We arrived late at night and were told that a meal would be provided from 11.00-midnight. When we got to the main restaurant, soup and pasta and cakes were provided.
All of which my coeliac (wheat/gluten allergy) daughter couldnt eat. I asked the manager if he could provide a piece of chicken for her meal, explaining why. but was told the chef said no. My daughter went without a meal and was hungry.
We had two rooms, one for two people, and one with three of us in one room. An extra bed had been put in the room, this consisted of a camp style fold up bed with a mattress of about half an inch thickness.
I telephoned and asked for another bed and after about three calls to reception, another thin mattress was provided. In the end, my son of 14 slept with me for two nights until, through utter tiredness, I kicked up a fuss and asked yet again for another better mattress.
The hairdryer was broken as well, so I went to complain to the front desk manager - then things seemed to happen (the new mattress and supply of a hairdryer).
Our Room was in block 6 on the 2nd floor, which was near the amphi-theatre, but the entertainment?? finished at 12.00 so wasnt a problem. What was a problem was the loud booming music coming from a hotel over the other side of the road, our room vibrated into the early morning - tip- take earplugs.
We found, like the last review that the main upstairs restaurant food was cold. The service was appalling on Christmas night - there was no special celebration food. I had to get my own family drinks from the bar and hunting for cutlery was quite a task.
When we arrived, they wanted to lay our places on dirty table cloths and not change them, but a look from me, made them decide they should change the cloths - tip - fill in the questionnaire left on the table and leave it open to be taken - They are obviously read as the next meal time, our service was good and drinks were served. At the end I was presented with a questionnaire to fill in.
We found the downstairs restaurant halfway through the holiday and never went back to the upstairs restaurant. The food was hot, the rolls were freshly baked, and the Manager down there ran a much better ship, talking to guests - I even saw him clearing the tables and folding napkins.
The evening entertainment was a joke. There was a show every night in the amphi-theatre, but it was much too cold to sit there. The best night of all was the 30th January, when there was an oriental show and belly dancer - the belly dancer was out of her tree - not sure what she had been taking, she was so spaced out, she basically just stood there and wiggled her behind at us. One of the girls in the dance group stood on stage wide eyed and staggering - when we got up to dance, we could smell the alcohol from a good distance.
I think the saddest part of the holiday for my 16 year old daughter was that her phone was stolen from our room. Its not the phone that has upset her, its the photos she had on there she can never get back. Of course, the lost and found department had no trace of her phone when we realised it had gone and telephoned them.
One big word of warning though - do not use the hotel taxi service, situated on the left hand side of the lobby area. The man is a crook. There is a standard price list which is meant to be displayed. It is under the table. The price for a one way ride to the airport was quoted as 60 Egyptian pounds. He tried to charge me 100, but when I told him I had seen the price list, he was prepared to do it for 60.
As I was standing there another family came up and asked for a price to the airport and in front of me told them the price was 100 - I couldnt believe it, he knew I could hear him. I told this family the price I had been quoted, but I ended up going outside and getting a taxi for 40.
I complained to reception about this practice, but I'm sure they knew already
The grounds were lovely and well kept, it was chilly and if you didn't manage to find a place in the sun, you got cold.
I think in reality, the hotel is too big and no one cares. There didn't seem to be enough staff employed in the restaurants. Unfortunately, they are in the process of building more blocks.
The website shows there is a diving school on site - Werner Lau, but this had been demolished for building works. Fortunately, I had pre booked diving online before travelling with Emperor Divers for my son. They were brilliant and picked him up every morning and brought him back in the afternoon. I thoroughly recommend them.
We had a half day trip to Dahab, using a taxi outside the hotel, which was great.
The hotel run a shuttle bus service into Naama Bay, or at least that's what they say. In fact they drop you off at their sister hotel, the Rosetta, which is about 10 to 15 minutes walk (for the fit)into Naama Bay, crossing a busy main road on the way. This has to be done at reception, but is well booked in.

Staff friendly very impressive arrival. Booked in had been advised as we were on honeymoon we would be upgraded but reception unaware of this, we were told as it was late they would move us tomorrow, which was understandable at the time, 2 single beds. The staff told us there was a late meal on in the restaurant which was cold bolognese and cold soup. Not a very good start.
Breakfast-cold potatoes although later in the week we found downstairs restaurant better had freshly cooked omelette. Queried room upgrade several times over the next couple of days but was offered a smaller room which overlooked th building site. Spoke to rep who said he was basicly in the middle (so no support there.)
Had bad stomach for 3 days very expensive trip to chemist. Phoned home twice using hotel phone approx 3 and 5 minute calls and were charged

The hotel lobby is particularly impressive and this set the standards for us. Our room was one of the biggest we have ever stayed in with a separate room for our son and was conveniently located in the middle of the complex.
We found that all the staff couldn't do enough for us from the people cleaning the room, the staff in the restaurants and the attendants who always made sure we had sunbeds/ towels whether it be by one of the numerous pools or down by the beach.
My son is a very fussy eater but we always found something he liked and only on one occasion did we find the food cold. We mainly ate in the upstairs buffet and I had a freshly cooked omelette every morning. We went in the downstairs buffet towards the end of the holiday and found the food to be better than upstairs. We also ate in the Italian and Chinese restaurants and found the food and service to be really good. We usually went to reception around 10ish to book and only had to wait around 5-10 mins.
If you want to be close to other attractions and like to be entertained of an evening then this is probably not the place for you but if you want a chill out holiday with winter sunshine then I would recommend and would certainly consider going back but maybe at a different time of year when you can make the most of the fantastic pools as it was too cold to go in!!!

The reception area was stunning but enter out side and the smell was disgusting in the evening, it was the smell of raw sewage.
The first room we had was disgusting we requested a move but had to pay a further

Please see my posting in August for full account of this hotel. Yet again fantastic holiday, great place for winter sun, average temp was still in the 80"s,had dessert winds,so great to sit and get the best tan I,ve ever got!!
Hotel still as good, all the staff recognised us,lots of handshakes and kisses!! They have added a bakery to the main restaurant, fresh bread/cakes every 20mins or so,heaven or what!!
Sun does go down early this time of year, about 4ish,so you need to be up early to enjoy the sun its out shining and hot from 7am!!
Great place for a weeks winter break, don't normally go back to the same holiday hotel but this one is a bit special!!!

The Russians were very rude & ill-mannered. We would definitely return at some point in the future to this hotel. on the whole lovely hotel lovely staff.....

Despite the best efforts of the generally pleasant enough staff this is a Butlins in Sharm el Sheikh with 90 degree heat. If you like that sort of thing you will enjoy this place. But if you want 5 star food, service and facilities forget it.
Why oh why do our travel companies class these places as 5 star with no guidance as to what you should expect. I showered under a trickle of water for 14 days, queued for cold buffet food, had to be up before the worms if I wanted a sunbed and had to keep asking for my fridge to be left on during the day to keep my drinks cold. And I had the upgraded wristband!!
The ha ha la carte restaurants were like a procession, two sittings, quickly in even quicker out and absolute tosh in between. You might get one drink if you are lucky and that will be warm. If you are a genuine lover of seafood, (I run a seafood restaurant) give this one a very, very wide berth, thats all I will say!
I will not even bother with the entertainment. I think European entertainment is very different to ours and obviously more bearable with copious amounts of vodka slung down your neck, but really it is very very very poor.
I chose this hotel as a gamble as I never go all inclusive, I like good food to much, and security wise was worried about wandering around. But if Butlins in the sun is for you crack on, otherwise be afraid, be very afraid!!!!!

The hotel is spotless and there is always something that you can eat. The staff can't do enough for you, but I'm sure they must get "fed up" with the "nit pickers".
Please remember, you are in Egypt and you will not get fish & chips like you do in Harry Ramsdens, Oh! just one other thing, y ou don't exactly pay 5 star prices.

There are plenty of swimming pools to choose from although we preferred the Fountain pool as it was the quietest and more relaxing pool with less kids.
The weather was lovely and seeing as you are right on the beach there was a lovely breeze which was refreshing.
The staff are really helpful and will do anything for you. You will find that sometimes the Animation Team will come round while your sunbathing and try and get you to join in with water polo and various other activities but they never pressurise you.
The food in the main restaurant was ok. It was really what I was expecting as I have read other reviews that the food is not great and it isn't. Just remember that they have to cater for all nationalities though. The food was far nicer in the Al a Carte restaurants which you need to pre-book. We ate in the Italian and the food was excellent. Definitely recommend it.
The jetty from the hotel beach out to sea is quite unstable. Everyday they had workman putting in new planks of wood and you would have to step over them and some planks were quite loose which was slightly scary. However snorkeling was wonderful although the coral is not the best along this shoreline. It is very very shallow and as there is not much coral, you tend to see more people then fish but its still worth having a go.
Money wise, do tip using US Dollars or Pound coins. I don't know why some people think that the staff prefer Egyptian money as this is not true. They get more for their money with sterling and dollars.
The Egyptians at the airport can be very abrupt and rude as they really do rely on tips to carry your suitcase and some of them do tend to try and snatch your suitcase from you but you need to be stern. The coach drivers also expect tips but its not compulsory.
Be prepared to take toilet tissue with you especially for the ladies as if you use the toilet at sharm airport on arrival you do have Egyptian women in the toilets trying to sell you toilet paper as each cubicle has none.
We would go back to this hotel again. The let down was the entertainment. At night there was nothing to do within the hotel. Most evenings we sat on the terrace bar and had a few drinks which was very nice but its sometimes nice to have a disco or entertainment. There are free shuttle buses that take you from the hotel into Naama bay which you need to pre-book and this takes about 20 mins to Naama.
There was no building work going on at the Hotel that I could see as this was one of my main concerns before going. There is work ongoing around the outside and across the road but nothing that will disturb your holiday.
One thing I feel I should point out as no one I can see on any forums has mentioned this but you will see low flying aircrafts taking off and coming in to land that fly right over the hotel. Now although they are noisy and quite close to the hotel, they are not constant. At night we did not hear them as the buzz of the air conditioning in the room helped but lying round by the pool you will see/hear them. This did not ruin it for us though.
Also our stomachs were ok. My partner did suffer with an upset tummy for a couple of days which we believe was from the food in the main restaurant so be careful what you eat and drink plenty of water in the day but wait for it to warm a little as its not good to drink ice cold water on a hot tummy. We used Immodium and they worked fine.
I am sure anyone going to this hotel will have a lovely time and we wish we were going back.
