Cabin crew actually announced that no visa was required if not travelling outside of Sharm. They apologised as they had no entry permit forms on board, but we did get them on arrival inside the terminal.
Keep a pen handy-we found it easier if one got the forms & filled them in while the others kept a place SHUFFLING along in the snaking queue.
Entry forms no prob- Family surname, first name, dob, place of birth, nationality & passport number. An official went around the queue writing SINAI ONLY on the back of the forms. But you are allowed to do this yourself. Your passport is then stamped & thats when the fun begins!!
We were told of a Thursday 74 planes fly in & out of Sharm. We asked numerous staff which carousel for the luggage (only about 3 anyway) as it appeared tv screens not working.
Luggage comes but we found the handlers literally throwing them off the carousel to make room and believe me they really do DUMP them. Maybe that was a bad day!! We finally got our cases, but because we were almost 2 hrs getting through, our booked 'Limosine' translate to- fuel smelly blue Mazda couldnt wait.
We got a taxi for the four of us for

I would say the Conrad was more like a 4* than a 5* but all the same was a lovely hotel and excellent value for money.
** Food was very nice but not loads of choice there was always a salad bar, soup/different bread and one potato dish with either a chicken/beef and fish dishes. There was a breakfast/lunch and dinner buffet and at 11am there was sandwiches and fruit laid on at the pool bar, apart from this there is not really any other snacks available unless you buy yourself. We ate room service quite alot if we missed meal times, this was fab!! You can order a huge Cheeseburger with chips(well recommended!)for only

The beach was excellent with the snorkeling out of this world!
Staff were polite and friendly at the beginning of the holiday, but towards the end they were not quick to serve us drinks at mealtimes, maybe this was because we had not tipped them.
The hotel is short of a lounge type bar which could cater for families where children could relax, sat in the hotel foyer is not ideal as the bar area was far too small.
The entertainment was too late for us as it started at 10pm.
A trip into Naama Bay is well worth it and we visited the Hard Rock Cafe for a change of meal! We also got a taxi to the airport instead of the bus, this cost us only

Set in the most wonderfully manicured gardens it was just spectacular. The veiw from our room was fabulous, looking across to the island of Tiran, what a sight to wake up to in the morning.
The food was very enjoyable as it was based on a different theme each night.
The Staff were marvellous and very attentive, the odd small tip worked wonders. Islam who has the cheekiest of smiles to Mohammed who could not do enough for you and Aseef who looked after us so well.
I say this without reservation none of the staff bothered us for tips at anytime but were very grateful for any that they recieved.
Remember they are poor compared to you.

On arrival it was pretty obvious that the hotel was not a five star as billed, but after a few days the real ambience of the place took effect.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the food above average for an AI. and the layout of the place is exceptional. Its private beach with its snorkling facilities are brilliant, for the price of a mask and snorkel (about

The only real gripe was the grouting in the bathrooms was dirty and the evenings were spent in the hotel bar fighting over chairs.
The disco is ok for younger but could do with a mix of music instead of just techno, a bit of Motown wouldn't have gone a miss in there to get people in.
The beach and jetty area are beautiful and investing in a snorkel is a must.
Also the day trip to Cairo was the best part of the holiday,

The hotel has lots of steps and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone with walking difficulties. It is built on a site which slopes down to the sea.Its near the airport and noise can be heard but it did not bother us.The room we were given was pool level but had lots of trees just outside the patio so asked to be moved to a higher level. We went to room 2183 which had a view of the pool and the sea.It also faced west so made the most of the sunsets.
The rooms are in need of updating but are kept immaculate by the staff which consist of young men. They tend to knock on your door when you are having a shower/having a nap, with a bottle of water or a towel.Just put the dont disturb sign on the door.
The grounds of the hotel are very well kept by a team of gardeners and it is like a park.
The beach is amazing with soft sand and shallow water teaming with tropical fish. The food was excellent when we were there and lots of variety.I ate the fish every day which consisted of grouper, sea bass and krill and Egyptian fish.
The cooks collect the herbs from the gardens on a morning and sometimes these are left in your room in some water.
The staff are wonderful and are very friendly,we tipped them from the beginning of the holiday and found we had a table with plenty of drinks as soon as we entered the resturant.Mohammed on the pool bar who also works in the lobby bar on an evening,Fathy, Samy,Assan and Mohammed in the resturant were especially good.
The only downside is the lack of seats in the bar and the way the seats in the lobby are set out means you cant talk to new found friends as they are all on different levels.
We went into the disco most nights where they have had a new sound system installed.I was surprised at the music as it catered for all tastes from rock and roll to dance music. If it is to loud tell them to turn it down, dont ask.The DJ soon got to realise the guests wanted to talk to each other and not be deafened.
Sunbeds were plentiful at all times of the day but this wont be the case in high season. The limosine we used into Naama bay one night was an old banger(Mazda) and even the secutity on the door were laughing at it!The name Alnmo makes it sound good but it is definetly not Alamo that is used in Florida.
All in all it was a great holiday and I would return if I could get a good deal off the web as I think it was worth what we paid

The hotel and rooms were spotless, the staff were faultless, the food was fantastic and catered for everyone. The snacks between meals was great, pizza, filled rolls, fruit, cake.
Pool area and pool bar was superb, pool and beach towels are provided. The beach, well speechless, snorkeling is a must for all, it's another world of colour and you don't have to look for it, it's just there all around you.
Lots of Brits at this hotel made some lovely friends, which was good as the entertainment was this hotels only let down even though our daughter who is 14yrs old enjoyed it.
There is quite a few steps there as the brochure shows but there are ramps for the pushchairs and people who don't do steps.
Overall fantastic looking forward to going back...

I needn't have worried because the place was brilliant. The rooms were very clean and spacious with everything you could want and although getting a little worn round the edges they have already started renovating rooms replacing bathrooms, furniture etc.
The food was very varied with a different theme each night and it all tasted good!I suffer from IBS and can honestly say that I was free from any stomach upset the whole time I was there.
The location of the hotel was just right. Not too far from Namma bay but not right on its doorstep either.A great place to just chill out and relax for a week or two in the glorious sun.
The views are also amazing both underwater and on top!
The staff were very friendly especially the restaurant staff Fathi and salah. They were there every mealtime and always polite and very hardworking.
The entertainment team work hard but unfortunately this is the only downside, although as far as Im aware it is the same in most of the hotels. Most guests I found are not really interested in what they have to offer and so this results in a poor turn out most nights.Everyone seems to sit about waiting for something to happen and then they get fed up and leave!
As I said this is the only drawback to an otherwise great holiday in a great hotel.Take me back!!
