Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.
Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

If you venture into Naama bay from here, we would recommend The roof top bar at the Camel, an Indian meal at the Camel. Get to the Camel Bar and get one of the cushioned seats, sit back, enjoy the sounds & a flavoured hubbly bubbly sheesha.
We love Sharm. We returned back to the Crowne Plaza, 3 months later. This is a real Shangri La for us. The views are fantastic, if you want a beer out it's great value. Everything is good value, but can be half the cost if you venture into the Old Market especially if you are buying snorkelling gear. This is more like the real Egypt and makes an interesting walk around. I hope that if you go, you respect & love Sharm el Sheikh as much as we do. Enjoy!

Sharm is a lovely place, the beach at our hotel was man made so not too good and we were right over the coral, which is protected so you can't walk into the sea you have to go off a jetty which got very busy and slippy.
Naama Bay is the main town area. This was full of the usual tourist shops and also home of the best Hard Rock Cafe we have ever been too. The staff sing and dance all night..
Make sure you go!!

The resort is mainly centered around the main strip with the promenade backing onto this. It is definately not the place for people looking for nightclubs and discos although there did appear to be 2 available. Most evenings seemed to be geared towards eating and chilling out at the numerous cafe's with the obligatory Sheesha pipes!.
There were a couple of places selling beer although it was not as common as you might think in a main resort area, mainly because they are quite strict muslims apparently. However a fair majority of the restaurants sell alcohol.
It is difficult to rate the resort beaches as most are attached to the hotels and you therefore have to pay a charge to use them, they did however all appear to be fairly clean and well maintained.
I would definately visit this resort again and can highly recommend it to families as it has a very laidback childfriendly attitude.

Sharm El Sheikh is a diverse region of the Sinai Penisular.
Naama, I would discribe as the Blackpool of Sharm. Lots to do if you like eating and drinking. Several night clubs etc.
Nabq Bay area is very quite, and some hotels in that area require a long wade out before decent snorkling can be reached. Excelent for Safe walking along the purpose built Coastal path.
Ras Um Sid is excelent for snorkeling. (large fish etc practicaly as soon as you enter the water). This area tends to be a bit hilly and could be troublesome for those with walking difficulties.

Cannot really comment on the beach in Naama Bay. All the beaches are private (belonging to the hotels) except for a tiny bit of public beach.
Naama Bay itself is very clean and very interesting. There is a wonderful atmosphere at night on the main shopping street and on the promenade.

the resort is very clean and well cared for once you are away from open desert and areas around. the hotel grounds ( huge ) are spottless and cleaned what seems like constantly.the entertainment is more or less a self help thing. what more do you want, olympic swimming pool, beautiful beach, views, and the red sea at your doorstep.scuba centre on site and gym(fully equiped, internet cafe, pool rooms etc etc. plenty for everyone. free shuttle bus into naama bay so no excuse for any bordem. i have been 3 times tothe baron and will be returning in sept 2004 and reccomend it to anyone.

It is a little bit out of the way from naama bay.
It is also quite close to the airport, but did not disturb the peace and quiet your looking for.

I first visited Sharm in November 2001 and I have just returned from my 5th visit. To say I love this place is the biggest understatement ever !!!on your journey there try to get a window seat on the right hand side of the plane then as you start your descent into Sharm you fly over the coral reefs and the sight is just amazing, the blues and greens and turquoises are undescribably beautiful. Now, it has to be said, in my opinion they have ruined the airport. In 2001 it was totaly manic and 100% unorganised, but what joy it brought me ! Now they are pretty slick and for me it has lost a lot of atmosphere, dont get me wrong there is still plenty there to amuse people like me,the airport officials range from smiling friendly guys who couldnt give a damn, to miserable grumpy guys who couldnt give a damn...they are brilliant!!! it will never be like a british airport thank God .
The Egyptians in Sharm are brilliant,do remember that many you meet are incredibly clever, most have a grasp of 5 languages and their english is superb (they love to talk about football)
Sharm is a very safe place, the tourist police (there are millions) conected to all the hotels and on every street corner are friendly and love to chat, there are now signs all over the place saying "Sharm el sheikh - city of peace"
Taxi drivers will try to charge you the earth so agree a price before getting in the car, they are very interesting to talk to and they like it when you are interested in them (their driving can be a bit alarming at times though.)
Go into Naama Bay at night and watch the people, again it is super-friendly, the bars and restaurant are very reasonably priced and there is not a lager lout in sight!Hoped I have enlightened you , please visit it is a wonderful place XXX
