All you can ask for in a resort something for everyone loads of restaurants bars and shops.
Funfair for children also I went to Ayia Napa expecting to hate it. I was totally wrong Iloved it. It was nice and quiet at this time of year no crazy party town that we all hear about.

There is a coastal path that runs east to west. East goes to the end of the resort and Nissi Beach which is very lively with white sand and turqoise sea, this is about 30 minutes walk away and very pleasant.
To the west the path leads into the centre of Ayia Napa and the harbour/port area, which again is 30-40 minutes away and boast a large funfair which has rides for all ages from a 100ft sling shot to kids dodgem cars.
The best thing about this resort is the variety of areas, if you like the hustle of loads of bars, bar street is nearby the centre and very very busy at night with all the usual bars, Linekers, Irish bars etc although there are some nice restaurants here as well and at night the whole street is pedestrianised.
If you go towards the other end of the resort, there is some very smart restaurants and all of them have large childrens play areas for the use of diners which keep the kids amused and allows you to have a quite meal, the kids never want to leave, one even has a large bouncy castle (all free)!!! The only drawback is that the restaurants in this area all line the busy main road which can be noisy and you have to watch the kids when walking to and from the restaurants. Also around this end of the resort, there are loads of bars that are fine for the kids with plenty of entertainment in the form of tribute singers/bands etc which are quite good.

Ayia Napa centre is geared up for clubbers yes that is true and it is great if you like that sort of thing which we do.
However, it also had a nicer much more calmer side to it which is in the area where the 4 and 5* hotels are.
There is a good choice of bars and restaurants in that area where you can enjoy a really nice family meal.
We spent a lot of time in the eleana bar and restaurant very nice food, and very reasonable in price, and the people that own the bar are lovely, my husband even thought the bill must have been wrong on our first night it was that cheap.
The beach near the Grecian Bay area is lovely and clean, the sea is lovely too.
I loved Cyprus and would really recommend it as a great holiday destination.
Have a walk around the harbour which is in the centre and also visit the monastery.

The resort of Aiya Napa is fab! Although it wouldn't be my scene in peaks it was great and just busy enough not to be annoying.
There are so many restaurants and bars to chose from from Cypriot to Japanese(the japanese restaurant just west of the sqaure is well worth a visit!)and plenty of British like mcd's, kfc and pizza hut.
Nissi beach is absolutely gorgeous with loads of bars next to it for a refreshing drink, liminaki beach at the other side is also gorg a bit busier though.
Would def recommend Linikers bar its an absolutely fab night out we ended up spending most of our time there they put on such a show we couldnt stop laughing, plus the bar staff are well sexy! And even put on a bit of a ladies show!!!*wink wink*
Def would reccomend the resort if your not a mad student but still enjoy good night life april is the best time to go the weather is great and the nightlife is fab!!!!!

Second time to Ayia Napa and I absolutley love the place, I have been in the middle of summer and at the end of winter. Had two very different holidays but I cannot fault Ayia Napa one bit .
If you are unsure of taking your family there then dont be , I took my three nieces ranging from a 5 yr old to 17 and all three loved the place . The water Park is a must .
The beaches are excellent especially Nissi , however grecian bay was also delightful . Definately recommend Ayia Napa to anyone young or old.

We went in November and a lot of the shops, restaurants, hotels and pubs where shut, so the resort was very quite. Sometimes if felt as if we where in a ghost town. But we didn't mind as we wanted a quite relaxing holiday and the beaches where absolutely wonderful. Nissi beach which is a good 2km away was almost deserted which was wonderful, we even found a smaller beach about 5km away that was totally deserted.
Just across the road from the hotel was a really nice pub called Romeo Inn. And just a little further along was the most fabulous bakery that was open 24 hours and did the most amazing cakes and savoury snacks at a very reasonable price and will miss this while back in England, but my figure won't!!
I wouldn't visit the resort again at this time of year as it was at times just too quiet to be there for 14 days and I think that the brochures should tell you that a lot of places shut down for the winter season. But it did alow us to hire push bikes for a very reasonable rate and when we decided to go to Protaras we where so glad that we didn't go there as we only saw 4 people in the town and no one on the beach and it was even more shut up than Ayia Napa. After talking to people who live and work in the resort they said the best time to come would be the last 2 weeks in September.
Had a wonderful holiday.

I imagine that Agia Napa out of season is a very different beast to the Agia Napa in season! We visited in November and it was very quiet. We're not clubbers, but it looked like most if not all were closed for the winter. As were quite a few of the theme bars and restaurants. Boat trips had stopped except for weekends.
We loved it! A compact and friendly town. Plenty of shops and restaurants still open, including the excellent ones by the harbour.

the harbour was very attractive and made a nice nightly walk. there were various trips on boats etc but we choose the "yellow submarine" which had viewing potholes in the hull of the boat and were able to watch fish etc being feed by one of the divers. We were given 3/4 hour to snokle in caves. The trip lasted 2 hours for £5 great value for money and not to long.
The beach was superb and facilties good ie. resturants on the beach etc. Sea very warm. We also visited three other beaches by bus. Word of warning buses always full in the morning so we got a taxi for £4 one day and £3 next which took us even further and return trip on bus only 70 cents. Taxi drivers will always accept your price so always barter with them.
Some excellent eating places and very reasonable we paid no more than £25 including bottle of wine.
There is a huge complex for entertainment in the centre which is very loud but the choice is yours whether to go to this area or not.
Overall an excellent resort especially at this time of the year perhaps very noisy and busy during the high season.
