I would rate this hotel as more of a 3.5 * not the 4.5 or 5* given in the brochures.
We found the rooms to be pretty standard size & facilities, the bathroom afforded all the usual complimentary toiletries & although was cleaned very well every day the grouting between the tiles had discoloured giving a shabby appearance. We were in block 5 which was very well situated for the pool & not to far to walk to the beach/restaurants/reception. (You do need to be aware that this is a large complex & some of the room blocks can be miles from the main pool, beach, reception & restaurants).
The pool area was very cramped, the sun beds were actually lined up touching each other with no room in between to access them! If you were'nt down at the pool by 7.30am you struggled to get a bed at all. When someone else put their brolly up you were often in the shade too! There are more beds down on the beach area, but like much of the Red Sea coast it's not a very nice beach. Towels & mattress are provided. There was only 1 toilet at the pool which was pretty ridiculous for the amount of people there. There was no waiter service around the pool you had to fetch your own drinks, but the guys at the swim up bar & all the hotel staff were extremely helpful & eager to please you.
On the food & drink side - the drinks (local spirits) were generous measures & mixed with what ever you chose tasted great, no different to me than the usual imported stuff. You cannot get a decent glass of wine, the white leaves an antiseptic like aftertaste. Urgh! My husband drank ample supplies of the beer so it must have been OK.
The food at lunch time was OK, you could have pasta, pizza & salads from the Italian which has a very nice terrace. Or burgers, tuna roll, hot dogs, fries, calamarie at the pool - (if you could get a table due to the restricted space)
The evening meals were dire. All buffet style, all the same - soup, salads, some sort of meat in a gravy, potatoes & veg. A good selection to be fair but never hot enough & very samy after the first 3 days. ( I picked up a stomach bug & I'm sure it was the chicken I had there - it was serious enough to see the Doc I had to have an injection, antibiotics + 2 other medications).
We did'nt enjoy the evening entertainment at all. A lot was audience participation - Mr Concorde, where the men did a variety of tasks to win points - all described in 5 different languages - burst the most balloons, sing, kiss the most ladies etc. Belly dancer, local folk dancers, a guy who sang badly to a guitar one night then equally badly to the piano the next.
We did the snorkelling trip to Ras Mohammed marine park at a cost of

We stayed in room 1154 - ground floor, near the small aquagym pool, the pool man was excellent, happy to put your towel out each morning for a small tip, even came round throughout the day asking if you wanted your parasol moving so you could be in the shade. This pool has a small bar area, although drinks are in a cool box, the waiter is happy to walk round asking if you want a drink, or you can just walk over to the bar to get a drink.
The food was fantastic, wide variety of choice to eat (i am a little fussy when abroad), a variety of salads, meat dishes, fresh cooked pizzas, freshly prepared pasta dishes and the biggest selection of cream cakes you can imagine.
The complex itself is spread out and you can choose to lounge by the 4 pools or on the beach, towards the end of our holiday we chose to lounge by the aquagym pool, mainly cause this was quieter and less crowded, although all sun loungers were taken they were spread out and the atmosphere was excellent.
We ventured into Na'ma bay twice using the shuttle bus (free of charge), there are a number of shops (mainly selling the same thing), the bars and restaurants are set up in the open air, each seems to merge into the other but all staff were very friendly whichever one you chose to sit at.
The security was top notch, we never felt threatened or in any danger, there were road blocks, tourist police and members of the armed forces always in sight. Whether this was more so because there was a summit involving Tony Blair and George Bush while we were there, as the day after they left there didn't seem to be as many security staff around.
Even the hotel has it's own security on the gate and check every vehicle which drives into the complex, there are security and police on the entrance to the hotel, when you initially arrive you have to go through a metal detector gate. This may put some people off but it certainly made us feel happier due to the recent blasts which had taken place prior to us going away.
We visited Cairo (pyramids and sphinx) while we were away, choosing to fly (cost

We were not disappointed. It is set in beautiful grounds which are well loooked after. I would describe it more of a small village than a hotel with the accomodation blocks spread out throughout the grounds.
We spent most (well all) of our time around the main pool. It got the sun from about 6.15am until about 5.15pm. We were well looked after by Raafat who more or less runs the swim up bar. Have to say though all the staff are very pleasant indeed.
On arrival we were asked if we would like an upgrade to our room giving us a sea view. Took the opportunity and paid another

Everything from the staff, to the facilities and access to the excellent snorkelling exceeded our expectations.
The Concorde el Salam is an exceptionally clean, bright and welcoming hotel, set in a village type complex with pathways filled with fragrant flowers and shady retreats. Our room was spacious, spotless and very comfortably fitted. The room was cleaned and supplied with fresh laundry daily.
We were greeted with the most beautiful floral and towel arrangements as decorations each day courtesy of our cleaner.
The staff were the some of the most friendly we have met abroad with no shortage of attention to every detail.
The food has varying reports on this site, but I have to say there was an endless selection of dishes at each serving, I was particularly fond of the fabulous ranges of fresh salads, breads and fruit at lunch and dinner.
We were staying at the Sports complex, which was slightly quieter than the main part of the hotel but within pleasant walking distance. However this complex has an amazing range of activities for an individual or family group, to include indoor gym and swimming facilities, ice skating, horse riding, football, tennis etc. (Despite all this we done precious little apart from move from one pool to the next and chill out with an Egyptian massage to die for by the beach!!!)
I could go on about the Concorde for ever but suffice to say it was a great holiday!

The hotel is in two parts the sports side and the main side. We stayed at the sport side which does not have a beach but has a large pool. The main building also has pools and by the sea has tiered sections with sunbeds on, to get one of these beds you have to go about 6 am which my husband did on the mornings we wanted to snorkel (walking from the sports side as the buses hadnt started running then)
The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them they are friendly and obviously much prefer the british to the russians. The russians can be a pain and although i read before i went to Sharm you just have to ignore them it is very difficult as they are the most ignorant arrogant people io have ever met, will push past you nearly knocking you over as they dont believe they have to queue, there were a couple of incidents where people got upset with their behaviour. On the last day of your holiday the british are allowed AI until 3pm but the russians only to 12noon, this is because they are so greedy they will order food and drink until they are drunk and then leave the food.(The staffs words not mine).
The entertainment is very poor but to be honest this doesnt bother us as we are happy having a quiet drink and then to bed for an early start. But if entertainment is a big part of your holiday Concorde is an absolute no no for you.
The airport runway (on the sports side) is a problem and i am amazed not many people have mentioned it. The noise from the planes landing and taking off is tremendous and the whole room shakes and things fall off tables. (this was the case in our rooms anways 8227 and 8228).
To summarize would I go again probably not mainly because the food was so poor, the russians dreadful behaviour which is all very sad as the staff are so friendly and kind and the actual hotel very nice.
The deputy manager agreed at the moment the hotel is falling well below 5 star so maybe if they can bring it back up I would go again but this is not at present a 5 star it is struggling to be a 3star.

The Concorde was full of children and the staff were fantastic with my son of 21 months. The hotel is spotless, spacious and elegantly styled. We stayed in the main complex and our room couldn't have been better (1162) ground floor, and just beyond the patio was the outdoor heated pool. So we really didn't venture very far.
This pool is the one with gym equipment in and is the only pool that is heated, so it was extremely popular. The russions are really not that much of a problem, and if you are friendly with them, they will be back, just like anyone else who speaks a different language.
We found the food in this hotel the best that we have ever come across abroad, there was plenty of choice, the salad bar was fantastic and my husband had a special afinity with the pizza chef! Be warned, it is not fully all inclusive, you will get charged for bottled water, and freshly squeezed juice and of course any international drink and the italian restaurant offers a 40% discount.
There are plenty of shops across the road from the hotel and two supermarkets and a fantastic pharmacy. The pharmacist will do all he can to help you and he even managed to get me a 64 pack of pampers which were very cheap(for those of you who might want to take a small child!)All in all a fantastic first holiday with my young son.

We had paid for a sea view room but from the first room we were allocated you could barely see the sea! But this was not a problem, reception gave us the keys to several other rooms, and told us to just pick the one we liked the best!
There was nothing wrong with the food (and I'm a fussy eater!) I could always find something I liked, and we found ourselves constantly full! We eat in the Italian one night, and could not believe the quality and amount of food, and with the discount we paid only

It is so clean, the rooms spacious and immaculate, very comfortable. We were in the sport section, it was quite and lovely, we often had the pools to ourselves, but it never felt too quiet.
The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport, and we saved alot of cash by booking transfers with Charm of Sharm, a very efficient and competitive Sharm based travel company that was recommended to us from this site.
It is 15 minutes into Naama bay, and the hotel has a shuttle bus (free) to and from town.
The staff could not do enough for us, and were at no point after a tip, although if you do tip it makes a difference to their lives, and is appreciated. They never expect or behave different if you do or don't tip, as they are all lovely anyway. They are polite, helpful, kind, friendly, nice to the children and give a 5 star service. The AI did not finish until we left the hotel at 3pm, and they wouldn't have cared if it was midnight.
We only saw some of the entertainment, and found it professional, they even have Gigi, a professional ballroom dancer. The animation have loads of fun, and help you to have a good holiday. They work very hard, and have a years contract and a months preparation, so are very professional. Join the water balloon beach game at 12.30 lunch!! There is even a DJ on the beach!!
I will definitely visit again, I returned home last night and am gutted I could not have a pre breakfast swim, but had to take my lad to school in the snow!!
ps- if you're having a non alcoholic drink ask for grenadine, fresh orange and lemonade (included) fantastic refreshing and looks good!
Book and have a great time.
