Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.
Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

I would definately recommend going out on a glass bottom boat to see the fish and the reef - it was great
Snorkelling is brilliant in Sharm
Naama Bay is good shopping and somewhere to go in the evening. We didn't like Old Sharm - very dirty old shops with live chickens in cages on the street - not my cup of tea at all

The main attraction for this place was the coral reef in the sea. There was no beach as such where you could walk through the sand into the sea. There were man-made plastic jettys that took people over and past the coral to prevent damage to it. The sea was crystal clear, warm with a vast array of fish and tropical wildlife (very 'finding nemo' like).
We completed our PADI course at the Aquarius diving school which was very enjoyable and well worth the money. Would definitley recommend the school and the diving to all.
We went into Naama Bay once through the day. It was dead at the time and every 10 us in there shops, using tactics such as 'Come and sign my guestbook' 'Please come and tell me if you like my paintings'.... It got very annoying and got to the stage where we just tried to find somewhere to go where there would be no-one pestering us, especially when they start telling the Mrs how beautiful she was and how she should leave me for them whilst I was stood there!
On a night-time this was a different place, it was very busy so the locals weren't as persistent when we politely said 'No Thanks'. There were some nice bars and restaurants and we would probably go a few more times if we visit again.
I would advise people to take English money, we got Travellers cheques and Egyptian Currency only to find that in many instances sterling is the preferred currency. All trips through our rep were advertised in Sterling prices, and when we paid Egyptian we were charged an extra 20%. I think if we go again we will take £100 English, £100 worth of Egyptian pounds (mainly for tipping) and a bank card to use the ATM, and a Credit Card to pay for trips.
Despite all the moaning, a brilliant holiday. Would definitley go back.

The resort is kept extreamly clean and tidy.
The entertainment is good, and you've got a wide variety of pubs shops and restaurants in Naama Bay.
The beaches are well kept but the sand is not smooth its made of ground coral so it's quite uncomfortable under foot and I wouldn't reccommend it for families with young children.
We would visit this resort again.

Snorkelling is a definite must for all, swimmers or not, and a waterproof camera will supply pictures of fantastic fish very close in at the beach/reef. For non swimmers, a trip on the 'submarine', provides an excellent view of the reef, and fish.
A ride in the local Bedouin taxis' are also an experience. The town of Sharm is a little 'smelly' in the old part, but a ride down to Naama Bay is a different place all together.
Bright, clean and a lot more relaxing.(less hassle from the store keepers to buy). We will go back again, maybe in a few years, and as there is a lot of construction going on at present, we look forward to seeing the changes.

The beach is a bit gritty, The kids hated it where scuba shoes.
However, it was clean, clear and shallow up to a mile out.
The hotel attendants are there again to give you everything you need.

The positives about Sharm:
Clean
Nice beaches
Nice promenade
Plenty of reasonably priced places to eat/drink
The negatives about Sharm:
Constant hassle from shopkeepers and taxi touts-there is only so many times you can say 'la Shokran' in the space of 200 yards before it starts getting very tedious.
Very commercialised-could have been any busy resort in the Med.-just happened to be in Egypt!
Attitude of bar/restaurant staff-I think we found this the most disappointing. From reading other holidaymakers posts about how friendly the people were we were expecting the kind of friendliness and welcome we are used to in Turkey. We found most of the bar/restaurant staff we encountered would simply take your order ask for the money and that was it-with only one or two exceptions there was no smile, rarely a please or thankyou, no small talk.
Overall we had a good relaxing holiday in a nice hotel and we would return to Sharm but we felt a week was long enough.
We would probably avoid the extreme heat of the summer months next time and maybe try Springtime (when it's only 'very hot' and not 'extremely hot'!

Sharm El Shiekh is spotlessly maintained. Everywhere you look there are street cleaners and people busily ensuring that the resort is as clean as can be. Following the terrorist bombimg in Taiba last year, everywhere you look in Sharm there are police, ensuring that security is at a premium. The local taxis are something else, driving 3 abreast on a 2 line road. They don't use headlights, even in the dead of night and, if you let them, they will charge you the earth for a £2 ride. Be firm with them and you will only pay what you should.

Up and coming resort, lots of expansion going on, although this will not affect the excellent time you have in Egypt.

Sharm el Sheik is purpose built for tourists, although there is lots of building work going on we heard no noise.
Naama bay is lively and has a Hard Rock cafe, KFC and McDonalds if you fancy it.
We went quad biking which was excellent (ladies - wear a sports bra!!!!!!!). We also flew to Cairo, which was well worth the effort and the money, we got some amazing pictures.
We booked the diving through Thomson, which was based through a company in Naama bay, well worth doing, it was a great experience though if you're not keen, snorkelling is just as brilliant.
There are lots of clubs and bars in Naama bay, we chose to stay in bars which were all open late.
All in all no complaints at all! Just appreciate that Egypt is a third world country still and you will have a great time!

Sharks bay is a quiet resort I think maybe Namma Bay is the place to go if you fancy a night out. We only drove through Namma on the way to the harbour to pick up our boat for our day cruise.
I would recommend a hotel in Namma Bay as I heard some good reports about it but it all depends on what you want our of your holiday, Sharks Bay is the best area for snorkelling by far.
