cant really comment on the entertainment what i can say is the pubs accross from our hotel when Robbie Williams was singing lets just say next doors cat can sing better need i say any more. Never went on beach husband and son did every day they said it was lovely they went in the sea alot and i stayed by pool, beds at pool side were free, but beds u are charged for on beach, hotel was on beach which was nice. I would deffo go Cyprus Nissi beach/Ayia Napa again we want to try Dome Hotel as thats supposed to be a fab hotel.

Luckily we stayed at the grecian sands which is at the other end of the long beach.
Ayia Napa centre is not for me at night, but awat from that there are some lovely restaurants etc. In summer the resort is busy and loud.

Ayia Napa was very clean. A lot cleaner than Leeds is nowadays. Nissi beach was a bit of a dissapointment as overcrowded but the water sports were reasonably priced. Overall food and drink wee expensive compared to England, except for the local beer. Water parks, boat trips, beeches, themeparks, bars, restaurants. A fairly small resort with a lot to offer.
