Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.
Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Even number rooms face the sun, odd number rooms are on the dark side and never see the sun.

didnt see much of the resort, only walked along the prom, some building work going on. sand a bit gritty but colour of red sea water makes up for negatives once you reach the end of the hotel jetties and see the amazing fish !!

The resort was very basic but apparently is is 30 years old, where we stayed at the Three Corners Palmyra you had miles to walk to the nearest shop.

Our nearest resort was Naama Bay, it's lit up like a mini Las Vegas, clean bright and friendly. There are casinos, plenty of bars, including a British tavern, with live music. I'm sure there are discos, etc., but we are not in the age group to visit these now. The beach is now managed by the hotel, and greatly improved while we were there. Clean towels, clean sand, and a friendly restaurant and bar. We have just booked to return next year, so yes we were very satisfied.

Sharm el Sheikh is a mixture of old Egypt and modern living! If you want to eat McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Kentucky - you can! We visited the Hard Rock Cafe in Sharm for a night out. Between four of us we ordered 8 bottles of Stella, 2 steaks and chips with all the dressings, 1 chicken in a cream sauce with fries and 1 mixed seafod platter. The cost for the whole thing was the equivalent of £28! Fantastic value. If you want to eat local food and sit and relax in tavernas in summer clothes while your mates at home are huddled around the fire - you can!
Namma Bay and the markets are great but remember to bargain until you get a price thats 30% lower than the asking price.

The resort is very clean but be prepared to be harrassed by every single shopowner/shop you pass. if you enjoy this sort of thing then you will love this resort but if you dont then stay in the hotel.

great all round resort .booked some trips to various places through first choice and then found out could get same trips form aquarious as they have desk in hotel lobby so recomend them and you will save money on reps prices will use aquirous next time we go which will be third time to this resort. staff were great look after them and they will look after you. see monty for trips for aquirous he will look after them for you. we took local buses they were cheap and if you dont mind the hastle use them as they stop to pick up on route and was good fun to use. entertainment was ok but went out most nights for a walk tgen have drink in lounge bar. took trip to luxer long day think before booking as lot of walking involved but enjoyed trip, you fly out for that trip and get more room on the plane then flight over there with hol company. chris and sue

The area of Sharm we stayed in was very nice. Outside our hotel was a few shops and an English bar. There was a lovely fountain which at did a light and music show at night. It was very pleasent to walk around there in the evenings.
There is no beach as such, as you have to get into the deeper water via jetties at your hotel, but once you were in the sea, it was a fantastic experience - like swimming in an aquarium.
I would definately visit the area again, and plan to do so very soon.

We were quite anxious about visiting Egypt again. We had been once before to Cairo about eight years ago and that was an adventure but not one that we would want to repeat with a seven year old daughter!
However, no need to worry in Sharm. I agree with most of the favourable things that other reviewers have said, but, being British, I must moan a bit.
You will be hassled by everyone outside of the hotel and by quite a few inside it (particularly the fitness and beauty people). The drinks are pretty awful (apart from the beer which is surprisingly drinkable) My partner paid £7 for a fake Tia Maria which she couldn't even taste. If you like something in particular, take a bottle or two wth you!
You will be ripped off at every opportunity. Everyone is at it from the barstaff to the internet room and even the staff on reception. Even the employees at the supermarket will have a go. The biggest con is to give you change in english money. Take some time to work it out before you walk away. It's obviously an accepted part of the culture because they are not subtle about it and rarely apologise when caught out!
I read a lot about a bloke called Pete who is supposed to be 'the shining knight of sharm'. All I can say is that I went to his bar twice and he wasn't there either time. The bar and the complex that houses it are a tip. Nevertheless I did book (by phone) a jeep safari and intended to do several other excursions with him.
His daughter met us outside of the hotel, took our money, warned us not to pay the driver any more money and we were left with complete strangers. clearly, Pete is just an agent and has nothing to do with any of these excursions.
This was the worst jeep safari i have ever been on (and I have done loads all over the world) Lousy value and i did not do any more excursions with good old Pete after that. I will leave you to make your own minds up and maybe we just had a bad day, but you have been warned.
On the positive side, the beach is often better than the pool which can be excessively noisy and you realy must have a swim (or even just a paddle) in the sea. It is fantastic.
Overall, for the money it is good value and fun, but keep our wits about you and expect a lot of wind in Jan through to March.
